Everything went well from check in, to room design, as well as activities available. Resort is huge, and beach is really spacious. Would totally recommend! Just that it’s quite far in, so bring your own food if you get hungry often, as food choices aren’t much.

Choosing this resort as my staycation is the worst decision I ever made this month. Very bad service. NO WATER SUPPLY at night starting 8PM. Extremely bad.

Bad experience. Very not recommended. Compared to both Shangri-La's resort in KK as these 3 is the oldest resort here, Nexus is far behind. Yeah I know what the pandemic had done to us but both Shangri-La's still maintain not just the facilities but also the services. Honestly when we went to rasa ria on September 2020, once we arrived at the gate, the guards with check-in guest list already meet up their 5 star standards service. When we go for check-in at front desk at the lobby, the staff welcomed you friendly and helpful. They checked the temperature, explained to us about how they care about each of customers that come and even served us with juices while we await for the room registration. While in nexus at the gate the guards just stare at us and not so friendly when we ask where the lobby. Worst thing is they don't even have temperature check.

Only from the ambience perspective but do not expect anything from the service, hardware, food quality or functionally of the rooms bathroom. (As I am writing this… engineering is trying to fix blocked sink and weak hot water! )

7. No bathrobe.
8. Pressure for toilet is very low.

Excellent family holidays, in a very pleasant place and beach outside of the rooms, few people at this huge and beautiful beach and excellent restaurants and friendly staff. Is far from Kota Kinabalu city. About an hour by car.

Wonderful resort with plenty to keep adults and children amused. Food was excellent particularly in Noble House. Drinks are overpriced but aside from that, fantastic place to stay.

A perfect and much needed staycation at Nexus Karambunai away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The Ocean Panorama Premier Room is tastefully decorated with a private balcony overlooking the South China Sea. Friendly staff, excellent food, a pristine beach to switch off & relax and not to mention being surrounded by lush tropical forest. I was lucky enough to encounter the Malayan monitor lizards, hornbills, monkeys and squirrels roaming happily just outside my room. A big shoutout to all the wonderful staff at Nexus Karambunai for making my stay a priceless and memorable one. Looking forward to coming back again! ❤️

A beautiful resort for honeymooners. My newlywed son and daughter-in-law loved the place at first sight. They decided to stay longer becoz they loved the nice beach. Wasted no time at all, they were out strolling on the beach enjoying the beautiful scenery. The staffs are very friendly, courteous and tend to your needs immediately. Our salute to such efficient staffs at the front desk upto transferring us to our suites. Merci beaucoup.

Well-kept and very quiet resort in the north of Borneo. Although the building structure is a bit old, you don't notice the lovingly furnished rooms. The pools are large and never overcrowded. The clean beach is almost deserted, as there is nothing else in the immediate vicinity besides the Nexus. If you are looking for the feeling of being far out at the end of the world without having to travel to remote islands for days, then you are right here.

Nice beach and view available, many activities such as quad biking, pool, western chess and many different activities available every day. It is nice and quiet, a nice place for relaxing.

Definitely not a 5* resort due to the aged rooms but: 1. It's really clean 2. The staff are very helpful 3. Resort facilities are amazing 4. Location just nice; away from the hustle and bustle of town but not too far Only negative thing was that we had to queue for 15-20 mins for bfast coz they didnt open the other cafe and it was peak season so naturally there was very long queue at only 1 cafe with limited seats. Then again, :)

Nice beach for watching sunset. For people who are not staying at the resort can also visit the beach via a side lane. We got to watch beautiful sunset from here.

Awesome place to stay. The people working here are all incredibly kind and helpful. The place is well organized and it's not hard to navigate the premises. The only downside is that it's kind of far from Kota Kinabalu, but the resort offers plenty of cheap shuttles to the city, and if you want to go on tours, such as snorkeling or visiting a cultural village, then the resort has a special guy to help you book the trip including transportation and lunch.

