Best Working with team members and Best Hotel never forget We love Equatorial hotel Penang.

Attention to all motorcycle riders please be carefull when you ride at the lobby… the road was very slippery when rain. Just fall earlier today when sending food at lobby… staff were there but didn't help me at all. Just saying don't brake at the area… management please put some signboard drive and ride slowly while rain… luckily I didn't get any injury… just my motorcycle have some damage.

The hotel is awesome. It reminds you of the feeling of how good 5 stars hotels should be back in the days. Huge grand lobby, big swimming pool, the pool bar is open serving drinks, few restaurants you can choose from to fulfill your taste buds, and a lift that allows you to view the lobby going up to your room. It has all these experience.
The room itself is good, was given a corner room, the view is excellent, overseeing a golf course, the pool can be seen from the balcony. Amongst all this, the most appreciative part of this hotel, is the cleanliness. Its very very very clean. Will definitely repeat my stay.

Room has nice bed and view. Unique hotel design on the hill. Lovely nature surrounding and amazing view. Restaurants also serve good tasty food, halal on Japanese, western mix and Chinese food. Friendly and helpful staffs, and very efficient. Very recommend!

I love this hotel… it has a great ambience and relaxing feel. The Christmas spirit and friendly staff is heartwarming.
Awesome landscaping and koi pond gives a zen feel. Also kudos for being a ‘ green hotel’ the huge Christmas tree made of plastic bottles. Clean and great beds. Will come again.

Very hospitable, gorgeous place ever I would wish to stay for rest of my life.

FB Crew member not professional, attitude problems. Top management side on theirs staff. Their staff have problems on serving customers. Manager called police officer to force customer out from hotel lobby. Say that's customer have problems but no given any reason then asked security guard and police officer to caught customer. Warning customer next time cannot enter the hotel promise without any valid reason.

Best place to stay. Great Food, bug outdoor swimming pool. Poolbar. Renovated rooms!

Actually, its nice place but at nice it is a bit scary because light inside a room is not bright even I turned on all. My bad experiene about this hotel is I got a room which was already checked in by someone. After I opened the door, I saw many stuff of other customer so I felt so shock and fell unsafe. After I called them to checked, they reacted like nothing important and didnt say sorry. I think this is a big issue but they just told me "yes! That is a room of Mr… from group… " which is not secure for both of me and that customer as well. I could not sleep well at that night because I was worried that some other can open my room as well. So I complained their security system and their staff.

I love this place. Its old but its beautifully old well maintained greens around. Very tranquil place. Stay here if you like peace and quiet.

Great hotel. A perfect place to stay with a lot of accommodation for their customer to use like swimming pool, gym, sauna, tennis court, golf and many more. Overall it is an awesome experience as a guess here.

Quiet hilltop retreat amidst nature. I was here back in the hotel's early years n again almost 30 years later. The greens have grown n truly a nature paradise. Palatial spaces n great views. Of course hotel has been renovated n added the new Ballroom n Biz wing though that was quiet. Swimming pool was inviting but I was here on conference for 4D3N n so did not bring my swimming gear. Restaurants OK but need to take a shuttle or taxi to go elsewhere. Still, peaceful n quiet ambience.

I stayed over at the hotel for a friend's wedding. The location of the hotel is near the airport. The amenities are decent. However, there was an incident when me and my pregnant wife returned around 11.30pm, the room had a strong cigarette smell (we stayed on a non-smoking floor). The management took about 1 hour to settle our room. My pregnant wife had to sit outside our room (on the floor) while we wait for room service to "verify" the issue. They moved us to another room and we settled down around 12.30am. Apparently someone smoked in another room and the smell went through the toilet vent. The lift also had issues when it will stop or close on its own. I would say apart from the lift and the smoke smelling room, the place is a very comfortable place to stay with great view. The staff from. The reception are friendly and smiley. I think I would only consider staying at the hotel in the future when there is a deal so good that I couldn't resist.

It's a very nice hotel. It has panoramic elevator and beautiful views. It also has a very large and well kept garden, with an artificial stream that when you hear it it relaxes. The restaurant has very good food.

Location Staff and service at a high level. I liked it, I recommend it. Spa salon, outdoor swimming pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms are top notch.

Ambience is good as it is located at top of the small hill and surrounded by greenery views. You can see two Penang Bridge from here. The food was nice also with great selection of Western, Chinese, Malaysia and Japanese style.

Lovely hotel on hill slope with nice view of forest and sea. Other plus points — spacious lobby, gym, parking, indoor garden, friendly staffs. But the level of housekeeping varied across our 3 nights stay.

Hotel with the best view in town & very thoughtful IPTV implementation for on-demand entertainment in-room. The shower has a separate bathtub, water temperature is so easy to adjust & fast response to the tap switch… would've been the best if they've a small platform to put the shower items.

Just started a long term stay here for work purposes. So far everything is excellent. The staff have been very helpful and pleasant to deal with.
I do not yet have enough experience with the restaurants but the breakfast buffet spread is above average. Only complaint would be no option for regular mineral water under RM18 (330ml) at restaurant. Should offer Hotel branded water for a more affordable option.
I will update experiences as my visit progresses.

My favourite hotel in Penang. Nice hilltop location with great views and very tropical feel. Not close to shops etc but shuttles available.

