Lovely hotel, all staff pleasant & polite.
We found it a good location fri what we wanted to visit, Colosseum only a 35minute walk away.
Rome was a chill out time & River Palace Hotel added to it.

TL;DR: Had a less than great experience. The place is old and cleaning staff isn't very attentive. Main upside is the location which is walkable to all major attractions. Long version: We had a junior suite booked, and were given one in the courtyard. It was old but quite nice and had a little balcony looking out onto the street. Unfortunately, it smelled just awful (musty/moldy, like water had seeped into the carpet) and we asked to be moved to a different room. The second room wasn't nearly as nice, and still just as old, but at least it didn't smell. Instead, the previous occupants had left their little bathroom tubes in the window and the cleaning staff never noticed or cleaned it up. It will probably live up there forever.

Beautiful place and wonderful staff. Food is lovely rooms are pretty shower is a little small but definitely worth a visit. Best few days away.

Small but very nicely decorated rooms. The layout is a little bit odd but explore a bit and you can find the facilities which are equally well decorated. Loved it here!

Rooms are exactly as pictured. Staff was amazing and very helpful. Many options at breakfast including eggs, bacon, cereal, yogurt, and fruit. Within a 5 minute walk from the train station. The staff even leave note cards under your door with the weather tenperatures for the next day.

Excellent hotel of small size 2 steps from Piazzale Flaminio then opposite Villa Borghese and behind Piazza del Popolo so central! Great courtesy of the staff! I can not speak for the quality of the rooms we have never stayed overnight.

The room we had was extremely small and the shower room was ridiculously small, but the hotel is great. Fantastic attention to detail throughout. The Bell Boy remembers every guest's name, as does reception staff. Loved the nibbles laid out in the bar each night and I haven't seen a bed turn down service complete with sweets on the pillow in ages.

It was a very nice hotel. Internet connection Tentenna. I'll be back.

Wonderful hotel. I went on my birthday, hadn’t told them and they noticed the date on my passport at check in and when me and my boyfriend came back to the hotel that night, there was a lovely bottle of wine and a nice little note to wish me a happy birthday which I thought was lovely. Excellent location as well, don’t think we could have picked a better place to stay. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful from the minute you get there too. Would highly recommend!

Great service, although a bit of a delay between a course and the other, the rooms decently clean and the service in general in the rooms was satisfactory.

Located a bit far from the main attractions, but within walking distance to them. It is close to the main shopping area and a half hour walk to the Vatican. The facilities were basic, no tea or coffee in the room and the Wi-Fi was a little patchy. The staff were polite and helpful, but the room was quite small.

Amazing hotel and staff so accommodating even before we arrived arranged a birthday cake for my partner. So friendly and helpful when we arrived great measurements on the drinks so don't be scared by the prices especially during happy hours plus although they don't serve food they have an amazing buffet available during happy hours which is between 5-10 pm can't fault it.

Myself and my partner loved this hotel. The room was small, but fine for us both. The happy hours… with buffet each night. The turn back service with sweets. The Champagne breakfast, all made for a fabulous stay. We walked everywhere from River Palace, very central. All the staff were very friendly. What more could you want from this lovely hotel. Would definitely use this hotel again.

Hotel staff very friendly and helpful. Excellent English spoken by all. Hotel is very clean and the rooms are not a bad size (especially by Roman standards). Breakfast is fresh, plentiful and varied. Enjoying our stay at the River Palace.

We stayed here for 4 nights in January 2018 and it was more than excellent. Very clean and beautiful room and a comfortable bed for relaxing after discovering Rome. Very nice breakfast service and maids. The only bothering thing was the bathtub (old and a little broken). Furthermore, the night receptionist could have been a little friendlier.

Great location! The hotel staff were fantastic. They were so friendly and helpful! The rooms are small (as are most European hotels) and we kept getting lost trying to get to the downstairs lobby. I'll chalk that up to guest issues and can't blame the hotel :) The breakfast was very nice, enough variety and a great way to start of the day exploring. We would certainly stay there again!

Very nice hotel, well located. Too bad there is no parking so be careful either you find a paying place on the street which is rare in Rome, either the hotel staff is responsible to park the car in a nearby parking for 30 €/day. Breakfast excellent and very varied. The staff are very friendly and small care with the guests!

Stayed at River Palace for roughly 2 weeks. The rooms were small, yet comfortable. The staff was very ready to help you at a moment's notice. The breakfast was excellent and well set up in the morning. Check in and check out was simple and easy. Overall, my experience was very pleasant.

Elegant and cute classic-style Hotel. Well cared for in details. Strategic position, near the metro line A of Piazzale Flaminia, practically you are in the center of Rome (Piazza del Popolo). Very clean room, TV with Sky, cured in details. Room service fast. Paper weather forecast with treats. The staff is very kind, attentive and meets your needs. Luggage custody Service both on arrival and departure. Excellent international buffet breakfast, offering a rich variety of dishes.
You can enjoy the bar, also as Apericena. Reasonably priced for a four star hotel. Extremely positive judgement.

Good atmosphere, attractive bar area, all very clean, excellent free breakfasts. Yes, rooms aren't huge but who wants to stay in the room when so many attractions are on your doorstep. Staff were terrific, friendly and efficient, a great help in dealing with a nearby restaurant that spilled red wine over my stone-colour jacket…

Went here on our honeymoon. Staff was very nice and polite, and spoke English well. Location is very good, Central to Rome and easy to get to the Vatican by walking.

