I live in New York and had some business to do in Piacenza — I struggled picking out a hotel but found this one online. When it comes to hotels, I am really picky because I work hard and I want a peaceful, comfortable, safe, friendly place where I can go back, relax and lay back peacefully. I found that at the Algergo Roma in Piacenza. If you're driving you will go into the restricted area of the city, but continue in and go to the hotel. Pull to the side and go in. You'll pull your car around to the side and go into their underground parking garage. The only thing I have to say is that this looks like it was once a stall for horses. It is REALLY TIGHT in there. You pull into an empty stall and you'll have to back forward and backwards a few times to get into it. An elevator takes you to the lobby. The lobby is small but very nice. There's a restaurant in the hotel that is full service and their food is absolutely great. I was impressed. House wine was great — tasted my friends (not a big wine person, but this was very good wine). I ordered beer and they brought me a local brewed beer and it was GREAT! As for rooms, I got the Farnese Suite which was a room with a bedroom, a living room, a walk in closet and a large bathroom with a shower/tub — fully up to date and modernized. The A/C was great. The room was very nice. I was with a small group and got to see a regular room that had two beds in it with a bath — same thing: Fully modern. I strongly recommend the Grande Alebergo Roma.