One of the finest hotel in Penang, near to airport (within 10 minutes drive if no jam; within 20 minutes drive if jam) and awesome fetch service. From reception to your own room, you will feel just wow. The room is cleaner than the word clean and comfortable. Bathroom is hygienic in its own level. There are no cheap advertisements (massage, sales, or others) annoying you. Worth the price, truly 5 stars hotel. Strongly recommended if you're from overseas coming to Penang.

Lovely staff, good food. Three different types of restaurants with excellent service. Popular for conferences as it is not in a tourist area. On the top of a hill, it has great views of the area and is generally cooler than elsewhere.

This was a fabulous hotel at reasonable prices and the staff were really incredible, extremely helpful but not intrusive at all. Room was spacious and I liked the provision of a proper work desk and work chair, I was able to work very comfortably in evenings. Breakfast was extensive, starting at 6am. Dinner was an option until 2am I believe but did not really use that. Have a swimming pool and full fitness centre. There is an outdoor trail for walking or running also. I may arrive better prepared if I return.

They have some work to do regarding customer service. Restaurants are excellent though. The shuttle service is also new and it has its bugs to be worked out. Management is responsive to survey feedback and is eager to make things right.

Please be informed that Equatorial hotel has raised the parking rate from RM8 (which is already one of the most expensive among all hotels in Penang) to RM10. This applies also to guests attending company events and seminars there. Hello, we are also corporate guests when booking your venue for our company events, why impose such an exorbitant rate for your guests? Other hotels have a validation system where corporate guests are entitled to a flat rate if they are attending an event there but not Equatorial hotel. Frankly I don't see the justification for the parking rate as other hotels located in prime areas like Georgetown can charge just RM6 for a full day parking which is comparable to some private outdoor carparks in town.

The hotel is clean and neat after so many years. It's busy during holiday weekend but the customer service is exceptional.

Wonderful area with good view and fresh air. Convenient to famous area like Georgetown airport and other by shuttle bus providing by hotel.

Car park is not convenient because only has one lift access. The room is good and environment generally is ok. They mistakenly charged me Tourism Tax but I managed to get it rectified at the counter. Besides, they also charged me with a higher price which is not same during booking, also managed to get it rectified. That is why I give 3 stars to this 5 stars hotel.

About more than 10 years ago, when it was Penang Island very luxurious five-star hotel, after so many years passed, although the decoration has been a little outdated, but the environment, sanitation and equipment is very good, it is worth recommending.

High end hotel located in the hills above Penang. Close to the airport when traffic is not bad. Very cool open air lobby. The rooms was spacious and well appointed. Staff went above and beyond to make my short stay as pleasant as possible. I had to check out early and they modified my reservation so I didn't have to pay for a second day and only a small late check out fee. Japanese restaurant had amazing food.

Room is in excellent condition with very good service and facilities. Stayed in a room overlooking the penang bridge. There is a small convenient store within the hotel. There are no supermarket or local store nearby.

Former President M. Ordered to make 5star hotel in conjunction with Industrial Estates. This hotel had aimed at high-end resort hotel having gold course. It's pity to fail good maintenance.

Big Hotel. Good Breakfast. Next to Penang Golf Club. I really like the spacious bathroom. Staff is friendly and efficient.

Although the swimming pool depth is pretty short but overall love the ambience of the pool area with greeneries around it. Comfortable room. We had lunch at their coffee house and portion was generous but would still say it's overpriced and we were not extended an in house guest discount. Happy hours price is reasonable but extending it from 4-6pm is not sufficient. On an average, a 3 hour promotion will be the ideal. Do consider that.

The hotel is extremely clean with friendly staff. The breakfast provided has lots of variety especially the eggs and fruits. During the night there is a life band at the coffee house. About facility's they have gym and pool. The pool is well maintained. For in room, you can call in food and wines. There is a bath tub and comfortable bed to sleep with, especially after a tired long day of visiting around Penang. Some of the rooms has a great golf course view and can feel very fresh and natural while staying there.

Although the building from the exterior looks dated (due to fact that the hotel has been up for ages), it is well maintained interior wise. Room that I checked in for a night was comfortable, spacious and have all the needs to just rest your head. Definitely must try the coffee house and the Japanese restaurant, in short the foods were superb. Only the downside so far was with the parking system if you're driving, it can be tiring and slightly confusing for first time to locate the nearest parking to the room / lobby (like I had).

Amazing views of golf course, bay and hill. Great green park inside with flowing water. Little picturesque bridge. Little old hotel with old styling, neatly maintained. Nothing in walking distance but well located from Georgetown, industrial area and airport. Good stay.

Previously known as Coffee Garden, and now it has been changed to "Nada Lama", I have went for their buffet lunch. They charged for RM70 nett per person, but I believe that the choices of the food were very limited, and the taste of the food were only average, provided with the price paid for.

It is one of my favourite restaurant in Penang when it comes to western food.

Poor service and lousy workers, dead people in the concierge and the corpse are gone too, lousiest hotel ever, and worst thing is their workers will shake heads to you when you ask a question even run away from you if you ask them the second time, DON'T GO THERE.

Overpriced rooms with no views, lobby without air-conditioning and the rude workers, it's like an Indian temple on the mountain, most of them don't understand English, and it's hard for people like us to understand Indian accent, the workers don't even have knowledge for the hotel, have fun getting directions from them! Why not pick B-Suite or Vistana instead? Their workers greet you with a smile, they don't discriminate you for your appeal and they are helpful.
