This place was the worst hotel I've stayed at. Terrible service. The staff at the reception desk were rude. The hotel room was dirty. The bed was so uncomfortable, the bathroom shower still had a used soap bar from the last people that stayed there. They charge you extra for everything. They don't even offer free Wi-Fi, you have to pay per day to use it. They even charge you to use the safe that they offer you in your room. You can not bring any food or drink into your hotel room… Safe yourself some disappointment on your vacation and look elsewhere to stay. There's other options nearby.

Staff friendly, location good but it lacks a lot of amenities and services. Room from the inside is nice, no free Wi-Fi, you have to pay to use the safe box. Overall not the best hotel out there but good to spend the night.

The location of this hotel is it's strongest selling point. The fact that it's style is classical and fits the city is nice. For the rest it's so-so. The employees doing breakfast are very friendly but the receptionist is grumpy. Not unfriendly but not friendly either. Just friendly enough to not be offended by it. The room is clean-ish. Not clean but not dirty enough to make a fuss about it. The breakfast is ok. Only the orange juice is a mess. It's from some machine and at the bottom of the glass you end up with some goo that I guess is supposed to be dilluted. They charge a price for Wi-Fi per device. That's insane. The mini-bar is empty and according to the rules you are also not allowed to bring own food or drinks to the room or put them in the mini-bar. So I guess they want you to starve and dry out. The bed is on the hard side but not uncomfortable. Pillows are flat but there are more in the closet so that's ok. They have a nice garden to sit in. So, all in all, if you have low expectations it's just fine.

Air conditioning in hotel room was pretty weak. Couldnt stay cool. Bugs were also an issue. But location and service was great.

They hosted me for 4 days, the service rooms was great, like cleanliness.
It was not the same level as the treatment to the customer by some of the staff.
The breakfast is a bit sparse but all in all not low level.
Great location, given the proximity to the old Town and all the major buildings, including railroad.

The staff We went on a school trip paying for triple rooms and they provided us with quintuple for the same price. As soon as we got into the room we noticed that the bathroom lacked the hygiene seal on the toilet and toilet paper. Not to mention the rooms in itself. In the rooms there is a bad heating, we got sick almost all, in some rooms it is freezing in other you do the sauna.
Good breakfast, and waiters available.
The staff at the front desk was very rude.
Unreasonable prices, you also pay the Wi-Fi and luggage storage.
The only point in favor is the central location that allows you to reach both the station and the center in a few minutes walk.

The rooms are very clean and there are a few patches of mildew on the walls and ceiling, the bathroom dirty. Breakfast acceptable though poor. Hotel disorganized, if I can advise the manager to make the staff more courteous and polite, a greater cleanliness from the stages of the corridors that are covered by a substantial layer of dust, make the rooms liveable and the bathroom usable! The stay lasted only 2 nights was little appreciated, the prices for what the hotel offers are excessive, then impossible pay the tourist tax and the luggage deposit (which is simply a storage room used for storage of objects in disuse, Example tables and chairs) as a last thing the mattresses are uncomfortable and without great sensitivity you can feel the springs that messed up your backs.

Very cozy hotel, nice. Good breakfast with many suggestions, young and sympathetic staff with the desire to do. Always available. Clean. Colorful and cozy garden with flowers lemon plants… I'll be back to you soon!

Excellent hotel for a short-medium stay, a ten-minute walk from the Duomo. Comfortable rooms with great bathroom, well clean. Friendly and helpful service. Breakfast varies. An outdoor garden useful for smokers.

The young guys are really very nice from buffet and reception, useful and friendly. They helped a lot.
The owner is also a nice woman.
BUT the biggest problem and point is NO FREE Wi-Fi, its not normal for 3* hotel. Even hostels have free Wifi… Its a big minus, so next time may be I will prefer another 3* hotel for this reason…
The breakfast was the same almost every day and really not delicious ( (The device for Puncakes and Omlet makes an awful thing…
Location was not bad, 10-15 mins from the main places.

The hotel itself is not bad. Rooms were spacious and clean, the bathroom was very big and even had a bath tub, which is uncommon in three-stars hotels. Breakfast didn't offer a lot of choice to be honest, it was pretty scarce in terms of variety. But the worst thing out of all was how rude people were to us as a school group. I would never come back here again for this precise reason.

Hotel was fantastic with very clean bathroom and very helpful staff but there was too much noise during the night coming from a gang of people outside in the park.

The Wi-Fi was not free. We heard a bad noise during the night because the bathroom has problem with water pomping. The breakfast was not very good. Totally we didnt like this hotel.

Hotel located 800 meters from the station, close and practical. Clean rooms and impeccable breakfast. Competent and always polite staff. Highly recommended.

Old-fashioned, antique-looking furnishings with spacious, comfortable and clean rooms. Great service and friendly and helpful staff.
Also the breakfast buffet is rich and cared for.
Only flaw is the conditioning of the central heating overly hot, easily manageable with a manual control of shutting down the system in the room (only possible operation) and opening the window (I forgot, I was at the Second floor and the view was very pleasant). Overall great experience, but beware luggage storage price can range from free to 2, €5 per baggage.

