Lovely place, romantic. On the shore of the lake, where to take 4 steps after lunch or dinner. The rooms clean, comfortable bed, all taken care of in detail both in functionality and aesthetics. Great staff. Never had so much attention and courtesy from the staff of a hotel. For me it deserves 5 stars!

Nice location, good food, nice staff. I didn't give 5 stars for one reason and it's already the second time I've known it. After eating the appetizers (buffet) and the first, the table is hastily cleared of cutlery and bread as if to imply that you do not switch to the second but directly to the dessert or coffee. I understand that after the buffet and the first one you are no longer hungry but it would be more polite to ask the customer if you want to eat something else! Also you have to have an iron memory to remember the menu that is said by voice and above all you do not know the ingredients and the price.

In my opinion, the menu is very clear, especially with regard to prices. The buffet is really varied and of good quality. Large and high-quality dishes. Beautiful location. Confidential but courteous staff who accept the customer's joke with elegance (rare quality).
We have indulged in a tour of the restaurants in our area and we feel like putting the "Old Riva" at the top of our liking. We will definitely recommend it to our customers.

Very nice place so much poorly organized staff. You are kind but incomprehensible the function of the menu. Prices are not exposed and in the choice of wines there is no list. As for the quality of the decent food with some lack. Too bad because the location is beautiful lake view both inside and outside.

Great food, very nice location, we had lunch outdoors on a day of fresh and breezy sunshine. The only sore note? Staff organized not perfectly but very friendly and polite. If you are not in a hurry it deserves even just for the food. Highly recommended!

Nice location, attentive service, elegant atmosphere,. Only flaw, a very interesting menu on paper, traditional dishes and pairings that entice,. But they don't translate into what they promise. Sweet and salty unbalanced, the flavors don't pop up from gorgeous dishes like shrimp crudité with mango sauce… (fresh raw fish, for goodness sake). The breaded mullet were a tasteless jumble, good risotto pears and brie, the cocoa noodles (on which I was aiming a lot) combined badly with a tuna sauce (cooked! ) to dadoni and alas too salty.
Another thing I didn't like: menu only by item you do not know how much you will pay if not at the time of paying. The total was in principle right, I think (I will never know precisely how much I paid what, because not even in the end the entries were specified! )
I was passing through that area, but I'm not coming back.
Too bad, because improving certain things, it would be a great restaurant.

Good pace near the Lake of Varese. Good food, Good see and Lake fish.

Restaurant on the lake of Varese with nice pergola to eat out. We were there on a Sunday at lunch and there was besides the possibility to order to the paper an internal buffet with vegetables and various appetizers (with ad hoc price in addition to that of the dishes of the menu). Overall nice and in a strategic spot for walks on the lake.

Staff really friendly especially with The kids and great kitchen. Possibility of appetizer buffet with food always fresh and tasty. As advice I would value the corner buffet with some extra light and other precautions.

I've been missing for a while… but I had a great time, some change of improvements to the room, x the rest everything as good as always from the staff to the food, good.

Good the buffet the first dishes in the norm you feel that the products are prepared in advance. The great location on the lake allows you to take long walks and access the long cycle path. Good cleaning and service.

I came back after a long time and everything was perfect! Great buffet appetizer and delicious first courses, the bunet cacao and macaroons is something sublime!
The prices are in line with the service and the food offered, the environment is cared for and the staff friendly and helpful.

Friendly staff & nice rooms. On the lake and beside the MV Augusta motorcycle factory. Free parking was a bonus since the fun fair was in town and insanely crowded. We enjoyed the included breakfast as well.

Extremely nicely located, right on Lago di Varese, excellent cuisine… only detail defects nerve a little… and the tense parking situation…

Great experience the hotel is really beautiful with the balconies overlooking the lake, the property is a mixture of rustic and modern very well taken care of the staff is always friendly and helpful the rooms always clean and tidy every day! The breakfast buffet very plentiful, for lunch and dinner I could not tell you why for commitments we could not return to the hotel but talking to other guests I was told that you eat well! As far as I'm concerned for sure I'll be back soon with my family! Ah I forgot about 200metri from the hotel there is a beautiful amusement with lots of rides.

Perfect location for banquets and ceremonies, you have the reception abroad and in reception during the beautiful season, you can benefit from the refreshments. The Chef offers excellent dishes accompanied by a good wine list. Professional room staff.

Nice Hotel near Lake Varese.

Hotel Vecchia Riva is a very nice and tasteful hotel with an excellent restaurant-we make regular stops there.

Fun to watch the Italian Crew Team work out on the lake from the terrace.

Good restaurant, great for group or corporate dinners although the room is not soundproof and it is easy that there is so much background noise.
The food and the wines are very good, but not excellent.
The staff are helpful and friendly, they know how to put customers at ease and serve them with Care.

Beautiful location, a few steps from the Lake. Staff friendly and helpful. Hearty breakfasts and possibility to stop by the restaurant for a meal. With our 2 year old daughter loved it and not far away there is a playground very wide. Possibility to rent a bike in case you want to deal with the bike path. Along the Lake. Shame about the mattress. For us a little too hard! For the rest of your stay!

Where do I start? I would say from the beginning, beautiful and externally with comfortable local and ample parking reserved, entering the atmosphere is good, beautiful, bright, clean and fresh due to the external heat wave particular from liking cannot be overlooked!
We sit, as always a bite of bread and here's the first surprise, old bread, yesterday, with the typical smell and the chewy texture of bread "held for tomorrow", the rest is Sunday, and not in all areas there is fresh bread available, however by longstanding business operator … a warmed and brought to the table by taking the orders would make a great figure instead of a grama!
We order and we go to the buffet of appetizers, vegetables on the large Pier choice, from meat to fish but almost all products manufactured and/or topped and/or spicy I mean choice excellent, good quality but I personally have given up the starter because I dislike the products manufactured and/or sauced and/or too spicy.
