Absolutely perfect location. Having the jetty at the hotel is brilliant, water taxi's everywhere. Water bus very close and walking to everywhere. Staff are great, room was good enough fir the price and clean. Test of the hotel us beautiful as well as the two restaurants. We would go back for sure.

Right from the start we were put off. The guy on receiption was rude and arrogant. The room 332 was tiny and looked into a light well. The shower cubicle was beyond small. The high water happening when we were there and there absolutely no information regarding the plans in place. The breakfast was appalling with watered down juice terrible under done watery scrambled eggs and basically raw bacon. When things ran out it took forever to be restocked. We have stayed there before and really enjoyed it none of the issues encountered this time
Very dissatisfied and will never stay there again but I expect they don't care. The bar staff were great perhaps the grumpy turf on receiption could learn from them.

Stayed here for 2 nights earlier this week, very helpful concierge and staff members, great Restaurant with an even greater view. This hotel is located in the best spot in Venice as well!

We came here on our honeymoon. From the moment we got here they made us feel like nothing was too much! They upgraded us immediately when they knew it was our honeymoon & we had the best stay! We had an amazing room with a terrace overlooking the grand canalS Venice is a beautiful city and was made even more beautiful by our stay here! We will be returning every year on our wedding anniversary for sure!

We had a wonderful stay just this past week. Convenient location and clean rooms. The bar area was right in the waterway and we spent every evening there. Our kids were safe in the hotel and catered to on a daily basis. Rooms are quaint and charming. Bathrooms are small but clean and functional.

This place has the best Tiramisu I have ever had. Just a short walk from the train station! The hotel restaurant is phenomenal. I will only stay here on Venice.

Staff at reception not so helpful. No air-con, shower area too small. The furniture and facilities have been aging.

We had 2 nights here in September. Our beautiful room had two balconies overlooking the Grand Canal. The staff were lovely and very helpful for local information. The breakfast buffet was great with a large selection to choose from and evening dinner was very special sat overlooking the canal. Would highly recommend this hotel.

We loved this hotel. Amazing location. The lobby areas are picturesque of what you imagine a nice hotel to look like. Room was nice, although slightly outdated. Good size bathroom. The porter greeted us when we checked in and showed us to our room and carried our bags. Nice touch. My favorite thing was the free buffet breakfast. Amazing selection of eggs, fruit, waffles etc. And access to a fancy coffee maker for espresso, americano, latte etc. Filled up on lots of coffee and eggs, everything was delicious. Great views on the back “patio” by the breakfast area, facing the canal for relaxation time. 25 min walk to main plaza. 10-15 for main restaurants. No complaints!

Hotel with landing on the Grand Canal near the train station. Convenient for both the taxi boat, which arrives directly at the hotel, and for the steamer stop (three minutes walk). Elegant and refined in the interior. Rooms well furnished and very clean, some overlooking the Canal. Plenty of international breakfast. Staff.

Top-notch hotels. Available and efficient staff. I was 2 times always relying on offers that provided the master bedroom at 125 euros per night. Price that for the level of the hotel for the centrality and for Venice is absolutely advantageous. The first time they even gave me a room on the big canal and overlooking the balcony it seemed to me to be a star greeted by all those who passed by gondola or vaporetto. The second time for the same room they asked me for a 50 euro surcharge and I gave up.

Visited this Magnificent hotel set overlooking the grand canal in July 2018 — had an amazing room with a balcony watching Venetian life go on. Great location near the train station which was perfect for us as we were travelling by train. Breakfast was incredible as we sat outside overlooking the canal and watching the pigeons — heavenly hotel — one to tick off your bucket list.

We have been in Europe since 24th July and this without any doubt is the worst hotel we have stayed in. The accommodation is basic at the best, hardly any room in the bedroom, the bathroom is tiny and the shower is so small that you can't bend over to pick up something from the floor. The breakfast this morning was quite poor, little fruit and hot buffet only consisted of scrambled eggs and bacon. The staff generally are rude and do not explain things to you. For instance I was having a shower and thought the cord in the shower was for a fan so I pulled it. When I returned to the bedroom the AC was showing help so I rang reception was asked if I pulled the cord and got told off when I said yes. The Wi-Fi works intermittently constantly coming in and out. I would not stay here again.

