3.6 stars to be precise. It has already been mentioned in other comments, but I will say it again because without this fault, it would have been a better experience all round. The fault is that there is quite clearly a distaste of the British from quite a few of the staff. I’m not suggesting that EVERYONE had this shared view, but around 60% certainly did. I understand that people might have preferences when it comes to nationalities, but PAYING guests deserve to be treated with equal respect. Unfortunately, a few members of the staff did not have a positive attitude at all. Take for instance, the pool bar lady, named Roberta. She did not once smile at anyone. Not once. When the World Cup matches were going on, she was completely indifferent. To children and adults alike, she served a scowl with every drink. And to me, that is just not acceptable. We are the ones paying the staffs wages. There were two waiters at the restaurant who particularly stood out because of their niceties and friendliness. Their names are Stella and Samuel. They helped greatly even out the cockiness and rudeness of the rest of general staff. Another waiter I’d like to mention had a name like Chara (I’m afraid I can’t quite remember exactly, but I would like to write her name in order to show appreciation. ) To me it seemed like the Italians were treated wonderfully, but the English were given mediocre treatment. A few others I spoke to had the same view. I went having booked “all inclusive” but it turns out that it’s not really ALL inclusive when it comes to alcohol. Vodka, beer and wine were pretty much the only things you could get unless you wanted to pay. No gin or rum or anything like that is included in the all inclusive scheme. It means that making your own cocktails becomes very imaginative. One final fault I want to mention is the stupid rules. Really no other word to describe them but stupid. At the pool, for example, you can’t take your inflatables in. You can only dive twice. Perhaps in the business of summer, I’d understand this, but when I went, there were barely 5 people in the whole pool. I just think that it’s a bit ridiculous as certain life guards were sticklers for silly rules that did nothing except enforce their authority. Having said all of this, I still had a lovely time at Liscia Eldie. I got a free room upgrade (not sure how it happened, there was a mix up) and the room I had was cleaned beautifully every day and was very spacious. The resort is set out well, with restaurants and bars ideally close to the pool, and tennis courts on the other side of the reception. I advise all who go to make use of the free bus that runs to La Cinta Spiaggia (beach). The bus driver we had was also extremely rude but never mind. The beach at La Cinta is absolutely stunning, with gorgeous clear waters and white sands set against a backdrop of Sardinian mountains. Take your snorkels! The town is a non event during the day, but really comes alive during the night time. There’s a market every Friday night. The restaurant in the resort offers delectable, fresh dishes every day. Seafood, fresh fruit and veg, and a bread table are among the many delicious options. There was something different every day for lunch and dinner.