How long does it take to deliver a Room Service menu to my room?! Well, 1st of all, there isn’t a menu in the room to begin with so my parents & I, sharing a room decided to call for a room service dinner. We have been waiting for just the menu for a whole hour now… Yeaps… International standards service. Whole place isn’t really well maintained too. Shabby. Nothing too spectacular. There are much nicer, better & just as pricey resorts elsewhere in KK & nearer to the city centre as well… Never coming back or helping to promote the place as a fellow Sabahan to overseas friends ever again…

Stayed here after traveling across the country. The staff were fantastic, polite and helpful. Our room although not clinically new was clean and well appointed and the service we got from the hotel for any minor problems we had was quick and efficient. The food was good, beach was wonderful and the spa was one of my favourite places to unwind. We really enjoyed our final days here and I would like to thank all the staff for there help while we were there. Thank you.

Great place for a weekend to rest and relax. Nice beach and pool. Dinner buffet is ok with reasonable selection and has some local traditional natives dance performance included. Lazy away the weekend here and go back refresh.

Very bad experience here, bad customer service, room a bit dirty, the staff is not very helpfull… Surely this is the first and the last. Will not recommend this place to anybody. Try Sutera Harbour, way way more better than this place. I am so regret for choosing Nexus Karambunai. Wasting time and money here.

Relaxing and quite resort with friendly staff members. The rooms are nice and spacial but somehow old in furniture and accessories. Main Restaurant is average and has a good variety of food.

This is my first time going to Nexus Karambunai. I would expect it to be more but its okay. Great sea breeze! Good time as any to relax.

The architectural style is full of local color, the garden design of the fine flowers, and the Invincible Beach Sea view.

I wonder if I was in hell hotel TV series. The pool villa is so run down, broken wooden floor, broken chair, pool with missing tiles, unknown green “cloud” in the pool, wall that’s falling apart, spider hanging to the pillow, trash of exploded balloon from god know when, disgusting toilet seat, molded wall. The worst of all there’s a big cockroach in the living room, I have to worry if cockroach going to crawl out from the bed. See it yourselves from the pictures. The only good part is it’s facing the beach other than that it’s nightmare. Oh by the way service sucks too, there was no electricity for about 1-2 hours, and the lady at check-in counter ask us to look for our room by our own without clear instructions.

Lived in a villa in this beautiful hotel. Just a few steps from the villa is a big beach with shallow water. It's going to take a long time to swim. Everything is buried in flowers, a lot of birds and lizards walk around the hotel. Very friendly staff, decent massage and Italian restaurant. The hotel for 5 stars, of course, does not pull, but the service is not bad. Beware of small jellyfish in the sea and sandy stinging flies on the beach.

Cabin cell phone signal is not good no signal, the room is not clean, hot water shortage, the ceiling moldy, service equipment general.

Well, it only pulls 3 stars.

It's a fine villa but it's much more expensive than it really worth since the service level here was not good enough considering the price. People here are warm and friendly but seems not trained well, for example, we haves been asked to wait in lobby for the checking in over 40 minutes. The dishes are not enough for all the customers when the breakfast time. Such as these things made me thinking that it's not a really star hotel. You can see that the facility WAS good when it JUST BUILT, but the maintenance seems not good enough to keep this beautiful building beautiful.

Staff welcoming and doing their best to make our conference a success. Pity that the facial advertised on website no longer available for some time. Missed opportunity and unhappy wife.

It is a fairly nice resort, the room was spacious (club room) I recommend not eating outdoors, there are a number of flies and little bugs flying around. In my opinion, the prices are reasonable, but with club, you do get 20% discount on most things, except alcohol. However, you can enjoy the club lounge, from 4-6p with free cocktails and beer. The beach was clean and the sun was bright. The breakfast could improve a bit as well. Overall, great experience.

White Beach, 6km, hotel outstanding, very well maintained, very generous, best cuisine.

All the things in the standard room are single, no slippers, no wash cups. The room has geckos, spiders and musty smells.

