Beautiful hotel just two blocks from the train station. Antonio at the the front desk was very friendly and helpful. We had a lovely two story room with a small balcony, a spacious bathroom and elegant decor. The breakfast was outstanding. I am happy to recommend this hotel.

Great service, helpful staff, yummy food. The location near termini station allows you to reach all the most important sites (also within walking distance). I highly recommend it.

Appalled in the customer service at this hotel. The reception, Luigi, had the most disgusting and condescending attitude. He was very rude and short-tempered. Would not recommend if you seeking basic customer service!

Awesome hotel and location.

Everything was wonderful from the time we arrived. Bed was plush, bathroom modern and beautiful. We enjoyed a bottle of wine wonderful snacks in the bar while we were getting over jet lag. Bartender was great!

Great accommodations and it's 2 blocks away from Roma Termini. The room was very nice and the Wi-Fi was very good. Staff was very friendly as well. Very busy area so if you prefer to be away from the hustle and bustle look elsewhere.

Very nice Hotel. Very clean, well appointed. Beds were very comfortable. Convenient (walking distance and train) to everything. A few blocks away from the Roma Termini (main station to/from FCO). Food & Gelato everywhere (hey, this is Italy) and shopping is not far. I would definitely go back.

The hotel is in a great location. It is a few blocks from the train station and only a 30 minute walk from most of the major tourist attractions in Rome. There are also some good restaurants nearby. The staff speaks English for the most part and try hard to accommodate you.

This is the most unpleasant hotel stay I have ever experienced at best western plus universo in Rome.
Dirty brownish shower and sink waters + bath water spilling in the bathroom. I complained multiple times during my 3 day stay (room 436) to the hotel reception. They promised each time that they will fix the problem BUT NOTHING WAS DONE. Some of the pictures I am sharing are from 5 mns ago. I am leaving tomorrow morning The hotel and Rome with the biggest disappointment. I do not recommend this hotel for the lack of customer service for a basic bathroom comfort.

Great hotel, and very close to the subway and to the railway station. The rooms are clean and spacious. Overall a good location. Walked from him to Collise (about 30 minutes). Great breakfasts. Recommend.

This hotel is close enough to walk to the Colosseum as well as the train station, making day trips to other places quite easy to manage. The breakfasts are outstanding, served in an area at the top of the hotel, with Rome beneath you as you eat. The pool and exercise areas are upscale, quite wonderful. In the evenings you can enjoy a cool breeze from the rooftop bar.

Great location, with a lttile larger than usual size King rooms. We used our Best Western points and the six of us stayed for two nights in three rooms. The rooms were a little larger than most chain European hotels and the bathrooms were quite nice and large. We had king rooms on the sixth floor. We had to call about the A/C not getting below 72 degrees but that is just our thing. To most it would have been more than acceptable. The staff did respond as best they could by sending someone to the room to check on it twice. Thank goodness we've learned to travel with a small fan.

We only spent one night here but it was fantastic. They have a mobile phone in the room that you can take with during the day. What a winner. Audio guides, site locations, directions, shopping vouchers, calls. Etc. This was amazing and made our stay perfect. Also in a good location with plenty to do close by. Will definitely return.

Very nice Hotel, neat and clean two steps from the Termini station. Staff friendly but accustomed perhaps more to foreigners than to Italians. We were not asked the reason for the stay which, in the holiday case like ours, would have to bring them to give us a map of the city with basic directions to see the main monuments of the city and some tips to move and eat. We then asked the map (they keep entire blocks on the counter at the front desk). Little disappointment: On the second day we were not given back the soap and the bubble bath after the cleaning ride. This hotel also makes cooking gluten-free and belongs to the network of food outside the home of the Italian Coeliac association. We have indicated the presence of a celiac at the time of booking and on arrival we were told, at our request for information, to communicate it directly at the time. Classic International breakfast, very varied, gluten-free breakfast rather embarrassing. Initially he had approached me a courteous but hasty waiter who only brought me a basket of packaged products (unfortunately not very good). Then came a very good and really nice waiter who asked me if I wanted more and if you liked the frozen croissants to warm in the microwave. The look was terrible and the taste maybe even worse but I really enjoyed the attention of that waiter in my regard. I wonder though, a hotel like that that treats gluten-free food could do better? And with little.

