You get the best view of the grand canal! Staff s are very friendly and food at the terrace is pretty good and the atmosphere is super romantic! 🥂

The Gritti Palace is stunning! The Suites are decorated spectacularly — note this building is from 1460 and I love the fact they’ve kept the integrity of that era. Same owner as St Regis Florence and many familiarities inside between the two even though different locations.

My husband and I just had an amazing stay at the beautiful Gritti Palace. Our evening meals on the terrace were wonderful and the service impeccable.
We were checked in by the lovely Giorgio and had the most wonderful surprise when he showed us to our incredible upgraded corner suite room with views straight onto to the Grand Canal which was absolutely stunning! We were very fortunate and truly stunned by the beauty of the suite, speechless actually!

Would highly recommend The Gritti Palace Terrace for an evening meal. My wife and I enjoyed a lovely evening meal last night as part of our honeymoon and the service was second to none. As a muslim couple who required a specific menu the staff assured and assisted us in the best way possible when selecting our meals. We will be back when visiting Venice in the future and encourage everyone to do so too. 10/10 for taste, service and ambience. Thank you to the staff at Gritti Palace.

This is one of the greatest hotels I have ever stayed in — I am a platinum SPG member and I have stayed in various SPG hotels within US as well as Europe. A shout out to Roberta for accommodating me and my parents by providing us a detailed walk-through of the hotel upon arrival. The room was awesome with scenic views of the Grand Canal. The breakfast was delicious and filled with variety, given that we are vegan! I highly recommend it… I'll be back with my future wife!

The place was very nice. The view in the dining area outside was nice as well could have been covered more from the sun. 1200.00 a night? Nothing special about the room. I’ve stayed in hotels for 200 a night that had better rooms. The food was ok. I really had nothing that wowed me. Asked for a double jack Daniels and coke and they said 52 euro. Seriously? Ok the bottle of jack costs 30 euro. It’s whiskey folks. It isn’t aged. Or have gold in the bottom. I could understand a glass of aged wine coming to that much. But that has to be the biggest rip off I’ve ever heard of. Told the guy I’ll go buy my own bottle and drink it in my room. All in all you are paying for a name. Which to tell you the true didn’t impress me much. I didn’t find the staff overly nice or that helpful. But 4 star for the effort. To get a 5 they need to tighten there game a bit.

A historic residence which went through a remarkable restoration to it's former glory, I am so happy we chose to stay at the Gritti Palace as it was the perfect place to start our Venice experience! As soon as you enter the quaint lobby to check in you know you are staying somewhere special! Waking up looking out to the canal and seeing the gondoliers starting their day was magical. We enjoyed both breakfast and early evening aperitifs on their beautiful floating canalside restaurant and it was so fun to people watch. Our suite was just spectacular, with particular mention to the stunning marble bathroom! So many pieces of art and history on the walls in the suite and throughout the hotel. The staff were extremely personable and welcoming. It's all in the little details and everything about this hotel was outstanding! It was so convenient taking a private boat transfer from the hotel pier to the cruise terminal. They know how to make you feel like royalty at this hotel and even if it's out of your usual budget, it's well worth the splurge for a special occasion! This hotel will always have a special place in my heart!

Lots to like. Buffet breakfast that is up to international standards, impressive decor, great service. What they need to improve: 1) outside dining in August is sweltering. A few fans would have made it tolerable. 2) The hotel is so historical, a pamphlet to explain the history since 1475 to modern times… and maybe list famous people that have stayed there, maybe in your room!

If there was ever a hotel I wish I could have stayed in, it would be this one. I had read a little about this hotel prior to my visit to Venice, and decided to add it to my itinerary. We briefly passed by for coffee and nibbles, which we enjoyed canal side — a memorable experience. The whether was beautiful, the view breathtaking, and the coffee tasted great. We couldn't have asked for more. I have no doubt we'll visit Venice again, and I definitely intend to stay here for at least one night.

We came for lunch and were not disappointed. Fantastic Service was prompt Food was excellent. Best we have eaten in Venice. Annoyance was the rat deterrent outside of you still have high frequency hearing it will annoy you. Can even hear it in the hotel lobby. Well appointed and beautiful. The San Clemente may have exclusivity but this has the grandeur.

