Pleasant, the holiday starts well. Restaurant and service very good, ex salads.

The service people are FANTASTIC. Folks, this is a story about being helpful and caring in a world where this rarely happens, even among people theoretically paid to be that way.
On our last night in Tel Aviv, my wife and I wanted to eat out. First, it was hard to find a kosher restaurant open at 11 pm. Peter, at the desk, was friendly and helpful about making suggestions and us one (Nonno Angelo) open late. He called a taxi for us. We ate a good meal and hailed a taxi back to the hotel.
Back in our room, we realized a cell was missing. I went down to the desk to ask them to call but the restaurant was closed. Ahmed, on duty then, was very sorry he couldn't help right then, but promised to work it the next day. When a heavy heart, we flew home the next morning, cellphone-less.
Generosity of spirit saved the day. Ahmed called the restaurant asking for information until the person in charge there looked carefully and saw the cell wasn’t there.
Unfazed, Ahmed and Peter, and Mor, another staff member, traced the taxi that took us to the restaurant. Peter remembered us well and the taxi ordered. Mor checked the taxi number and Ahmed called the driver who was reluctant to come back. But Ahmed convinced him to do the right thing and reimbursed him out of his own pocket.
All's well that ends well thanks the dedication of Admed, Peter and Mor, three stellar members of the Metropolitan Hotel staff. My wife and I cannot thank you enough.

The breakfast is great not so much the pool area but with the beach just steps away who needs the pool. Room are comfortable and beds comfy. The area has soooo much to do and see just walking.

Very nice hotel close to the beach, delicious breakfast buffet. Friendly welcome with a glass of fresh orange juice. Rooms very clean with new furnishings. Swimming pools are available but have not been used. Doesn't seem quite so new anymore, though. Free fast Internet Wi-Fi.

The Metropolitan Hotel, I was there just for one night. It's location is excellent, one and half block from the beach. Looks safe for a walk at night. We in a group of 10 people went for a walk after 10;00 pm, and everything were calm and safe. You have a mini market in the left side of the hotel where we went to buy water and some other stuff. The room was small, but clean and cozy. The bed were comfortable, matress not bad. And I had a good night sleep. Bathroom was clean and tidy. The dinner was excellent and with a very good selection of hot food, and a great selection also with the cold buffet. And a delicious desserts. Breakfast they have a fresh brewed coffee, with variety of eggs, cold cuts, fruits, cereals, and breads, thumbs up. Very helpful staff, and gentle. I liked and a recommend.

The hotel is a tourist trap, and not a very good one at that. I complained that the shower water was a rust brown and nothing was done. When I went to check out they "undercharged" me at check in (they requires full payment at time of check in) and added more to my bill, but could care less that I was unable to use the shower. I would highly recommend you stay AWAY from this hotel.

The food is just great. The rooms are good. The service is very good. The outside of the building is not so nice. But when you get in its nice.

In short: horribly rude concierge desk; unhelpful, Wi-Fi slow as dial-up, room small decrepit smelly, breakfast not good very greasy, Horrible service, view not too good, but near the promenade. Called for help, instructions, to make an international call from the room. Answered with a reply it's too expensive. When asked again, they said they're too busy, and went on a psychotic rant, then rudely hang up on me. It was near Midnight and no help was given. Wi-Fi is so slow that barely works for email. Forget about voice over IP calling or anything else that demands a little bit of bandwidth speed. Rooms too small and decrepit, old and smelly. Plumbing is lacking. Standing water in the shower when walked into the room. Shower head was broke. Call the front desk to fix and after the 2nd day I fixed it mysel. I don't know why they were given 4star hotel status. Motels have better service and rooms. Star rating is exaggerated buy a long shot. The only positive thing is that it is a short walk to the promenade. I would give a 0 stars if it was possible.

Close to the beach, well located, 10 minutes from the market Carmell on foot, if you speak Spanish there are two very nice waitresses who dominate the language.

Well, Israel is not the cheepest country in general. But in 4* hotel I would expect the proper iron can be delivered to the room any time you need it. However, in Metropolitan there is a "ironing room" only. So if there are others that want to iron, you can find yourself in a queue. The worst part however is that the iron provided resembles the toy and has very little in common with iron you can actually use to iron (and dont destroy) your shirts.

The rooms are not large but quite cozy. Equipped and equipped with the necessary number of Facilities. The hotel has a friendly and attentive staff. On the ground floor there is a restaurant. Offering a wide range of Dishes. They cook delicious. The hotel has a souvenir shop. There are prices for souvenirs above Average. Therefore, I recommend to buy souvenirs in souvenir shops, which are quite a lot nearby.

Really enjoyed the stay here. There's free Wi-Fi, check in and check out was fast, and the staff were very friendly.

We bid on a 4-star hotel on Hotwire and got booked here. In short, the hotel should not be given a 4 star rating it's not up to par, the location is really great and the views are fantastic but the rooms and the hotel are not the 4 star quality. Due to the odd shape of the building, all the rooms are quite cramped, there is not a lot of space. The rooms are also very old despite the hotel saying they did a remodel a couple years ago. There were cracks in the walls, the A/C rattled in our room and the washrooms are old and dirty. Breakfast is included, it's not bad a nice spread but you'll pay an arm and a leg for lunch and dinner which wasn't very good. The staff is very friendly and super helpful. They were nice to have around. And we were 2 blocks from the beach which was wonderful. Beware the beds are European so they are small and hard but we expected that so no complaints there. Overall it's not worth the price and it's not the star rating it should be. Had we paid less and wanted a 3-star hotel, we would've been happier. But we were expecting a 4-star hotel and paid a fortune.

