Wonderful experience — very charming hotel with great restaurants, very friendly staff who gladly “walked the extra mile” to enhance our stay. The room was not very big, however who wants to be in the room, when the veranda and pool area offers an exquisite view of the landscape. Don’t forget to visit Fredrika at the spa.

Donna Clelia Restaurant of the fantastic Hotel Botanico, heavenly location and lunch from God, with the maitre Vincenzo, Francesco, Rosanna and Chef Lina, truly exquisite and nice people.
Really fair prices and relaxing experience on a hot summer Sunday.
More than recommended, I would give more than 5 stars if you could.

Amazing hotel up on the cliff amongst a cliff side cactus and succulent garden that is also full of lemon and apricot trees. Every room has a terrace, ours has a view of the ocean and the cactus gardens and is stunning!
The breakfasts are plentiful w an assortment of fruits meats and pastries w juices mimosas and cappuccinos!
We have been swimming several times a day in the infinit pool and have taken the elevator down to the private Moorea Beach Club across the street.
A perfect place to enjoy the hills and views of beautiful Maiori!

Nice hotel, the facilities is five star, staff is helpful but maybe need more training for the staff to upgrade to five star service. But overall experience is good.

The most beautiful views & friendly staff I have ever come across. This place was literally perfect. We ended up changing our flights just to stay one extra night because we loved it so much!

I spent a wonderful birthday there, pampered by a sober and refined environment, first a nice hot tub in the jacuzzi with panoramic views, an "emotional shower" and then away in the pool, overlooking the Coast to enjoy an aperitif between baths. The road to get there is absolutely pedestrian is a bit rough but full of charm, however there is a small funicular that rises from the coast of Maiori. With a small surcharge you can also have lunch.

The pictures do not do it justice. This hotel was beautiful and perfectly located. I agree with some reviews that check-in could be sped up a bit, but every hotel previously was like this as well, as they needed copies of passports, etc. The only real issue was locating the entrance, the signage wasn't the best but the location, service, views, food, etc. Were all above average! I plan to go back and stay at this hotel.

This is been one of the better experiences I have ever had at a hotel. The staff and the hotel have been amazing! I would recommend this place to anyone! I will def be back to Italy and I will always stay here in the future.

This is the best place I’ve ever stayed! Vincenzo and the entire staff was so wonderful and hospitable to these foreign travelers! The food was second to none, the service was amazing, and the views were so panoramic and the absolute most beautiful thing we have ever witnessed from sun up, to sun down. We took our international tour of Italy to the next level with this place, and we left the Amalfi coast as our grande finale, and I can’t praise Maiori, and Hotel Botanico san Lazzaro enough. The spa treatments, the food, the pool, the hospitality is worth it’s weight in gold! Please come stay here now, and you can thank me later! Best place to be in the entire world! Ciao! Very nice hotel with outstanding staff who cannot do enough for you. The hotel is tastefully decorated and very clean in all areas, the garden is a fantastic example of how to garden with poor dry soils on terrace too, would love to go again.

We stayed at this hotel last week. 18-21 Oct 2017. Although it is the end of the season on the Almafi Coast, and we were one of 2 or 3 couples staying here, we were treated as if the hotel was full. We had so many choices for breakfast it was hard to decide what to eat. The restaurant was open every evening, as was the pool, terraces, and bar. The staff was warm and inviting, and answered all of our questions regarding what to do while visiting the area. Our room was on the 3rd floor, and large enough to be comfortable. The bath and shower were on the smaller side, but how much time do you actually spend in there? The balcony, while not private, overlooked the town, and provided stunning views of the town, and the extraordinarily beautiful sunsets. If we ever get back to the area we will definitely stay here again. Note: This hotel is built on the side of a mountain. You take a lift from the street level lobby, and then walk up about 40 steps to the main lobby. I would not recommend staying here if you are not able up to walk up stairs. Luckily, the porter will carry your luggage to/from your room, and the effort is greatly rewarded.