The location is amazing and the hotel is beautiful but I have been dining at the Gritti for thirty years and the food is just not good enough. My family and I, a party of six, had lunch on Saturday and it was extremely disappointing once again! The service was miserable and the food was very plain without any flavour whatsoever. They seem to depend on the beautiful location but it’s just not good enough. An establishment such as this can surely afford a decent chef… perhaps they need to recruit a French or British chef who knows what they are doing. That said the food in Venice is terrible and overpriced and for that matter the food in Italy is rubbish compared to France or even the UK unless you stick to simple pasta or dare I say it pizza. Come on Gritti Palace sort it out. I have to add that’s food at the Monaco, Daniele and Cipriani are all dreadful too. In thirty years I cannot for the life of me remember a decent meal in Italy… oh hold on. Villa Saint Michelle in Florence had great lobster gnocchi but that’s it… when I visit France the food is always spectacular and I mean in the regular restaurants not one, two and three Michelin star places. They love to take your money but they certainly don’t give you any value whatsoever.

Opulence, absolute jaw dropping beauty and the historic feeling and creaking floors takes you to another era. I stayed here for just 3 nights as Veniceis a place quickly explored however returning here after a day out was absolute pleasure. We took one of the beautiful Christopher Craft toy boats there from the airport and that was the perfect lead in to this delicious experience. Breakfast on the water was a caviar experience. If I return to Venice, I will return here.

Breakfast at the Gritti palace in Venice. So so beautiful in terms of aesthetics and scenery. We had breakfast outside near the canal, it was all set out perfectly with attentive staff. Breakfast however was not great. I got an egg Benedict with spinach and it was sour/bread was a little dry. It’s not something I expected from a 5* hotel food wise. The coffee was good as well as the other juices and the croissant. For that I’ll rate this place 4* due to the disappointing breakfast (for the price).

Stopped here for an apéro and we were not disappointed. Shaded and with glass surrounding the terrace bar, pigeons and seagulls didn’t bother us. There were one or two enterprising pigeons, however, and the staff shooed them away with spray water bottles. Nice view of the water and good service. The prices are high but it’s a great place to get away from the crowds.

Iconic hotel with all the bells and whistles you’d expect. Best breakfast in Venice. Cool bar with a great range of grappa, not cheap though, but there are genuine Pietro Longhi paintings hung on the plush walls albeit darkened by age.

From the moment we stepped off the private water taxi (highly recommended) and into The Gritti Palace we could not have been more impressed. Greeted on arrival by perfectly dressed porters and luggage whipped away while we were escorted to check in to be welcomed by Silvia who has been at the hotel for 10 years and guided us through the hotel and it’s facilities seamlessly. If you want a quiet room we would highly recommend the 4th floor where we stayed. The Venetian styled room and marble bathroom oozed Old Skool charm and perfectly presented — including flowers for my wife’s birthday. The staff are attentive and always polite and nothing’s a problem. Breakfast is immense (pre book with your room or it’s a hefty 55 euros each) White suited waiting staff, thick starched tableclothes and heavy set coffee pots ensure you continue to be impressed with the luxury this hotel offers. Grab a table by the window and watch the hustle of The Grand Canal while sipping your coffee. We visited in March and despite the rain doesn’t stop you from enjoying this magical city with it’s narrow lanes and waterways to explore without the hoards of summer tourists! Don’t want to leave …

Not so sure what all the fuss is about. It’s a lovely hotel but it’s not flawless & for the prices they charge I was expecting more — although I understand that Venice is expensive. Rooms are small & some are very dark. First room they put us in had a very noisy air con unit outside. Asked to be moved — which we were, but no offer of a bottle or glass of something as an apology for the inconvenience. We would’ve appreciated a gesture of a glass of bubbly. Breakfast was good, and the location is very good. Staff were pleasant but service was quite impersonal. I’d probably give 3.5 stars if I could do so.

A luxury palace for luxury stay. Since I arrived I felt like at home – service was top quality and very attentive. Beautiful spacious room, stunning views on a river and delicious (vegan) dinner. Wonderful place!

A delightful setting with all details well cared for. All staff excellently prepared, kind, and pleasant. If you have some time, spend some of it admiring the flowers and the arrangements they are in; I doubt anyone could be at The Gritti and not notice, however they may change the lobby's decor seasonally. I had a junior suite. An absolute perfect experience. Welcome champagne, sparkling water, and note card of course. Fruits, chocolates and a view. Many more little details, including a butler. Beauty. Felt like royalty.

An excellent experience to stay at such a famous place but not all the hoopla that's made about it. The room overlooking the canal was the focal point, of course. I was disappointed however on how much the staff and restaurant traded on the reputation instead of proving it. A little stiff going with the concierge, et all. The lovely restaurant had average food but above average service. You are well taken care of, but most hotels in Europe do the same.