Nice hotel, friendly staff and very helpful, some faults on the housekeeping staff that leaves to be desired, but what remediable, great restaurant and you eat great welcome in the super arrival. Located a few steps from the Termini station for tourists facilitates the movements, exiting in via Cavour you reach the Colloseo and Piazza Venezia in 15 min… Super.

The location of the hotel is perfect, just 3 minutes from the Termini Station and close to a lot of restaurants and shops. The room was clean and the bathroom was spacious! The window overlooking the street provided us with a much-needed breeze. On the other hand, the air condition was not working and the first night we couldn't handle the heat. Also, there was a 5 euro/p. P. Charge for the breakfast which we didn't know about. It's not much but I think it can be included in the price. All in all, if I were to go back to Rome, I would choose this hotel again!

Great Hotel in Rome. Nice rooms for the conventions. The clean bathrooms are the demonstration of the efficiency of the services and of the excellent management.

The location of the hotel is good. Only a few Fußwegminuten away from Rome's main railway station (termini). You can also reach almost all the sights on foot. Breakfast is available for 5 euros per person. Unfortunately we had a room which is located in the courtyard, where there were ventilation and air conditioning. So we had a very high noise level. The size and comfort of the rooms themselves were adequate and satisfactory. This hotel is recommended!

Room was quite comfortable. I could hear the bathroom noises upstairs as if someone else was in my bathroom. The neon on the bed head also blinked from the off. Good cappuccino, the rest of the breakfast in the norm. Overall I would say a little under the expectations.

Location of the hotel at two steps from Termini Station, in a quiet and not busy area, great to get to the city center. Usually clean and cozy rooms but I stayed in a small room overlooking it an inner court. Great breakfast. Helpful staff and ready to respond to our requests.

It is the first time I have used with my wife this Hotel to visit Rome and it will certainly not be the last. The Hotel is in a strategic position to visit the city both on foot and by public transport, all at two steps. The a structure is very nice with rooms equipped with every comfort, and are served excellent and rich breakfasts. We were particularly impressed by the professionalism and kindness of all the staff. Hotel really to try.

I stayed the first time at this hotel in April 2017. The room was not what I had requested and I had an unpleasant night. The hotel apologized and offered me a more than fair compensation. I just completed a two night visit and had a very enjoyable stay. Kudos to the hotel staff and management!

Highly recommend this Hotel. Location was nice and the staff excellent. All clean and organized. I was here for Vacation and all I can say is wow, I wish all the services they gave was a standard across the world. From the helpful people a the from desk all the way to the Bar / Restaurant attendants. All extremely happy and helpful. They had so many extras that should be mentioned. The free Cell phone usage during your stay with free Local and long distance calls is an extra that I was not expecting. For someone who wants to use the phone while site seeing, it is great and the apps are helpful with using GPS to get around town, be it by Bus, Metro or just simply walking around. Thank you so much for an extremely satisfying vacation, your the Best in my eyes.

Great place to stay while in Rome. Very centrally located, rooms were nice and modern, and the breakfast buffet was great! Staff was pleasant and helpful. Would stay there again if in Rome again!

Very bruiant Bad soundproofing.

I was SO pleasantly surprised by this hotel. We arrived early, not expecting our room to be ready as it was a busy Saturday in Rome, but they were able to get us in right away. The rooms are average size, but the bathroom is massive by European standards — and with a rain shower! Not to mention a furnished terrace in our 7th floor room, also with amazing views! Everything is extremely clean and we'll appointed. Definitely recommend; this hotel is lovely.

It's a comfortable, quiet hotel with good breakfast. The hotel is surrounded with nice restaurants And near shopping areas. Very accessible to Rome Termini for going by train to other cities in Italy. The bed is the most comfortable in all hotels I've stayed in. Just don't have the room with the smallest shower area, you can't even bend to soap your legs. Be careful of the slippery bathtub, if you are given. a bathtub. This hotel is better than vicinity of Best Western President.