I have reasonable suspicion and ample proof that the hotel does not change sheets/bedding between guests. It was fairly disgusting once I found out! That and the fact that the room feels like a hostel dorm with strange bedfellows who might not have showered for months made me feel really uncomfortable with myself the following day while touring the lovely city.

It's very clean. Breakfast was very good. The room was very nice and comfortable. Good location.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The sheets had cigarette marks and other stains of dubious provenance. Our room wouldn't have been a bad coat of paint. At reception the girl is very friendly, but the man there is pretty dry and nasty. I put a star because its location is good, but nothing more. I wouldn't repeat it by a peep.

Comfortable in the centre, large and spacious rooms. We stayed one night and it went well. It is in a historic building, very large, not all floors were heated… and perhaps some more maintenance and cleanliness would have been desired. Normal breakfast. Paola, travel agent.

Would not stay there with a group tour again. First of all we checked in with a group of high school students and were told to keep quite because there were doctors staying in the hotel. The hotel should have put our group in one wing and the doctors in another and then there would not have been a problem. There were other high school tours and while our group of kids were eating the hotel staff asked us to hurry up and told us we shouldn't have eaten all 46 at the same time because others need to eat. They had two breakfast rooms. They should have sent the 2nd group to other room rather than packing all groups into this small breakfast room. Then they proceeded to tell our group leader to go downstairs to the other room but there was no breakfast laid out. The plus to this hotel is that they are a 15 minute walk to the main sites. If you are only taking up one room you should be fine but if you are booking a group tour then do not go there.

For schools that make cheap trips. The staff is really friendly and kind.

Rooms very noisy and stuffy. Can't let cool air in from outside because of cigarette smoke and because of location on busy, noisy street. Front desk very grumpy about air conditioner request, then pretended to turn on (air in room still not on after request). TV reception horrible. Breakfast area congested and understocked and understaffed. Hotel layout must be modelled after medieval streets. I know, I know — this is all probably normal for hotel type and location. I can at least say it's a good location. Short walk from all tourist attractions (10 to 40 minutes). Most staff are pleasant. So, do with this review what you will and hopefully come prepared.

Hotel Donatello is in a strategic place great to move… The breakfast is good… the owner very friendly and helpful as the bar service guys… maybe hotel is a bit stale but generally recommended… the right price…

The receptionist is a racist. No towels provided until asked for. There is a receptionist named Sebastian who says he's the owner of the place and says he has problems with Indians staying there. Apart from that, we were told there is free internet but no, it is bloody expensive. The rooms seem like dormitories. Not maintained either. We have better options at cheaper prices. It's a no-go.

Room was decent, only caveat was the lack of AC. The cool air made it bearable. The location is just on the edge of all the activity, so it is a very convenient spot. Also, breakfast is good.

The staff was unfriendly. The rooms were really small. There is no free Wi-Fi, they even charge you for keeping the luggage after the checkout time. So if you have to leave the city in the evening you will have to pay them to keep your luggage since the checkout time is 11 a. M. The location was decent since it is 1 kms from the train station and it is also close to Duomo (1.1 kms).

Breakfast is good, but the beds are average, the Wi-Fi isn't free, and not even fast enough to do most things. The staff is nice and it is clean.

The rooms are nice, although a bit small the breakfast is good. The night staff is great but the daytime one for nothing. I also recommend not to choose any type of pension including dinner because the attached restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Yes, call Pentabistrot. You don't go out after 8:00, there's too many drug dealers in the front yard.

Looks dirty and used. Strange numbering, when room 312 was on 1st floor. Water tap leaking. Some towels we found wet, as those were put near the leaking tap by house keeping. Air conditioning preset at 24C, can't change. You can also easily hear all the neighbors. Alarm lights red and green blinking all the time. Too strict rules — not allowed to eat and drink in the room, to keep anything in the fridge and many more. Parking is with another hotel, 500 m walk, no legal place to stop nearby to register and unload luggage. Wi-Fi is not free. Unfriendly staff — upon arrival I was rejected the room despite confirmation received, as said due to failure to process the credit card. Then I've been told I was lucky they still have that room and they finally managed to process the card on 2nd attempt, admitting they were doing that process wrong previously. And in the end breakfast is only until 9.30am. All in all — a real nightmare, looks more like a hostel.

A timeless elegance. Strategically located within walking distance to the maria novella train station. Breakfast is ok. The approach to my room 309 was a bit complicated though it was located on the ground floor. I had to take a lift to the first floor from the lobby, walk to the other side and take another lift to the ground floor! It's a good hotel though.

Awful hotel. Room infested with mosquitoes (we've killed 15 in one night), dirty and not in a great State. Breakfast indecent; staff acceptable. Do not recommend it!

Louder squashed mosquitoes on the Hotelzimmerwänden, nasty toilets, complicated directions, and the public PC has me once a Windows full version.

Not sure what people are expecting for such reasonable rates, I'm having a lovely stay, breakfast is usual euro continental affair and the coffee from the machine is surprisingly good. I'm travelling with my daughter and the room is large and air con works. Staff have been polite and helpful.