To the unsuspecting… expecting to pay circa 250euros for an awesome venue and food… the location is amazing but beware of the fish if the day it will bite you! advertised at 25 euros we were told it was a sea bass and too big for one portion so my wife and I had the whole fish. When it came to paying we were shocked to find that we had been charged 150 euros for the pleasure. I don’t normally write reviews but feel, with hindsight, we should have been told about the cost. I would use the analogy ‘emporers new clothes’ about the Gritti palace — the food really was quite average and service efficient but a bit starched. The total bill with a ‘cheap’ bottle of wine cane to 350 euros. We won’t be going back. Notwithstanding it was a memorable evening!

The place is beautifully authentic but the food in the lounge was not good. The euro 44 cheese plate was nothing compared to the Danieli’s. The club sandwich chewy and the French fires below par.

I am originally from NYC and very spoiled y the food. I think NYC has the best restaurant in the world right.
But… how I was really surprised by the great food in this place. I think this restaurant has one of the best food and can easily compete with restaurants in NYC… the good and service is unbelievable. The raw fish plate is die for. Everything is fresh from the local fish market. You can eat fish from Andriatic or Mediterranean Sea. The great selection of the local wine. And the great service.
I strongly recommend this restaurant to everyone who visits Venice.

As someone who travels around the world often, I would say that this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in in many years. From the great location to the beautiful rooms this is a must stay. The hotel staff are some of the best I have seen in my travels.

Absolutely beautiful hotel with 5-star service. The room exceeded expectations. The breakfast buffet and the cocktails at the bar were delicious. The canal view is spectacular.

Excellent location at Grand Canal (accessible by water taxi). Luxurious rooms. Breakfast buffet was not the best I had in Italy — nothing special in regards to fruit, cheese, or cold cuts — so it was clearly overpriced, but maybe that's just Venice.

Centrally located in Venice, it's one of the most beautiful place I have ever stayed at. It being a 16 century palace, adds aristocracy. Hotel services and restaurant quality is excellent. Sit in the terrace of the bar on the Grand Canal and after you give the room top judgement and extra staff too good greetings to all.

My boyfriend got a room here using points for our two night stay in Venice. We arrived at around 1:30 pm, and the staff profusely apologized that we needed to wait about 10-15 minutes for our room. Since we were early, we didn't anticipate even having a room yet, but they asked to order some drinks while we waited and we of course obliged. Turns out they took care of our drinks at the bar, and we got an amazing upgraded room complete with a bottle of wine and view of the canal/basilica. I am a Marriott Platinum life member, and I am thoroughly impressed with the service and quality of this hotel. I would highly recommend to everyone.

Beautiful hotel, great cocktail, below average afternoon tea, rude and arrogant reception/concierge. When I wanted to give feedback to the reception, They were shocked and annoyed that I have "feedback". In a very rude manner and agressive tone, he challenged me "You want to complaint?! Is that what you want? " 5 star property with 1 star service. Worst service experience in my life.

November 2015 we travel to Venice, staying at this hotel. I have stayed at several luxury hotels, I have to say here to enter hotels are the top two. Reception, lobby, restaurant services have nothing to say. As we arrived, the hotel sent us flowers, a bottle of wine and champagne. After the first day, all staff at the hotel could say our names, and come back at night and in the morning we say hello. We will definitely visit again.

Probably the nicest hotel in Venice. The regular rooms are small but the suites are gigantic. Service is very good and the restaurant is top notch. The views of the grand canal are phenomenal. Of course everything is very expensive, so be prepared.

I stayed in Gritti on a business trip in Venice last week. It was amazing! Everything was great, service is exceptional, the food is delicious! VERY HELPFUL staff Overall experience just fab!

This is probably one of the best hotels in the world. It's expensive, but we stayed here 2 nights for our honeymoon and absolutely loved it! The room was very large, the Wi-Fi was great, the AC worked well, the bathroom was large and very nice, and even their free soaps/shampoos/lotions were of great quality. The staff was very nice and the concierge helped us several times to find a place to eat and suggest which gondola ride to take. This is where all the celebrities stay when they're in venice, so expect a great stay and a big bill :)

Excellent hotel with very professional staff. The suites are exceptional, although some of the decorations, while appearing expensive, are really made of plastic. I believe the hotel was recently renovated, but the property keeps its charm. The view from the hotel restaurant is beautiful in the evening, and the food at the restaurant is well prepared.

The hotel terrace is one of those pleasures that we should enjoy at least once in life.

After spending 3 fabulous days in Venice staying at the Griiti Palace Hotel, I have nothing but praise and admiration for the Staff. Nothing was to much of a problem, we were helped with advice on where to eat, where to go, and what to see. The bar staff, Concierge through to the Manager were fantastic! Nothing was a problem and every thing was attended to in a friendly personal and professional manner,
