A Night at Owakionsen Kaze no Mori: An Immersive Forest Retreat.
Last night, I stayed at Owakionsen Kaze no Mori, a hidden gem nestled in nature.

Room: the room was fantastic by Japanese standards, it was big with a private patio. Having your own villa is great for relaxation. The onsen water was hot and calming to be in nature.

Absolutely loved this place, very typical Japanese ryokan, everything about it was excellent from start to finish.

TLDR; 4.5 stars.
Recommended for people who are looking for a great value-for-money stay in Takeo Onsen; if you are particular about room design or "newness", this might not be for you.

It’s a very relaxing hotel. The room is spacious, comfortable, and cozy. The hotel’s design creates a calm and inviting atmosphere.

Minimalistic hotel based around 5 minutes drive from Takeo town centre. Very “Muji” inspired vibes with large and very comfortable rooms.

My family and I used it for Christmas. If you arrive by car, there is no parking service, but you can have your luggage carried to your room.

One of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Japan.
Staff is very friendly, hot spring is great and food was very tasty!

-The complementary coffee was fantastic.
— The lounge area was great. Sipping coffee there was awesome.

Very old fashioned but well maintained hotel. Providing stylish 100-year-old coffee-shop-like environments. The hot springs are enjoyable. They even provided some breads and coffee in the morning.

We traveled with two kids (14 & 11) anf usually stayed in budget hotels.
Our room is twin room with an extra bed.

Bed are too small for the double bed. Location is very good. Staff are very helpful. I like the Onsen, which is big and clean. Facilities is good.

The 11-room Onyado Chikurintei is the only bona-fide luxury ryokan in Takeo Onsen with a reputation of offering seclusion, privacy and high standards of service.

A very unique stay! Because of the Shinkansen being down, I had to last minute change my plans, but still was able to stay in “Hagaromo” for one night.
Service was great from the very beginning.

I actually stayed here in Feb 2020. Zone of my last holidays abroad before Covid. It's taken me this long to review!, but I still remember my stay very fondly.

Goooooood place to stay. Beautiful house, star, firefly, and nice host!
Will bring our child to be here next time! Highly recommended!
