Hostel Brikette Hostel

Great time, bar was great, staff great, facilities clean. Beautiful view from the terrace and mini markets near by. Out of town but very close to a bus stop that takes you to the city center in minutes.

Nice hostel. Clean facilities. Very busy but I was there in peak season. Only downside was it has a bit if a party atmosphere so loud music and people until almost 1 am.

The bunk beds in the room I stayed in have dangerous ladders that aren't actually attached to the beds, which slip on the tiles while guests are trying to climb to the very high top bunk. This means that if you have a top bunk it's bloody scary to get up there; a girls ladder slipped from right under her in my room which was pretty terrifying to watch. Considering the price to stay here the hostel owners should provide safe access to the beds that guests pay to use. There are no lockers in the rooms, only small safes for valuables located in the common area. There are no facilities to make food and no fridge to store food, however the staff are accommodating and provide cultery and bowls, and everything is kept very clean. The silver lining to this place is the staff who are very friendly and do a great job. There is a happy hour and I enjoyed the delicious breakfast (that is not included in the cost). It's very sociable and easy to meet other travellers.

Yes its a hostel and also the cheapest option in a very expensive city. So for that opportunity to stay in a place I couldn't afford I appreciate. I found that the staff was more into partying then running the place. When I had a complaint about my items being vandalised by another guest a male staff member shrugged it off and said there was nothing he could do. I found that repugnant. There should or is clearly a protocol for guests taking other guests items and he was too passive to do have a confrontation.

Amazing hostel with a lovely view from the lounging area. The breakfast is extra but pretty great and quick too. Rooms are well equipped. Lockers are only in the fewer areas and have to get your own pad locks.

The amazing view from the terrace, the delicious breakfast and the friendly staff all make for an unforgettable stay in Positano. Anyone traveling to Italy should put Positano and, more importantly, Hostel Brikette on their list. Can't recommend it highly enough!

One of the best hostels I've stayed at. If you stay, definitely go for the deluxe room with the a balcony overlooking the city/water. Never seen a more picturesque view 5 seconds after waking up. Hot showers. The breakfast was amazing; eggs and pancakes with nutella. Homemade limoncello is delicious, and they have 3 separate happy hours. The people who work there were great with suggesting things to do, and helped us get to the path of the gods without spending $$$ on the tour. Two of the girls, Ellen and Kayla, were great and took us all out for a great night even though we were there a week or two after the main club had shut down. Will definitely stay again next time I'm in the amalfi coast.

My favorite hostel experience EVER! Not only did the hostel have amazing views, amazing food (and a full bar) but the atmosphere was so inviting and the staff was AMAZING! Everyone was so helpful and friendly it felt like a big family, I became very close to the staff (some of the American girls in particular) and I was so sad to leave but now I have some amazing friendships and memories to look back on. Out of all of the hostels I have stayed at over the years Brikette holds a special place in my heart. I cannot wait for my next trip back to Positano, and you can guarantee that I will be staying at Hostel Brikette again!

One of the best hostels I've stayed in! Friendly and knowledgable staff and gorgeous views. It has a very homey feeling. Everyone hangs out in the common area and becomes friends instantly. Great place for solo travelers to meet people. The food is amazing as well. I can't say enough about this lovely hostel.

Wish I never had to leave! If you are coming to stay in Positano, this is the place to book. The owners Cristiana and Peter made me feel at home and the breakfast was so delicious! The hostel was easy to find and located 100M from the bus stop and only a fifteen minute walk down to the beach and city center but it is a ton of stairs down but there is a bus that will take you back up if you don't want to walk up. Another huge plus was the incredible view from the terrace!

I am checking out today but I wanted to write this review before moving on! Very cool place! The hostal is set on top of Positano with a fantastic view from the terrace. The owners Cristiana and Peter make you feel at home — the breakfasts are delicious and decadent! A great find!

A fantastic hostel, the staff are super friendly and helpful with local insights. The hostel has an amazing terrace where all the guests hang out at night time, it's a great opportunity to meet people from all over the world. I highly recommend this hostel!