Overall rénovations required. Pool and surrounding installations need major update. Restaurant buffet breakfast and dinner, along with service and staff need big improvement if 4 star hotel is claimed. This is no more than a 3 stars hotel.

Nice place. Family friendly. Last time I stayed people smoked in their room somewhere in hotel. Came in through vent into my baby's. Hotel staff were as helpful as possible, but it continued intermittently throughout stay. Not their fault, but disappointing.

As a tourist to see. But for business not obvious. Hotel very often crowded & staff not really warm see even unsympathetic. Good location.

Can only liken the hotel to a three star — stained ceiling from water leak ; handle came of bathroom door; crack in wall painted over; bathroom tiny.

I stayed in this hotel from 04/10/till 04/16/2016 at the check in they quoted me the rate in Israeli shekel which was 1900 for six night and 40 shekel for daily parking. At the check out they changed the story and said no that was 1900 dollars and 40 shekel parking, from the check in staff to management they are all liers, when I asked to speak to manager they said there is no manager on duty and another minute I saw him in the lobby, rooms are very small and uncomfortable. Bathrooms are dirty, the rooms smell like dead rats and when I called they sprayed it something worst smell. If you care about value and comfort stay away from this hotel, they are all crooks.

One of the best hotels of those in which I lived! Great service, comfortable rooms, even the pillows — and the four on the choice lay! Huge and delicious breakfast and dinner at the buffet system. A bit inconvenient that there are no balconies in many rooms.

Stayed many times throughout the years and I love this hotel. The location is amazing, one block away from the beach and close to great bars and restaurants (Thai house and Furama on the same street). The hotel staff is gracious and helpful, the rooms are clean and breakfast buffet never disappoints. I recommend it!

I have stayed at this hotel on many occasions since 1986, recently I have read some not so good reviews recently, which have not been my experience. I stayed in the hotel last month. When I arrived at the hotel my room was not ready, this was my fault as I usually let them know what time I would arrive. The receptionist was not at all helpful and needs to be trained in customer service and reading the reviews from clients maybe this is what they have found as first impressions stick with you, they should be the most friendly, welcoming, offereing you a drink after your journey, giving you information on the hotel facilities and Tel Aviv. Moving on from that, the hotel offers modern rooms, refurbished, well equipped, clean modern bathrooms, views of the sea or city, very good food at breakfast with a large buffet, dinner is also of a very good quality. The area in front of the reception doubles up as a lounge area, because the hotel offices take up a lot of ground floor space that one would normally expect would be a lounge or bar in a hotel of this size, this causes congestion when large groups arrive. One would expect the offices to be on an upper level and I am surprised that this was not done in their recent refurbishment. They have a good size deck area, with pool at first floor level, gym, sauna. Free Wi Fi througout the hotel. The hotel is constantly being upgraded. Put this all together and this hotel offer a lot for the money.

In case of business trip ignore that hotel. Extremely small rooms, extremely slow Wi-Fi. You can hardly check your email; no-way for conferences and calls.

I spent 6 days in the Metropolitan Hotel. It was a special location for me. The 707 room was Great for me. I loved the Tub, I loved the bed. I suggest you to visit Tel Aviv and to stay in the Metropolitan Hotel. I has been there, since February 24 to March 3, 2013. My Special Days in Israel :-).

The room was small, but perfectly catches the free Wi-Fi. On TV of the Russian channels only 1 and ИлТВ for Russians. Room without balcony. But санузен disappointed, too Soviet and shows that the repair was on top. The toilet badly descended from the shower water running poorly. But we nearby, so not really paying attention. Soundproofing normal in the rooms.
The Breakfast is very good — salads, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, pastries, cereals, muesli, watermelons, figs.
Dinner with no problems. Is located practically hotel at the most beautiful promenade in tel Aviv promenade Gordon (hotels near type Carlton, Sheraton and Изротель). There is an unusual lighting in the evenings, lovely cafes and restaurants overlooking the sea. Prices average dinner costing 250 shekels for two (pieces of very large — especially in the restaurant on the waterfront called London). At dinner expensive — 180 shek with snout.
It is close to the famous Arabian market (awful awful — Черкизон resting). Also the abundance of streets, where you can walk.

Vacationing in tel Aviv, at the METROPOLITAN in January 2007. The hotel was excellent. Although the rooms are small. However, if you live alone, it is quite normal. Rooms are cleaned every day. But if you hang the appropriate sign, bother no one will. Generally the staff was very helpful. Almost everyone speaks Russian. Who needs Internet in rooms and WI-FI, but only on the upper floors. So settle down. Well, or just grab a laptop and take the Elevator on the last floors and there sitting on the floor work. The Breakfast is very good — something like a buffet. The choice is quite reasonable (sausage, cheese, sausages, salads, fruits, yoghurts, desserts, soft drinks. ). But even if you are not fed up, right next to the hotel there is a grocery shop and full of small cafes and restaurants, where inexpensive and tasty to eat (there is, however, as almost everywhere in tel Aviv working at least one English speaking). By the way, location is great. To the sea 3-5 minutes on foot step, a grocery store is a 5-minute walk, to a large market can be reached in 15-20 minutes (they sell and fruits, and meat products, and things, and all kinds of Souvenirs, and cream made on the basis of the Dead sea. The price for the cream on the order below, than in other places. And the quality is good), to Internet cafes within 5 minutes. Currency exchange generally at every step. In General, it was all good.
