Absolutely beautiful room in a historically stunning medieval tower. The location is city centre, the decor is stunning, and the owners are very friendly. Highly recommend!

Beautiful room in a great location. Warm hosts that spent the time giving us great suggestions for the time we had in Lucca and were very accommodating for some special needs we had. Our only regret is that we didn't stay longer!

Beatiful b & b in the very heart of the historical old town, so a perfect location where to stay to visit Lucca. Brid and Stefano are very welcoming host, always ready to cater all your needs. We stayed three night for the Eastern Holidays and we've been given what I considered the most charming roomm, located in the old tower. Great!

Charming, Beautifully Restored Historical Building. The owners, Brid & Stefano, are kind, hospitable, friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The B&B offers a lovely breakfast of fresh local breads, cheeses & meats. The hosts are a great source for restaurant suggestions, tours, winery visits, transportation assistance, etc. We had a perfect stay in every way and highly recommend L'Antica Bifore.

A fantastic place to stay when visiting Lucca. The level in the apartment has been beautifully restored, with tons of old characheter. The look on my wife’s face did it for me when we walked into the room. The location is fantastic, while being centrally locates and having beautiful history all around it. Stefano and Brid are fantastic hosts with great restaurant suggestions that have been the best meals we’ve had on our trip to Italy!

A gem! Absolutely lovely in every way. This accommodation has it all: historic restoration, perfect location, abundant breakfast, and gracious and attentive hosts. We have traveled throughout Italy for over 20 years, and this accommodation has won our hearts. A true gem restored to splendor. Attention to detail throughout including modern upgrades, comfortable beds, and warmth throughout. We will be back!

The room was absolutely amazing. Room was rich with history and our hosts, Stefano and Brid were wonderful hosts.

Great stay in a superb location. Lucca was our base for 5 days and provided a beautiful launching base for visits to Tuscan experiences. Lovely historic residence in the heart of the town. A very special overnight stay.

If I could put more stars;I would. Without adding anything, it is the best hotel I have ever stayed at. On the other hand, it is not even a hotel really. A perfect mix of care from hosts combined with freedom and felling as if we lived here, the location, the music behind the window, just becomes a dream holiday. Not easy to book, always full, but if you are lucky, this hotel will mark your Lucca stay. Prior arrival (for stressed mothers) and during our stay, nothing was too difficult for Brid and Stefano, we got tips for best places to eat out, organisation parking… and at breakfast I could not tell what I ate, because we were engaged in an interesting conversation with people from the next room and the hosts :) Lovely atmosphere. We will go back as soon and often as we can. P. S. If it nice weather, rent a bike!

It is an accomodation for those who search to make their trips special. You take some walks in and around this mouth-dropping medieval town, and then you have the chance to actually stay and sleep in one of those old — or maybe ancient, should I better say — buildings that you admire during your walk. The owners are people seriously concerned with their very original touristic product. During my breakfast I also had the chance to ask more questions about the history of the building and learn things. Recommended to everyone, except maybe not families (but this is only my personal assessment/opinion).

Stayed with Brid and Stefano for 3 nights at the end of July. They are the perfect hosts and arranged a car to pick us up from the airport and were even there to greet us in Lucca at 1.00AM. Wonderful room in the medieval (or older) guest house in the very heart of Lucca — on the main street (originally a Roman road). Perfect location from which to explore the beautiful city. If you are overlooking the pedestrian street there is some noise early on (delivery and cleaning vans) and later from people walking past and chatting — but that is a minor point and would probably only effect the lightest sleeper (like myself) — my wife didn't notice it. Highly recommended and the A/C is very, very quiet!

A gem in the heart of Lucca. Great location, great historic character and great hosts! Brid and Stefano were very instrumental in making our first visit to Lucca a delight and one of the reasons we'll be returning to L'Antica Bifore. Only good things to say!

Stayed here for three nights in June. The location is perfect in the center of the old town with access to everything. The apartment is stunning and our hosts provided everything we needed for a very comfortable stay. Stefano and Brid are very kind and personable people and we would highly recommend their B&B. The only thing you need to be aware of is there is some street noise due to the central location but certainly doesn't keep you up at night.

Lucca is a beautiful small town well worth a few days visit. There were lots of dining options, great architecture and the plenty to see and do for a few days. L'Antica guesthouse is a perfect home base in the center of the city. The ancient building with high ceilings, stone floors and arched windows give you the feel of the old world with modern comforts. Stefano and Brid have created an intimate home away from home for travelers. Perfect hosts, helpful, friendly and interesting. We look forward to our next visit.

