Great location! Close to the market and walkable to the train station. They have a beautiful terrace where you can sit, lounge and relax. We shopped at the local market, brought back meats, cheeses, bread and wine and sat and ate on the patio, relaxed and lost in our own company. We had a lovely stay this past June.

I wouldn't stay anywhere else when I am in Firenze. Carmel and Pino are perfect hosts. It is more like staying with family than at a hotel. My favorite place to spend time is the beautiful rooftop terrace where you can meet people from anywhere in the world.

Very pleasant, clean and accessible to train, restaurants and city center. Helpful staff live on site. Somewhat noisy from street at night, but shutters muffled sound.

What an amazing trip we had! Staying at Hotel Il Bargelinno was like being home but in the beautiful setting of Florence. Carmel & Pinot are the absolute best hosts! Very accommodating and made us feel like we were the only guests in the hotel even though they were completely booked. Rooms are so charming and spotless! Sitting on the terrace in the evening enjoying a glass of wine and Carmel and Pinot sitting with us sharing there experiences and love for Florence. Being a Bostonian we even found out we knew some of the same people. We will absolutely be back! You can’t go wrong stay at Hotel Il Bargelinno! ❤️

What an ADORABLE and cozy place to stay in the center of Florence! Carmel and Pino are the kindest hosts, and they made our trip even more special. We felt so peaceful starting and ending our daily adventures in a place that felt like home; and if blessed with the opportunity to come back to Florence, I will reside right here!

Carmel & Pino are great hosts. The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of many of Florence's famous venues. Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. We were made to feel very welcome and our needs were anticipated. Along with good directions and suggestions, we had a wonderful stay in Florence.

Owners Pino and Carmel were wonderful, accommodating and also great at referring us to places in the city. The bed was very comfortable and the room was always clean and linens refreshed. Coffee machine made cappuccino too! Patio is beautiful and open to daylight sun and evening stars.

Big, clean, modern rooms. A short walk to the train station, but not so close that you're hearing trains go past. Sometimes you can hear a little bit of street noise at night. Fast free Wi-Fi. Coffee machine in the room was a nice little extra.

We had an excellent stay at Il Bargellino. Carmel and Pino were gracious hosts and the value was amazing. The location is also superb as we were able to walk to all the major sights we wanted to see.

My stay at Il Bargellino was fantastic! Carmel and Pino were so hospitable and make you feel right at home. They have a great terrace that overlooks Florence. And they have plenty of advice for day trips in the area. I can't wait to go again soon!

My husband and I stayed here while honeymooning thru Europe in July 2007. My husband and I loved the house and found Carmel and Pino to be lovely, welcoming, warm, extremely friendly people. We kept in touch a few years later, we even got a gift from Carmel when we had our first baby 3 years later. We would definitely go back as we felt like family when we were there.

Wonderful hotel, approximately 10 mins walking from train station. Our room opened to a lovely patio. Very responsive to emails prior to arriving. Very friendly owners.

I lived in Florence for 13.5 years. I finally got back to spend a few weeks and was lucky enough to be able to use il bargellino as my home base. I was able to have many of my friends visit me here and it felt like I had never left Florence 23 years ago. It felt great to just "hang out" and have people drop in to visit and have a glass of wine or a cup of coffee on the terrace. The proximity of the station and fast trains (300 km per hour) made it possible for us to travel as far as Milan and the Amalfi coast in less than 2.5 hours for this location. I finally got to see everyone. What was important to me was the cleanliness and care of each individual room. Thanks Carmel, Rosita and Pino for providing a home away from home!

I recently traveled in Dublin, Amsterdam, Barcelona, Bolzano, Florence, and Rome. Hotel Bargellino was far and away my favorite hotel and best hotel experience. Contrary to one of the reviews (does the guy have a burr up his butt or something? ) this hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff were very friendly! I'd recommend this hotel to anyone! It helped make my time in Florence wonderful.

This is a charming and rustic hotel that I absolutely loved! It's very ecclectic and funky and the owners were really helpful with getting me around Florence, which I got lost in anyway. The hotel is walking distance from the train and bus station and in to downtown. Try to get a room on the patio upstairs. They have french doors that open up on to a large terrace that has a wonderful open area to sit an have some wine or whatever you bring home. I didn't have one of those rooms at first, but Carmel (the owner) let me move into one when it became open. This isn't a luxury hotel, but it's cute, clean, comfortable and I loved all the funky furniture and art. Carmel and Pino were wonderful to me and we still keep in touch and I'm going back soon.

Don't even consider this place. Find somewhere else. Why? It's a one-star, as clearly displayed on the official hotel bureau plaque and you can get a 3-star a 2-minute walk away for CHEAPER. A proper hotel with a your own private bathroom, an elevator, free breakfast, a concierge, clean linens, clean walls, fresh towels, nice decor, toiletries, a comfortable bed, furniture that isn't chipped or mismatched, a room fridge that keeps food cool, etc etc the list goes on. If you go to Il Bargellino and stay in Room 6 upstairs, you can expect: — A washroom so filthy a 20 minute soaking with Italian VIM can barely make a dent in the grime on the bathtub. — A small bar of soap. — Dirty, mismatched, chipped, sorry looking tacky furniture — To be kept awake by the owner's yapping, roaming cat and television — To have a nice view of the owner's living area and kitchen — No breakfast — Limp, threadbare towels — A bizarre, threadbare leopard print towel as your bathmat — To replace your own toilet paper — A fridge that spoils your food — Dirty filth all over the pink walls — Chipped mirrors — A broken fridge — No elevator to go up three floors to your room in the July heat — A sense of despair. Carmel and Pino charged us 90 euro for the room above. And the A/C barely worked. We got the heck out of dodge the next day and got a 3-star hotel room one street over for 85e, which came with buffet breakfast, a clean washroom and fluffy white towels.