I stayed at Brikette Hostel for 3 nights and had the time of my life, the staff were very helpful and friendly recommending activities such as the Path of the Gods hike and day trips to Capri. The hostel offers really cheap but high quality breakfasts with a large variety which is made fresh everyday usually around 5-7 euro! Unfortunately during my stay there were 2 super rude girls were in my 10 bed dorm they were complaining about everything and creating a really bad vibe but the management staff dealt with the issue professionally and I throughly enjoyed the rest of my stay. I can't wait to return to this amazing spot in the world and I'll be sure to stay at Hostel Brikette!

Do not stay here unless you want UNAUTHORIZED CREDIT CARD charges by staff -Read reviews on trip advisor Booked 5 nights here. The price on the invoice was: 339, 20 EUR, we had the option to pay 406, 00 EUR by card or the invoice fee of 339, 20 EUR by cash. We obviously choose the cash option but travelers are not notified of the increased fees in advance. Also asked to pay addtional fees for keys to your room. Upon checking in we were asked to choose our bed in a 10 person room (with only 1 ladder for 5 beds and only 1 outlet), so we left our belongings on the chosen bed. Only to return late in the evening to find other guests in our bed. When asked Peter Cowling about the bed arrangement he told me that we said we had preferences for beds and it was his word against ours, said that because I was unsatissfied I must leave the room and he handed me my money. We took the money and left. At 9:00pm during the Italian holiday Ferragosto we obviously could not find accomodations in Positano on such a last min notice and were left to sleep outside. Without notice, 5 days later they had charged my credit card on file 84 EURO and said this was the cancelation fee. Frankly we never canceled our reservation, we were forced to leave. Do yourself a favour and pay a little more to stay elsewhere. I highly recommend la Maliosa d'arienzo, where the owner is amazing, kind, and very hospitable.

When my friend and I arrived to check in we were greeted with a "what are you doing here? " The lady told us we were too early to check-in and asked if we had a problem with it. We of course did not have any issue with the check-in time but with only 2 hours away from check in, we had asked if it was possible to take a shower. The woman turned to the man present asking him "to deal with them". The man said "if this was the Hilton do you think they would let you shower? " and repeatedly asking us "if we wanted to talk about something". Further explaining that they wont let us shower because they want to show other guests the bathroom was cleaned. At this point we thought the Hilton also wouldnt treat its guests in a confrontational unkind manner either and didnt ask any further questions. Upon check-in we were given the option to pay 340 euro by cash as stated in our invoice or 406 euro by credit — not noted anywhere. We kept being asked for deposits for various things such as key deposits, and linens which were not noted in the invoice or the website. Every room I had paid for in the past had the key included in the fees or invoice. After having inquired about these additional expenses that we were unprepared for, we were asked to leave the premise with our cash payment returned to us. It was 8pm during a holiday in Positano where all hotels were booked. We did not stay at this hostel and were stranded. 4 days later my credit card had been charged, an unathorized payment.

Lovely place! PROS — beautiful view — friendly staff, good food recommendations (just ask Peter) — nice breakfast (delicious and simple egg options, coffee, smothies etc) — super clean bathroom/shower space (communal and female only available) — air conditioned rooms (pre-set temperature, cannot control, can only be turned off) — short walk away from the bus stop if you're going down to the beach/town — competitive prices CONS — the bunk bed stairs are thin and not attached to the bed which are difficult to climb and come down. — no hooks in bathroom stalls.

One of the best hostels in Italy. Top rate international breakfast, friendly owners great location near the Sita bus stop. You will not find a better spot at a reasonable price on the Amalfi coast.

This was the first hostel I have ever stayed at. Although, I am a hotel type of traveler; I enjoyed staying here! Peter and his wife who run this hostel were so personable and helpful. They helped point me and my group 7 girls in the right direction for all sight seeing and food destinations. The only down fall of this stay was the air conditioning. IT WAS HOT! But that did not ruin our stay! The view made up for all temperature issues. There is a nice cheap bar and breakfast available to the guest and the hostel is very clean. I was nervous to trust leaving my bags in the room unattended before I arrived but while I stayed it was easy to realize that I had nothing to worry about. They provide lockers for important valuables and great hospitality all around! I will be back! Thank you for EVERYTHING :)