The staff are very friendly and professional. The service has been amazing, and I have no complaints. The service has been spectacular, and it is all the little things the staff have done that have made staying at this hotel a pleasure.

As others have stated, the location is very good. Close to lots of shopping and the metro. However the rooms are very outdated and small. My wife and I were traveling for our honeymoon and we didn't even have anywhere to place/open our suitcases in the room. The wallpaper is showing it's age and who even knows how old the carpeting is… The shower was a single stall shower, just big enough for your body. Be prepared to bang your elbows a lot. The outside of the hotel has not been kept up either… it does not look like the pictures from the website, we almost walked right past. Not romantic in the least so we left to stay at a different hotel. Staff was nice though and the happy hour seems like a good deal. Guess they have to draw people in somehow.

This is an excellent hotel. The staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly, and because of its central position, it makes walking in the city convenient. The 5 — 10pm "Happy Hour" with the free bar snacks takes place in a very comfortable setting that provides a friendly meeting place.

Vernissage of the exhibition of paintings "In Cineris Aurum" by Fabrizio Obalowu. Nice location, beautiful pictures (I bought one…). I think I'm going back. The show continues until mid-March, I think.

Nice location for the rest should be revised… dated furnishings, breakfast not up to the height and uncomfortable the double lift to get into the room (the first takes you only to floor 1 then you have to go out make the hallway and take the next)

Great hotel. Maybe a little pricey but on the other hand it's a four star.

Stay of 3 days (2nights) in the suite "Villa Borghese" located on the top floor and with the panoramic terrace.
1. The room begins to age and it shows. Tapestries and paints discolor and the floor has tasks in places. The bedding is excellent. Poor soundproofing (doors slamming from 7am).
2. The bathroom with the Jacuzzi is clean and beautiful but the fittings obsolete and the temperature is very hard to adjust. The laundry (towels and bathrobes) made available is worn.
3. The panoramic terrace is large but the view is not great (cranes and works in the street).
4. Very average breakfast compared to other establishments in this price range.
5. Welcome and very pro staff and able to advise good tables in Rome.
An average stay in view of the price of the room. Other establishments offer more beautiful services for this price.

I go to Rome at least once a year and this is the best hotel I've ever stayed in the city. Extremely friendly and helpful staff, superb breakfast and very near all main touristic attractions. Can't wait to come back! A big thank you to all the team!

Extremely attentive staff from reception through to the breakfast waiting staff, nothing too much trouble. On the doorstep of the metro system and within walking distance of all attractions… take a good pair of walking shoes… there is lots to discover!

The reception and the room are excellent, the minibar and bar has normal rates and happy hour with small buffet… One more! Very nice! The decor could be more modern but everyone's tastes…

Excellent room, excellent service. The only trouble was that they were chemically treating the rooms in April and since they were overbooked they tried to put us in a room that had been chemically treated but not yet cleaned. The fumes were choking. They gave us a lot of grief about it and we only later found out we weren't the only guest they had to re-book to other hotels because of the same issue. We stayed in the hotel later in the week on a different floor and they was great. In summary, great staff and rooms but the management has some ethical reflections about putting people in rooms that would not pass US OSHA requirements for chemical exposure. If you are chemical treating, you can't book those rooms.

The hotel was clean and had good water pressure. However, it is in no way a '4 star hotel' and dinner if the glowing reviews on TripAdvisor seen a little… exaggerated. An adequate hotel if you set expectations appropriately.

It is beautiful here, 100m from the beach but a bit dirty, the beach, the hotel is very clean and well maintained worth.

Great staff and location! The furthest attraction is the Colos. And its only 30 mins by walk. Spanish Steps/Fountains are only a few minutes away. Staff members were great and breakfast was above average. Rooms for me were a little small for me being used to American hotels but the decor was nice. An added plus was that the cable provider they use ables you to choose whther you want to watch dubbed movies/shows in its original language lol.

Beautiful hotel, but was not happy that it was located in a very noisy neighborhood. The breakfast and services were great, except during breakfast noise from construction could be felt and heard.

The only thing good about this hotel was the location you have to use two elevators every time the bathrooms are too small and the rooms are too small and the breakfast isn't the best but the staff is kind sort of.

When in Rome, this is the hotel to stay at. The staff is superb. Sergio was at the front desk most of the time during our stay and catered to our every need. The hotel itself is superior. Rooms are of nice size, we did get a deluxe. It is worth the extra cost and the Bar's happy hour quite generous. You cannot beat the location. Walking to all. Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain, Vatican and even a long walk to the Coloseum. You cannot beat this hotel. We will be back.

Stayed here after a few days in Tuscany. The hotel is a superb value in my opinion. Clean and well maintained overall. The fixtures and overall "hardware" are not ultra modern, but they're good quality and generally in good order. The room was clean and quiet. The breakfast spread is more than adequate. And the hotel staff were consistently superb. I'd certainly stay here again for a night or two. Location is exactly where I want to be in Roma.

Small but Hotel Nice — so the resume after a week-long stay at the river Palace. In walking distance to the Metro station away — within sight of the P. De Popolo — the hotel is an optimal starting point for the visitors to Rome. The hotel staff are very friendly and obliging. The breakfast is clearly above the level of Italian. Of course no there is free Internet access in the hotel lobby and the extended happy hour at 50% prices between 18 00 and 22 00 watch. The as frequently stated the room is very small is acceptable — given the location and the price-performance ratio. Little extras round out the total package.