Fabulous service from all the staff. Even took care of arranging the repair of our flat tire for us. Made a sack lunch and prepared our car for us to leave at 3am. I've stayed in all levels of hotels and motels and Vincenzo and staff provided the best level of service I've ever had and this was my 21st vacation in the last 2 years! Fabulous!

Von Liebe Gäste wir möchten sie warnen bitte weg von der Mini-Bar, wir hatten das Hotel auf der Durchreise für eine Nacht gebucht um am nächsten Tag aufgefrischt weiter zu reisen, vor dem zu Bett gehen hatten wir zusammen ein 33cl Nastro Azzuro Bier aus der Mini Bar genommen, klar auch mit dem Gedanken das es teurer ist. Am nächsten Morgen kam die Ernüchterung bei der Bezahlung haben sie von uns 42 Euro verlangt! Ich glaube Wucher ist noch das harmloseste Wort dafür! Volle Abzocke würde ich das nennen, selbst in dem 5 Sterne Hotel in Taormina am Meer wo wir fürs Zimmer 520 € bezahlten kostet das gleiche Bier nur 8 €. Trotzdem die Leute dort sind sehr nett und die Aussicht wunderschön aber fünf Sterne sind definitiv zu viel. Dear guests we would like to warn them away from the mini-bar, we had booked the hotel on the transit for one night to travel the next day refreshed, before going to bed we had together a 33cl Nastro Azzuro beer from the mini Bar taken, clearly synonymous with the thought it is more expensive. The next morning came the disillusionment in the payment they have asked for from us 42 euros! I believe usury is still the most harmless word for it! Full rip-off I would call that, even in the 5 star hotel in Taormina by the sea where we paid 520 € for the room costs the same beer only 8 €. Nevertheless the people there are very nice and the view wonderful but five stars are definitely too much.

Unfortunately, the Hotel Botanico San Lazzaro did not correspond to the standard of a 5 stars hotel. Only the view and the beautifully landscaped garden have convinced. But that's not enough for 5 stars.
We had two double rooms for single use for 7 days. As in the small rooms 2 people can live is a mystery.
In a bathroom there was no shower cubicle. It was always flooded. No such small storage area was available in the bathrooms. The weathered balcony of a room was tiny and was directly above the open breakfast kitchen with odour nuisance.
In this room the air conditioning was continuous. Temperature was 12 – 13 degrees. Despite complaint immediately after arrival and otherwise several times a day, no remedy has been created. It was also very bad for mold stunk, which caused tearing eyes and nasal congestion. It was then offered to exchange the room for a surcharge of 50 euro per night but was refused.
Only after 5 days did a technician with the lady from the reception look at the room. The air conditioning was defective. Of the stench were both appalled. At last a move to another room, at no extra charge, stood in the way of nothing. But just for 2 days.
The other room had a huge balcony. Price was identical to the other room. There was a tiny shower cubicle. With more than 70 kg weight not to enter. Here the air conditioning did not run at all and it was very warm. Only two days ago, they managed to get them running.

A wonderful and panoramic hotel. I was there for a first communion and had a great meal.

Very nice garden that is well worth a visit. And a welcomedrink is included in the 5€ entry price.

Our experience was mostly awful. We arrived on 30 May. The room looked lovely. Then air conditioning wouldn't work. Then realised its controlled by reception. Post this the toilet was broken and upon flushing flooded the bathroom as it had large crack and was not sealed. They offered to move us to a 'better' room. This took several hours.

Hotel in a fantastic location, reachable by a private funicular, from where you can enjoy a breathtaking view.
Kindness, professionalism, availability combined with an excellent cuisine make this hotel a magical place.

Unique and fabulous pizza great friendly staff!

It's like passing judgment on the Coliseum or on the Mona Lisa or on an important work of art. The hotel botanico is a unique example to the world, a unique and incomparable place. A place where the historic Cimini family's passion for succulents and succulent, found its sublimation and the point of maximum expression. The Hotel Botanico San Lazzaro is a wonderful terrace on costiera di Maiori. Friendly staff and good food are the masters. All surrounded by the many amenities of a 5 star hotel. Fantastic.
