Everything about this hotel was absolute perfection — we couldn’t have planned a better stay for our elopement! After browsing through many hotels, we found Hotel Poseidon the most welcoming and once we reached out to book we knew it was the right choice. Being a family run hotel with perfect views and amenities, it was exactly the place for us. We stayed in the Funny Suite which is situated on the top floor of the hotel. With this room we had more than enough space and we were able to use the large private terrace to our advantage. We had the space to get ready for our special day together, the AC was amazing as it was a very warm day and we had the ultimate privacy on our terrace. We used this space to not only take our photos but to also give us the privacy to FaceTime with family for our cake cutting overlooking the perfect views of Positano. Location of the hotel is perfect, being right in the heart of the town. The minute we arrived to the hotel, the staff took care of us immediately and went above and beyond our expectations. Unlike most hotels in Positano, they have an entrance bay so it allowed us to pull off the main road with no stress of holding up traffic. Our worry for parking wasn’t needed as they had on-site parking and took care of everything for us.

Great HOTEL, impeccable service, really courteous staff. Spacious rooms with great views of the magical Positano.
The rooms for guests are also very well cared for. Very nice terrace overlooking the village.
The hotel restaurant is also excellent: Il Tridente.

Words can’t properly explain how grateful we are to have chosen Il Tridente restaurant and the Hotel Poseidon for our wedding lunch. This place is not only about thoughtful design, breathtaking views and highly rated Mediterranean food (which was basically our reason to chose it in the first place! ), but mainly about PEOPLE. Our initial correspondence was very smooth and friendly with a very prompt response. We were presented a variable options to choose from in regards to the table settings and food. We had asked whether it would be possible to apply some of our regional traditions to the day, what was responded to with the biggest enthusiasm and genuine curiosity. We had quite a few requests that were outside of the offering and every single one of them got handled with the kindest manner. When it came to the day itself, it absolutely went beyond our biggest expectations. From the moment you walk in, to the very last second of your stay, you’re surrounded by the most genuine and loveliest human beings. The team that had looked after us and our family and friends, made us feel the most special. Food and drink is absolutely divine, and the views are one of most spectacular on the coast. Place has got a beautiful combination of what you look for in Italian hospitality as well as a romantic and very cheerful ambience.

Positano is magnificent, but the view from the Poseidon hotel makes it special!
Excellent staff, magnificent hotel, pool with views, excellent restaurant with views. A refined and quiet place, where you can appreciate the view without reaching other terraces.

Amazing and romantic place.

There is so many thing way you should stay in Poseidon Hotel.

Stayed for our Honeymoon in June 2019. Hotel was perfectly locked, the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Anything we asked or needed the staff was able to make happen. Our suite had amazing views of the city. The rooms was big and clean. Breakfast every morning was delicious. If we ever go back to Positano we will absolutely stay at Hotel Poseidon.

This hotel has the most beautiful views here in Positano. The food is excellent and the staff very attentive. Just to experience Positano from this hotel and location brings our Europe holiday to a grand close.

This is my first time to Positano and I'm here celebrating my wife's 40th birthday so I wanted to stay in a special hotel and I'm pleased to say the Posiden has exceeded all my expectations! The hotel is located on the main road into the town centre so it's perfectly located for the beach  (via road or the steps), numerous restaurants and small shops. The hotel was build in 1955 as a private home and is still owned and managed by the same family! The hotel style is traditional and fits into the surroundings perfectly. In fact, there are no major hotels in Positano, thank g*d! The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast lovley. If you stay her, you will want to take your time enjoying the food and amazing views of the sea. I could go on and on but it's time to go back to the pool. In summary, I can't rate this hotel highly enough. My wife and I have enjoyed a 'perfect' Stay here. Thank you to all the hotel staff and managment.

We had a delightful stay. Great staff that anticipate your needs before you do. Wonderful breakfast buffet. Plenty of space around the pool to relax or have lunch with amazing view of Positano. Nice cool, quite, rooms with private balconies over looking the Mediterranean.
Good location for a leasurly walk to centroid Positano.

Best place in Positano! We had our wedding meal here and it was insane! Liliana was amazing at organising everything for me via email as I live in Scotland and everything couldn't have been more perfect! Our stay was also amazing! We went to le serinuse on another night and it wasn't half as good as the food here! Thanks again for everything! Xxx.

Nice hotel, I have to say for the price of a room I am dissapointed at the size of the room the queen size bed which is ok if you are not tall and the shower in a bath with a material screen, not very hygienic in my opinion. Most of the staff are great, the veiw is beautiful.

I can't say enough good things about the view and staff. Simply amazing. Be prepared to walk up and down several steps to get to the beach and back, but it's worth it for the view. The restaurant is amazing and the service can't be beat. If I had to complain about something, I would say that the bed is a little stiff, but who cares when there are so many other great aspects!

Excellent service, gorgeous view. They have a vegetarian menu but I ended up ordering the ravioli mozarella which was great. Order the lemon cake for dessert… Fantastic, just the right amount of lemon taste.

Nice Hotel and very large room, the view from the dining room is great, but the organization was not the best since you had forgotten to take our reservation and then get us a room. In over the breakfast waitress was rude to us.

The hotel is very nice, the breakfast plentiful and enjoys a great location for its proximity to Naples. There was however a minor drawback because they had forgotten to mark my reservation and I was then given a rush room and deprived of towels.

Great Hotel located in the beautiful Positano. I was here for a Congress and we could admire the fantastic view visible from the pool. I can't tell you about the rooms because I haven't seen them but the place is spectacular and worth it. Only problem but it is so in Positano is the lack of parking space.