We are currently staying here and fly back tomorrow. The hotel itself is in a fab location — our room was absolutely fine but nothing out of the ordinary for it to be considered a four star hotel. I’m easily impressed and it takes a lot for me to be annoyed and to leave a bad review. I have stopped in three star locations before and have had a far better experience and room — the biggest let down was purely down to the hotel manager and SOME of the staff here. The reception staff are not welcoming — even when they’re not busy. The manager of the hotel was rude to us on one occasion when we approached to ask where we could sit to enjoy a few drinks and his abrupt attitude and rudeness was enough for us and so we spoke to the manager directly about his lack of manners and fair enough — he did apologise and offer desserts (to which we declined because we don’t care about getting free food we just wanted somebody to show us common courtesy). We have paid to stop here for four nights and today were rudely informed that we weren’t able to sit outside with our ice cream even though we’d ordered drinks from the hotel bar to sit outside with too. There were no signs on the tables and/or outside to state this — only when we spoke to the staff behind the bar were we told and shown a tiny sign saying outside drinks and food could not be consumed at the terrace tables (why was this sign not on the tables and/or posted anywhere? ).

The location was good and easy to identify. The hotel was very clean and organized. The staff was nice and welcoming, as well as very helpful. The rooms were delightful and perfect for our group. Definitely helped made our trip special!

EXCELLENT RESTAURANT SIVOLI! We booked in this wonderful place to celebrate an important anniversary in the family and everything was more than live up to the expectations! We were greeted with a typical Venetian aperitif and made at the time (Rossini with a light velvety of strawberries and prosecco), which I highly recommend. To follow we were made to sit in the magnificent terrace by the Grand Canal for dinner. From there we were pampered by excellent wine and excellent seafood (to taste the frying because it is not the simple fry! It is dry and made with fresh fish… And you hear! ) We recommend the mixed appetizer of fish because depending on the season proposes the most delicious fish of the moment (the Moeche were a real pleasant surprise! )
The dessert was finally something divine: Semifreddo All'amaretto!
Mrs Lucia who followed us throughout the meal was very kind and attentive to our requests, a sign of her experience and professionalism.
Recommended! We will be back as soon as possible.

The room was very hot even though they told us that the air conditioning was at optimum level. The staff was not very friendly, and would not recommend places to go see or eat. The hotel was kind of run down especially for a 4 star hotel. The furniture looked cheap.

Good hotel for a 1 or 2 night stay. Staff is very friendly, the room was clean. The breakfast right in front of the canal was also good. The shower is very small. Overall hotel is old looking, but I guess that's how most of them are in Venice. A great place for a short stay. Would definitely recommend.

This was the second time that we've stayed at this hotel. The first time, about 4 years ago, we were satisfied with our stay and appreciated it's location, particularly near the station and on the Grand Canal, the reasons why we returned. At this time we had a small, but comfortable, room with a balcony from which we could view the canal and passers by.
However, this stay was far from being satisfactory. We paid a considerable sum of money, well in advance, and upon arrival were greeted with complete brevity by the reception staff and were given room 243 with a view of internal roof and nothing else. Added to this, we had requested a double bed room with air conditioning. We had two single beds placed next to each other and the air conditioning was controlled from the front desk.
We contacted the reception desk and were informed that the hotel was fully booked, (the usual statement one receives and which I challenged to no avail), and with the same brevity that I had earlier received.
Fortunately, the reception staff were able to send up a nice man to adjust our two single beds into a double but it's still not the same and our night's sleep was disturbing due to the firmness of the bed.
Breakfast was satisfactory but not overwhelming.
Overall, we not recommend this hotel and definitely will not return.

What’s wonderful stay in Venice the hotel Principe was clean staff were courteous and friendly. The room was clean and had enough space for European standard. Breakfasts were great with a selection of eggs, bacon, pancakes sweets coffee team and juices. The breakfast room looks into the canal. Will definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family. Loved the 12 check out time too.