Perfectly adequate for an overnight stay but I would have liked a little more space and better view if I were staying for longer. Very helpful staff and all you could wish for at breakfast. Very close to the central railway station so taxi fares need not be a worry.

I stayed with my husband at this hotel from 3 to 5 August 2017 for our wedding anniversary and we were very pleased. Nice and comfortable rooms, great international breakfast and very kind and nice staff. Convenient location for those arriving by train.

Very central hotel easy walking distance to most amenities. Good choice for breakfast although very busy and a little slow to top up cutlery, glasses etc. Rooms very elegantly decorated with lovely bathroom and good air conditioning which was required during July weather. Room however very small and frequent smell of sewage when air conditioning was on. No view at all however.

This hotel is in a quite good location, not the best but far away from busy streets but close enough to walk to all the major tourist attraction within a 0.5 — 1.5 mile distance going West. Very importantly we chose this hotel because it was close to the central train station so we didn't need to lug our luggage too far away and it's a 4 star hotel. The lobby was clean and compare to many hotels in Rome it looks good. Only reason we gave it only 3 stars is because of the hotel room since we originally requested a junior suite but due to being overbooked they stuck us in a standard room. Seem like many hotels were fully booked the week we were there. Oh well at least they did adjusted our cost accordingly so hotel was still trustworthy of a 4 star hotel. If we had the junior suite, this might be a 4-5 star for us. But all in all the hotel was quite good for 4 days in Rome. Couldn't wait to get home though.

The room reserved for the training activity acquired was in the norm. The stations of the participants not too generous for strong people or even simply from the bronze measures. For the rest the staff were friendly and helpful to enquiries.

The Best Western Universo is one of the best hotels I've stayed at in Rome. The location is great for train departures from Rome Termini, and also making it features for metro access. Most major sight seeing points aren't too far off either. The staff were friendly and check-in was simple and smooth. The breakfast was outstanding, featuring eggs, bacon, fruit, sweet croissants, and more! The rooms were also very comfortable and modern. I would definitely recommend a stay here.

I followed a lecture in the Annamaria room. The sound system was flawless, and there were screens in the middle of the room that replicated the screen on white. We were offered coffee, juices, biscuits etc. And then also the lunch buffet. The food and refreshments were good but not great. The service is great instead.

It was a very clean Hotel. I had that my reservation was run by Nicola. Really friendly and professional guy. Rooms are perfectly soundproof and equipped with every comfort. A short walk from the station is ideal for business trips, meeting and pleasure! I hope to come back soon!

Location is very very good, close to the station, shops and restaurants. Room was neat and tidy. The breakfast was good as well. Personnel were friendly.
the only problem is the AC that didn't work. Imagine sleeping in a sauna. Very hot! I haven't slept well in three days. Have talked to the receptionist and said they will send one to check it and do something about it. But nope. Nothing happened. Still hot. Even with windows open it's still hot.

Rooms are clean and the breakfast is good. Rooms are small but not inconsistent with other hotels in Europe. The in room Wi-Fi is free but not reliable in every room.

Location is great, just a few minutes walk from Roma Termini. The rooms are well furnished with very nice beds, but are a few degrees too warm, at least for me. Service has been very accommodating when I've needed anything (ie spare key, extra pillows, directions to good restaurants).

Great location — in the centre of Rome, 300 m far from Termini station (metro, trams, buses, trains). The staff is friendly and attentive here (both at the reception desk and in the restaurant). Everything is clean. Tea, coffee and kettle is for free in rooms. Breakfasts are tasty, there is a lot of food, but nothing special. Wi-Fi is operating well. We did not use air conditioning (February). Some low-frequency, non disturbing noise comming through the open window. I cannot say anything bad about the hotel.

I stayed in hotel universo in the middle of 2015 around mid july for my final place of my trip in italy and croatia. I went to see my family in italy and croatia at the start of my trip. Then roma was a great place to stay. The weather was too hot but still such a nice place. I was sick so I didn't get to go to the colosseum but my family did. The hotel is a great place. Good computers good breakfasts in the morning. Nice beds strong internet gym was really good but the showers were average. If I come to italia I would come back to that hotel. We did a lot of walking in rome but it was fun seeing everything great hotel.