I wish I had found this gem before! Having stayed at other hotels and guest houses in Lucca for the Summer Festival over the years, I would recommend LÁntica Bifore hands down! Great location in the centre of town yet it remains an unique and special place — beautiful rooms — with a charming common space and lovely hosts.

This was our second stay at L'Antica Bifore and it was just as good as the first. The rooms are stunningly representative of the period of the house and the owners, Brid and Stefano have done a brilliant job in restoring it to its former splendour, if not even better. If you want luxury, find a five star hotel — this is genuine Lucca living in a piece of history. We were very comfortable in our room overlooking the main street which was busy and any noise from people in the street simply added to the atmosphere. Brid and Stefano are great hosts, very friendly and welcoming, anxious to help in any way and have some great recommendations for local restaurants. We took their advice and had fabulous meals in wonderful restaurants within walking distance. Yes, it's a bit awkward getting a car into the street to unload luggage but it's possible and adds to the unique character of Lucca. We can't wait to return as soon as possible.

Excellent B&B in perfect central location of Lucca. Wonderful, hands-on owners (Stefano and Brid) gave us terrific advice (both how to drop bags and the new address for Avis) that greatly enhanced our stay. Rooms are straight out of a fairy tale — romantic, well cared for, and exceedingly clean. Very reasonably priced, too. This is our second stay and we were more pleased than ever. Will recommend to all our friends going to Lucca.

Absolutely incredible location. The view of the church window right out the window is spectacular! The guest house is also quite lovely. We were charmed by the wall paintings and antique furnishings. Our hosts were wonderful too and provided excellent recommendations. This is by far the best place to stay in Lucca.

Our first stay in Lucca and we chose the L'Antica Bifore for its central location and because it looked "interesting" — a guest house in a historic tower — wow! We were charmed both by Lucca and L'Antica Bifore. Our stay — 4 nights — exceeded our expectations and was made particularly memorable by the warm welcome and the helpful and kind manner of Stefano and Brid. We were greeted by the lovely hosts Brid and Stefano who are running this hotel. They were super welcoming and even helped us to arrange a romantic dinner for us. The hotel has great history and is located bang in the center of Lucca. We would definitely recommend staying here!

Having been fortunate enough to discover L'antica Bifore and secure a delightful room for a 4 night stay in Lucca in 2011, we did not hesitate to return for our short visit in October 2015. Brid and Stefano are the most excellent, helpful and friendly hosts — very welcoming, greeting and treating us like old friends. The historic bell tower they have converted into boutique accommodation has a charm and atmosphere beyond ability to convey in words. Be prepared to fall in love! We recommend both the hosts and the accommodation as an experience not to be missed should you be fortunate enough to have the opportunity to stay in the lovely old city of Lucca.

Stefano and Brid have done a splendid job of restoring this beautiful property in the centre of Lucca. The lovely interior and furniture and decor are in keeping with Lucca's historic feel. The B&B is in a very central location in the heart of the fashionable shopping district on Via Fillungo. Everything is at your fingertips — historic sightseeing, shops, restaurants and a 10 min walk to Lucca’s city walls where you can stroll round on foot or bike. Also a 10 minute walk from the train station. The hosts, Brid and Stefano, are a super friendly couple and provided excellent eating and touring recommendations. Breakfast was superb as was the tea and coffee and biscuit facilities — much appreciated after a long day of walking! The air conditioning worked brilliantly in our room and the Wi-Fi connection was perfect. We also felt safe and secure at L'Antica Bifore. We were greeted by Stefano and Brid and welcomed warmly to their lovely B&B. The building was a piece of history in this lovely walled City of Lucca. Our room was spacious and comfortable. The bifore window was amazing looking our to the church. The bathroom was also spacious as well as the shower and very much welcomed. The salon / common area was warm and welcoming with very good Wi-Fi access. The breakfast was very nice. I particularly liked the ability to make my own tea, coffee and access to water at anytime. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Only stayed one night but had a great welcome from Stefano and Brid. Great location right in the centre of Lucca, beautifully restored apartment. Excellent restaurant recommendation and they even tipped off the restaurant that it was our wedding anniversary :-) Enjoyed chatting to the other guests at breakfast. Would definitely recommend.

This guest house had such amazing old world charm. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised, from the beautiful doors to the entrance, the stairs leading up, the beautifully elegant dining room, and the bedroom with stone walls, and lovely doors that swing open to a balcony in which to hear all the sounds of a small rustic Italian village. And Stefano and Brid were such lovely people. They advised us on the best places to eat that were always delicious and recommended sights to see. We would love to visit Lucca again and highly recommend L' Antica Bifore! Thanks Stefano and Brid!