I made a 2-room, 3 night reservation via their web site and they had my credit card. That morning our flight was cancelled due to snow and the airport was closed. I immediately called the hotel to work out an arrangement. But, they billed the full amount. I offered to pay 1/2, even to get a voucher for a future visit. They said I needed to do so via email. (very suspicious). They do NOT respond to any email. So, I highly recommend that you do not use this hotel. They are unreasonable and unresponsive. I've never had this sort of treatment in 50 years of world travel. It is totally unacceptable.

Lovely hotel here for my birthday staff was so friendly. Could do enough for us … Erica was very helpful with things. It was some of the guests that was roud not the staff. Yes we had a room looking over the back street but didn't bother us. Would stay here again on a four night break. Would highly recommend it.

Hotel Principe Venice Pros: it’s in Venice, and there’s nothing wrong with the hotel. Hot water nice and hot. Cons: Room (509) and bathroom were small. Internet OK some nights, bogged down others. Water pressure a bit low. WARNING: My room had a step up from the room to the bathroom. It’s a major hazard! Value 5/5.

The place is nice, but rooms are small and hotel does have an odor most of the time, but so does Venice.

Lovely Hotel immaculately maintained. Lovely features such as Merano glass lights everywhere. Slightly disappointed with my room as it had no view just a very small courtyard but was very clean and bedding changed daily also no shower curtain which was awkward. Hotel cocktail bar brilliant, wonderful cocktails which I enjoyed every night. Great position near Railway Station and coach station. Highly recommended.

On the Grand Canal and just a short walk from Santa Lucia station. It is charming to sleep in Venice and this hotel is perfect. Good breakfast and the level of cleanliness. Can advise.

On my birthday, on March 16th, my kids booked this 4 star hotel near the station.
In another city this hotel would have been a 3 star but Venice in my opinion is super rated.
The reception is wide and very flashy albeit of very dated style and the staff very friendly and welcoming.
The room that they booked with Trivago paying the two nights upfront to tick a better price (358, €0 for two nights), was the Classic.
They are based on the photos published both on the official website of the hotel and on the various platforms.
Don't trust the pictures.
We are assigned a room on the second floor in the style of the 70 years, overlooking an interior cloister, with an outdated TV that takes only a few channels, a shower also aged and a furniture that has nothing to do with what is proposed photographically.
Good value the International Style breakfast room overlooking the grand Canal.
The price is not adequate.

The hotel was beautiful and the breakfast was great value for money. The hotel was situated in a great place only a few hundred yards from the train station. The only downside we found was on arrival the manager at the check in desk came across quite rude and not very welcoming with one word answers and no eye contact but the rest of the staff were very helpful and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Great location if you want to be near the train station. Nice breakfast buffet & dining room. Enjoyed a large room with a side window view of the Grand Canal.
A 20-25 min walk to St Mark's Plaza if you know the way!

The hotel principle is very well placed, it overlooks the Canal, the rooms also, the prices are correct and the welcome and correct too. It's really perfect, perfect, perfect.

Room was a bit dated. There was no control for the room temperature. The front desk gentlemen we're a bit surly as was the wait staff. The food was mediocre at best. Breakfast was a long line if you get there when they open. There is a strange consistent layout: coffee cups are after the machine so when you step ahead to get your cup the line follows and then you have to push back to get your coffee. Same for cereal. Other than that it is a convenient location.

Do four stars at this 4 star hotel located near the train station. I found the value for money really great. The hotel is very elegant and the staff is just as much. Impeccable service. I have a beautiful memory of breakfast with great canal view. Take into consideration if you stay in this beautiful city.

Good Central position on Grand Canal and near railway station. Rated as 4star but not really upto that standard, say 3. Bit tired in places but in course of redecoration during our stay. Would use hotel again if visiting Venice again.

Thanks to an on line offer we had a double at great price. Very close to the train station. Wow. Already from the front desk you understand you are in a level place. Architecture and furnishings are really old… But clean and well maintained. Great bathrooms… Very spacious shower. The breakfast is varied and abundant and the room that overlooks directly on the Grand Canal… It's priceless!

4 Star Hotel in a very convenient location from the station but peripheral than the most touristic sestieri. Welcome and services Yes good level but the property would need a refurbish, the rooms feel the age and the trimmings would be refreshing. Breakfast acceptable but not memorable. Quiet rooms with human temperatures.

Breakfast is served in a beautiful lounge overlooking the big canal, it is very varied for both sweets and salty.