Stayed in this resort for 2 nights. We were "upgraded" to a "better" room (room number 711*). Little did we know this was actually a down grade. In the toilet, our sink was cracked in half, the seal for the bath tub was not working well so it took atleast half an hour to fill the bath tub with a side of ALOT of waste in water and the shower head for the bath tub wasn't even working. There was heavy rain during the second day of our stay, they did provide umbrellas but there was no proper walk path to our "upgraded" room. We had to walk through mud to get into our room. That's just the room side of things. We paid full price but alot of the facilities are out of order such as the asthe sauna, the spa and the Jacuzzi. The hotel's pool did have a sort of Jacuzzi but parts of the water was yellowish green which made it look like someone decided to urinate in it. The slides by the pool are both out of order, peeling off pieces of the slides into the pool. Let's just say the facilities aren't top notch. When we went to have dinner in The Penyu restaurant, I ordered a nasi goreng/fried rice and to my surprise, I found a plastic or a kind of rubber in my egg. I have previously stayed in this resort a few years back, everything about this resort has fallen with the only exception being the service. The customer service is the only thing that is top notch. 5 star resort? What a joke.

It’s my first time staying here and the hotel has lovely facilities and swimming pool. The front officer manager Mr. Justin was very good and accommodative to need. The downside of our stay is the unfriendliness staff Ms. Noritika made us to wait at the lobby for almost 20min before we ask her colleague about it. She left us without any updates. The food is good full of variety and the kids room was helpful.

Spent 500ringit at the golf club another 400 at the their spa. When I went to have a look at the beach the managers asked me to be removed by security as I was not staying at the hotel. Appreciate exclusivity, at hotels, but are beaches not public in Malaysia? Will not be recommending o any of my friends.

Great facilities, very complete! Although a bit old. Nice Borneo style environment, greens, bungalows, balconies, beach right at the fingertip, nice pool, etc etc. Prices are competitive but be prepared to pay resort prices.

First day of checkin our room aircond not functioning well. Power trip few times, from water jug short. From late checkin until 10.30pm we cannot bare more. Hotel staff suggested us another upper level room. Ok fine we hv moved to upper level room but smaller than previous room. Having breakfast at Penyu restaurant now and its damn hot. Their A/C not working. Hotel room are bit run down especially at upper level 5 at ocean panorama view but spacious. Proably, the floor need to be sweep n mop cus I still can feel that the floor not really clean. Thank you to room bell boy ikzwan and hsekeeping Zaimah being so attentive & do their job well.

I had a good stay there, really awesome place with a stunning beach. But the ending was terrible with my phone stolen at the beach. The management recovered it after 3 weeks from their staff but it was already badly damaged and the hotel did not give a word since then.

AMAZING HOTEL! The rooms are huge and the staff are super accommodating. Great facilities! The beach should be better maintained. And it's so far from local civilisation you are limited to eat the hotel restaurant food which can be limiting if your a vegetarian and the extortionate hotel prices. Taxi into town can be extortionate but there's a shuttle bus that goes to the local town every day so it's worth going into town and eating the real local and super cheap food.

Very nice place, well equipped, perfect beach, friendly staff, good cuisine, fast and quality services. The only disadvantage is that the place is quite far away from everything. If you want to go for trips or sightseeing, prepare to pay for every transport and it is not cheap. Except of that we were nicely satisfied.

ATTENTION — — ATTENTION — — ATTENTION I want to inform everybody is going to choose this "hotel" that something really really bad happened! Somebody from hotel staff stole 1000€ cash money (one thousand €) from our room and the management told us that they cannot do anything because is our problem! I can suggest to never ever come to this place if You do not want to put Your security, Your money and all Your personal belongings in danger! We also went to the police station asking for make some investigation and all the documentation regarding the theft is already in the hands of our lawyers… In the meantime we are also verbally informing all the guests currently in the structure! DO NOT RISK TO RUIN YOUR HOLIDAYS, STAY AS FAR AS POSSIBLE FROM THIS PLACE!