Wonderful, for those who want the maximum for a stay in the hotel must try it.

Lovely view, lovely bathroom, lovely people. But for the price I was hoping for an actual king/queen/double sized bed, not just two singles pushed together.

One of the best hotel experiences ever — well located and exceptional service from all the staff. This hotel is family owned and the care factor is very high. From the wonderful staff at reception to the ladies that clean the rooms, in particular Michelina who is always with a smile on her face and manages to service the rooms around your schedule. Every staff member smiles and greets you whenever they see you (this is rare in some hotels) There is a beauty centre with two lovely ladies that provide massages and beauty treatments. Wonderful meals, breakfast patio with superb views, clean generous size rooms, what more can I say… we will be returning to the Poseidon!

Between my husband and I we have been at the Poseidon 8 times and hope to return many more. This family run hotel is like being home. The attention from all staff is excellent, the breakfast has great variety with freshly baked treats everyday to perfectly scrambled eggs. There is free and excellent Wi-Fi with no log on necessary at any time of day. The restaurant has a great menu with traditional dishes and wood fired pizza three times a week which would have to be best in town. The rooms are clean with comfortable beds in a traditional style and era of the old world classics built in Positano. One of the few hotels in Positano with a pool and a view which you never get tired of. Perfectly located on the hill with walking distance from the main piazza and not too close to be noisy. Variety of rooms available for all budgets. Highly recommend this beautiful family run hotel.

Can't say enough good things about our honeymoon stay here. Beautiful hotel, amazing views, and exceptional staff. Will absolutely recommend to others and plan another visit in the future. Only low moment was our mattress in the room, unusually uncomfortable, but the comfort throughout the rest of the hotel made up for it. Make sure you take advantage of the breakfast. And tip: if arriving by boat, hire a porter or call the hotel to transport your bags… the hike is brutal with luggage, but very pleasant without.

Came to this hotel in 1998 for the first time and absolutely loved it. It has one of the best views and if you get a room with a patio there are few others to beat this hotel. It's on the sunrise side of Positano so if you would like sunset side you most probably have to look at the Seranuse hotel. The rooms are basic but clean and well appointed. The staff are wonderful and the food absolutely fantastic. Breakfast is amazing especially with the sunrise on the terrace. The value for money is also the best in Positano. I still recommend this hotel to my friends after all these years and having been back this time it's still as good as always. Very special place.

The terrace of the Hotel dominates on Positano, the staff is like a big family. You can not go to Positano without sleeping one night at the Poseido and stay electrocuted by the moon reflected in the sea, dream.

Hotel Poseidon was amazing. We went there for our honeymoon in August and it took our breath away. Between the service and views this place was top notch. Angelo, Analisa, Alex and the rest of the crew really went above and beyond to make this an unforgettable experience! & the view from our room was just stunning! Recommend this place to everyone. We can't wait to go back.

Hotel in the heart of Amalfi, one of the most beautiful in my opinion. Very nice structure.

The worst hotel I have ever had! Already the first night we ended up without a towel because they had no more! So no towel for the hands or the rest… Then the breakfast was average, and the Wi-Fi either didn't work or idle! And on the last day, water break, we had more water to go to the bathroom, to wash. In short a shame for a 4 star!

Stunning facility in a beautiful place. Staff friendly and helpful. Piece of history with the oldest elevator. Wi-Fi everywhere. Holiday Special.

Simply put as I am suffering from jet lag … DELIGHTFUL. I could go on and on but the short of it — don't pass it up. Persons with walking disabilities should however reconsider as the town to the beach / shops is vertical and even those in good health receive a good workout. Our family of 6 enjoyed our 4 night early August stay. The staff members we crossed paths were everything you would expect from such an elegant hotel. A special shout out to Luca and Biba. They were over the top. The location, a 7 minute walk via the steps to the beach / shops or 15 minutes by walking the road was actually very convenient. If you prefer to eat out outside the hotel do consider "Trattoria La TaGliata" (cab ride) or "Next Too" (turn right out of hotel and walk 7 minutes — next to ambulance garage). If you want to spend the day at Capri, consider chartering the boat named "Lady L". Do ask for Capt. Benji and his mate Maximo. They were very accommodating. Simply awesome. Beautiful superior double rooms/wonderful and helpful staff/immaculately clean/located mid way up in mountain so perfect views and walk to beach with added bonus of being away from noisier crowed areas closer to beach… public relations guy (frank) is very helpful and full of information. Perfect place in a dream setting!

My wife and I stayed at the Poseidon for 3 night and enjoyed every aspect of the stay. The staff and hotel were wonderful, If you needed it they got it for you or were able to point you into the right direction. Great Place.

My wife and I spent my birthday at the Poseidon, and I must say that the staff is very attentive, the view from the balcony is spectacular, the rooms a little Basic for the category, it is very functional to the needs of the average traveler top the pool somewhat small, breakfast in international standards.
Stayed in August 2007, travelled.

My husband and I stayed here 3 nights of our 10 day trip in Italy. THe hotel is beautiful, great location and an amazing staff. Words can't express how helpful the staff was. Everyone from the front desk guy helping us with dinner recommendations to the pool guy serving us drinks and making us laugh. You felt like you were part of the Poseidon family. Even the owners cute dog was there greeting people at the pool! The only downfall to the hotel. And it would be a 5 star if it were not for this. The beds were very hard. The linens were soft but the bed was like sleeping on the floor. I would absolutely stay at this hotel again but I would make sure the bed was better.