Very chic hotel, very well located (Canaregggio and railway stations), overlooking the Grand Canal. Nice view from the restaurant, very friendly staff. On the other hand, the economical rooms are very poorly soundproof and the finishes leave a desire (broken rod, broken shower wall).

A little pricey but very central, close to the station with dedicated staff, courteous and helpful. The room was well furnished in perfect Venetian style, spacious and with a personal balcony… Good also the supply for breakfast.

Great hotel, classic style, with need of renovation, very clean, has very good services and views to the canal. A few meters from the station of Santa Lucia and in a pleasant area and good communicated with Buquebus.

Very poor staff attendance. My Grandma and myself arrived and they did not have a room ready for both of us so slept in a small temporary room the first night. The second night I finally moved in to my room and the smell from the bathroom was so awful that I awoke from my sleep and had to call reception. They said they could not do anything till the morning and didn't even offer anything in the meantime, so I had to lay there not sleeping till the morning to move rooms again. The breakfast was also disapointing considering we were in Venice where the pastries are meant to be amazing. I would not recommend this Hotel.

Sometimes friendly pleasant staff that depends on the mood and especially the price one pays for the stay in fact I got an offer clean and beautiful less than 160 euros for 2 nights and cela it is felt.
Full breakfast sugar dirty coffee machine, juice of orange jam puncake…
I would recommend this hotel but at a certain price for me it mustn't exceed 120euros night with p' breakfast.

My favorite spot in Venice. If you arrive by train or car and don't want to drag a bag all over the island, this is the place to be. Three minutes from the station,, six from the bus stop. Free breakfast in a beautifully appointed breakfast room on the canal. Rooms can be either on the canal (which is romantic, appointed well, but too noisy) or an internal rooms. Price not over the top expensive either. But always do a Google search for different site price. I would go back for a third time on my next visit if ever possible.

We went on a Trafalgar tour of several cities in Italy. One of best nights was having dinner at the hotel with waiters in white jackets, live piano music also in white jacket, wonderful dinner and music ad we looked out the windows seeing the gandolas going by. It's been three years since and we enjoyed the hotel right on the Grand Canal. Lovely.

The stay here was good, although it is quite a hard place to find if first visit the city, location is awesome though close to main streets to do shopping or eating.

The hotel is located very close to the station. St. Marco square is a 20 minute walk away. The rooms are excellent.

5 days in April 2014 in couple. Room with view on the grand canal. Very nice, clean and spotless. Hotel very well placed for discovering Venice and the wake up with the life of the grand canal. Perfect soundproofing of rooms, rich breakfast, as well as an excellent restaurant.

Perfect hotel, in the heart of Venice (it is a small city, you are close to everything), along the grand canal, close to the train station and the bus station.
Everyone speaks french and is welcoming, caring for their customers.
Breakfast is fresh and plentiful, for everyone. The coffee, however, deserves to be best.
The room (ours anyway, overlooking a small square), although small was very nice, too hot though. A bit of noise from the outside, but Venice is a very lively city.
If you want to go to Murano, speak with the reception of the hotel, a nice surprise waiting for you.

Terrible staffs! Nice location. However, the staff's attitude was just horrible! Very unkind, arrogant. We had asked to keep the luggage, and we came to pick it up the next day. The hotel staff was raising his voice to my husband that we came late, and told us to pay extra 10euros to get the luggage back. So, we came to the counter to pay, and all of a sudden, he changed his words that we don't have to pay. The thing was that he was trying to get some tips from my husband. He should have been polite, and nice to get some tips, not offending the tourist who doesn't speak english very well. We were thinking to tipping a lot, but changed the mind not to tipping at all.

Very long selected hotel 4**** the Choice fell on Principe. A very convenient location. We arrived by train, the hotel is 5 minutes from the station. We liked it. Thanks to the staff.

Attention is horrible and rude staff. Others recommend choosing whether or fewer stars, but have more qualified personnel with a minimum of education.

It has an excellent location, next to the train and bus station. In a good area and overlooking the Grand Canal (at least from the dining room). In short you are in Rialto and San Marco.
Public areas are not wrong to be a four star hotel, but the rooms and the service can be improved much. In general not very comfortable and rooms for sleeping and point.
