Kfar Habad is primarily inhabited by members of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement, a branch of Orthodox Judaism. The city is named after Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, the seventh and last Rebbe of Chabad-Lubavitch, who was commonly referred to as the "Rebbe of Habad." The community was established in the 1940s, and since then, it has grown into a thriving religious center.
