This is our 2nd stay at Hotel California which is conveniently located 2mins walk from Roma Termini so we just took train from Airport. Rooms are very clean & restaurant/shops all within walking distance.

Oh my, where to start. The location of this hotel is great but that would be all. All the rest is just bad. I got a room with a shower situated next to the entrance and toilet right next to the bed. Both with almost transparent glass door. If you care about privacy, be mindful and ask about it while booking. I wanted a room for 2 people but it was way to small even for one person. The staff was very friendly though when I requested to change the room. The Wi-Fi is terrible. I had to sit on the corridor to browse internet and even then it was not always working. Breakfast is really basic and the quality of food is quite bad. The bread was a few days old and there were no options for vegetarians. One day we came back to the hotel to discover that a guy was painting the ceiling while we were gone. It was a strange situation as no one informed us about it and we had to breathe in the fresh smell of the paint the entire night. On the last day I used a jacuzzi as one of my relatives booked a superior room. All the water leaked on the floor causing a little flood. There was also a sauna but I was scared to use it as I did not wanna to burn the place down… Overall experience: not great at all, I would not come back again.

This is a great hotel! The rooms are very nice. Staying here again in a week. You can hear the sound of the tram that runs, but its only every once and awhile and it's not that big of a deal. Also, the breakfast bar needs a couple more items like a waffle maker and another hot item.

Value for money. Nothing special. 4 stars for the value for money and for the location. Close to the bus and Metro. Very convenient.

Excellent location near the central train station and many restaurants. Building is a little dated and a little noisy but the location makes it worth it. Nice clean room but could have better tea/coffee facilities.

We were blamed for breaking a piece of plaster out the door at a point where it had already been repaired and we were charged even though we had never slammed the door.
Terrible place. Breakfast is terrible.
The room sockets are not in accordance and are often disconnected.

Flee this hotel. I am obliged to put only one star for the almost non-existent insulation of the rooms. We hear everything that goes on in the hallways, everything that happens in the neighbors ' rooms, and the worst: everything that happens in the street (as if the window was open! And a tram goes down the street just below it.
For me, a hotel is made to sleep well. Now, in this one I spent the worst five nights of sleep in my life. If you have a light sleep: flee!

My experience at this hotel has been extraordinary. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Great breakfast. Varied and rich everything. I don't lack anything. The receptionist are very nice and they offer you all help. I have to make special attention to Eduardo that we attended on arrival and it was an extraordinary welcome. Definitely a hotel quality price to recommend.

Very nice and clean room (every morning the housekeepers were impeccable) particularity the sink directly in the room flaws a bit the deprived of the shower and toilet. But livable at 100% The most amazing thing was the breakfast.

I found Myself very well. 3 Star Hotel strategically located 150mt from Termini Station on practically closed road. Clean Room with Jacuzzi and sauna at a great price. Very helpful and friendly Staff. Good Breakfast Value for money 10 and praise.

There are remodeled rooms and some are not. The situation is good to get to know Rome, the area has many restaurants for good dinner price. The breakfast was good. The heating of the hotel just regular, towards something fresh.

It is a clean hotel, its breakfasts a 10 and its employees very attentive, also very close to Termini where there is metro and buses.
The only bad thing is your Wi-Fi that doesn't work or works bad.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They know several languages. The hotel is close to markets, Rome's main train station (Roma Termini), Gift shops and attractions. 20 minutes walk to Trevi Fountain, Roman Coliseum, Palatine Forum, Venice Square (Altar of the Fatherland), among others.

Stayed at Hotel California from 8 to 11 oct 17. Pre cruise visit to Rome. we both loved the place, very conveniently located, 2-3 city blocks from Termini station, 15 minute walk to coliseum. Hotel easy to find. We were in room 306, away from street traffic, as we had requested. The lift worked perfect. The continental breakfast was better than our expectation. Also near Hop on Hop off, city transit, etc the smell test is >>>>>would we stay there again if in Rome? MOST DEFINITELY! thank you H California for an enjoyable stay.

Great hotel. The location is fantastic, Roma Termini Station is nearby as well as good restaurants and a fantastic gelato place. The rooms are nice, the beds good and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Very comfortable beds and very clean rooms. A bit noisy if u would like to sleep with open window. The conditioner is working properly. Very good breakfast considering another hotels.

Estimating only 41 number. Dirty, small hole with a broken refrigerator. The Windows go to the restaurant, where up to two nights quiet.

I liked that the hotel is very close to Rome Termini making public transportation easy around Rome and to the airport with shuttle services. There are lots of restaurants and shops close by as well. The hotel room itself is nice. Has AC and an elevator. The shower was different it had no door and had a shower spray but my understanding is that is very common in Europe (I'm from the U. S. ). A little different but works fine once you get used to it.

Well by the hotel. Good rooms re well located in a super safe and two blocks away from the stops of the tourist bus.

The Hotel is in a good location, close to termini (although it is never a pretty sight due to dodgy people) and then the metro. Breakfast is international so well served and rich. The kitchen staff is very noisy though. The staff is average, they do what they have to do and are quite helpful. The Hotel is in a building where there are apartments on different floors and another hotel. The rooms are clean but very small bathroom and the toilet too, making it easy for nothing. Sink and shower are located within one metre of bed, shower, very modern with soothing lights too. The walls seem to be very thin because he feels when the door neighbors also speak softly or when I'm in the bathroom. So, for those who don't want to spend a folly and settles for a while can fit.

Good hotel, I enjoyed a couple of years ago, my friends and I have gone lately have confirmed this trend. Recommended.

The staff was friendly and very helpful. They made sure my wife and I knew which bus to take (gave us the bus number and schedule) to get to the sights we wanted to see. They even let us keep our luggage in their office AFTER check-out time so we could do a little more sight-seeing before catching our train back to Cortona. The rooms are good, not great but right on average for European hotels. The hot water was hot every time my wife or I took a shower. And that's actually above par for most European hotels. The location is great. Two blocks from Termini station, so a short walk and you can get on any bus you need or the Metro (subway). I'm not sure when we'll be back in Rome, but we will certainly have the Hotel California high on our list of places to stay.