My room smelled horrible. It's cramped. The bed is like a brick. But for one person at the front desk, they were rude. I had to stay in Rome an additional night, so I understand I could not be accommodated due to there being no availability. I stayed at a nearby hotel and regret I tolerated staying at Universo. The breakfast is low quality with instant coffee. It was clean… I can say that much.

Convenient location, just 5 min walk to Roma Termini train station, and nice staff. Annoying internet since sign in is required every time you return.

One star is too high of a rating. This hotel was the worst part of our vacation. The front desk was continuously rude and short tempered. We arrived at the hotel after a nine hour flight told that our two rooms would be ready by two although it took numerous hours to get the key to our second room therefore we had to shower our whole family and take naps in such a tiny room. Also they gave us a very small room for the same price as our other room, which is like selling a 5 liter water bottle for the same price as a 20 liter. Aside from these problems the air conditioning barely worked causing us to wake up in sweat. The hotel did not have a business center and refused access to any computers. Later we asked if they mailed postcards, which they responded no immediately after they preceded to mail a postcard. We then asked them what about that mail and they said oh that was just a favor. Please save yourself and your money and stay somewhere else! This was and is a horrible hotel.

The first night the room was not that we had booked, but the next morning we spoke with the Manager and they gave us another. At termini is ideally located by the amount of transport public. The breakfast room is too small at rush hour, that if, very full breakfast while the juices are not natural, and the coffee is naquiná self service.

They have very good service, the staff were very kindly and serviceminded. The breakfast tasted good. The rooms were clean and have high standard.

Something good is possible, but difficult to find. To work on a business trip to coveted Office. Next train station turned out to be, with all its charms: the audience, addicts, immigrants.
The hotel itself: the water goes in the shower drain poorly draining in bathroom floor (despite the pouring of water there) comes the smell of sewage. On the second day of "dropped off" in-room Wi-Fi. Only in the hotel lobby. For us is critical because the relationship needs to work. The failure message staff took the Olympic calmness: more would be Rome, eternity, here you are with your vajfaem. Breakfast too expensive and settling.

So far so good. Only been here an hour and it looks and feels very professional. Well this has to be the best hotel we have been in our whole honeymoon. Friendly and helpful staff. My wife and I stayed at this hotel from July 1st to July 5th, 2010. Our first morning there my wife and I were downstairs having a quick breakfast. In a span of about fifteen minutes a hotel employee rifled through my wife's purse which she left in the room and helped themself to $120. We noticed immediately that someone had been in our room (although they decided not to clean the room, but just steal our money). We reported the theft immediately to the hotel staff. Only hotel employees had access to the room at the time as later verified by hotel electronic records. The manager refused to assist or believe us and initially discouraged us from reporting the incident to police before finally giving us the police station information. We later spoke with the hotel president that evening who told us to obtain a police report and that we would be reimbursed for our loss through the hotel's insurance coverage. To date, although we provided our e-mail, phone number, and mailing address, we have not heard anything. This is a common scam in Rome — while we were at the police station a Japanese lady there had $2000 euros taken from her luggage at her hotel. Every hotel will deny it was their employee who always is their best employee of thirty years, etc. ; and the hotel will make you think it was your fault or that you are remembering wrong.

This hotel locates in very good position! Trip from Fiumicino airport takes aboout 40 minutes and costs 11euro/person. Location was good: Termini railway station (direct connection to Fiumicino airport! ) and metro lines are 5 minutes away from hotel and Colosseum is about 10 minutes away and costs 1 euro while using metro. Hotel by it self was clean, employees were very polite and room has air condition. While outside temperature was 36C inside temperature was 25C =). Our room was in 1st floor and room view was not so good. I did not notice any kind of annoying noise or sounds. Breakfast was OK. Only negative thing to really mention was that you have to take showers in bath tub (I don't like bath tub showers! ). Oh yeah, we ordered twin bed but really it was double beds putted together. Near by hotel has food store, 20+ Trattoria restaurants with very good food (if you like pasta/lasagna/pizza/beef food. ) and couple of more explecive restaurants with "better" food who likes to eat "better" food. Conclusion is: I will use this hotel again when we visit Rome next time.
