After a short ferry ride we arrive. A beautiful castle resort. Lovely, inviting entry with a fireplace burning and comfy sofas. A stunning dining room featuring wonderful food and an attentive staff. Wine selection perfect. Breakfast in a bright and airy glass and stone room. Fiona our server was a delight and very professional as well. Highly recommend.

Stayed at the lodges for the weekend these are very spacious and well equipped. Wonderful grounds for walks. They also have golfing available for people that play.

Since we discovered this beautiful place we've been 3 times. The lodges are great with 3 big double bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, huge kitchen, sitting room & utility room. Lodge is fully equipped with everything you need for a family stay. Set on its own grounds with nature walks, driving range, golf club, playground, kids club it's the perfect location for a family staycation.

Great staff, great food, cozy rooms and love the fire place in the lobby… so cozy.

Had the pleasure of staying here in July for a family holiday. Two adults 2 kids had a fantastic break here. Firstly the self catering lodges have everything you could need, it truly is home from home experience. The lodges are spacious, & all appliances are best quality. We went exploring around the grounds & there was lots of fun exploring the land. The hotel is gorgeous, like stepping back in time. It's very well kept & screams grandeur. It's a beautiful setting for a wedding if anyone was considering it as a venue. We had food in golf house a few times & it was lovely nice & relaxing. The staff are lovely & friendly & helpful I truly can't fault the place. And kids loved getting the ferry across anytime we left. We hope to return next year for another chilled family holiday. Plenty to do in Waterford to & surrounding counties.

Was playing golf here today, it's an excellent course, also had food at golf restaurant good service, but what stood out was the girl in the golf shop, was how welcoming, friendly and full of cheer which is very rare in this day an age.

A bit overpriced for my taste. Overheated room. On the plus side, there is a full size bath-tub, and the wash room is big. Complimentary coffee machine is also nice. Mind you, the dinner is comprised of 3 courses, and currently costs 65€ per person. Wine is about 9€ per glass. Breakfast is complimentary as well. So, the whole "sleeping in a castle" thing is alluring, but keep in mind that it is pricey.

Fabulous golf course. Open day was fantastic. Good in clubhouse amazing. Will defo be back.

Very peaceful and friendly staff. A very unique place. We had an awesome experience and would totally do it again. You can also see deer running around the island.

Beautiful location for a wedding. Stunning surroundings for a quaint And intimate gathering. The boat across gave added charm to feeling like having the island to yourself. Stayed in the chalets which are lovely but Bring cash and food before getting boat over as there's no shop on island.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The castle is beautiful and the surroundings are lovely. It all made for a very relaxing get away. Didn't get to play golf this trip but will definitely be back soon.

This is an incredible castle hotel on it's own private island. A brilliant ambience and warm cosy feel. Excellent service and warm friendly staff. Don't dare miss out on this hotel.

We had chosen one of their lodges as a weekend retreat and we had a brilliant time. One accesses the hotel, which is made in a separate island, by a 5 mins Ferry ride that frequently goes back and forth 24 hours a day. The castle itself was majestic and a treat to the eyes at night while the walking track golf course and the rest of the facilities is enough to keep up occupied.

Lovely hotel and the lodges where I stayed where fantastic quality and tastefully decorated. Nice walks to be had around the grounds also. Will be back.

We loved the Waterford Castle! Our room was spacious and quite comfortable. The grounds were spectacular! There are a lot of deer roaming the island which just added to the magestic feel. We enjoyed a fabulous five star dinner and a wonderful selection of breakfast items the following day. The castle lobby is very luxurious and inviting. I would definitely recommend this beautiful island paradise!

A beautiful castle on an island in Ireland! The impressive front facade is the first sight to greet visitors as they drive up. Inside the reception hall, there is an enormous fireplace with couches and chairs to lounge upon. The dining room and bar are conveniently located on the first floor, as well. The room we stayed in (The Glin Room) is large and comfortable, with a great view of the grounds. I highly recommend this unique experience to anyone traveling in Ireland!

Stayed in the lodges. Great space and facilities for cooking and hanging out. Golf course is fun. Clubhouse staff were good too!

We really enjoyed our spectacular stay at the Castle/hotel. The staff is a team, everyone is their to please each and every quest. The dinner was amazing. We did not leave the premises. Read a book, play a round of golf, play a game of chess. Just lovely!

Magical place and dream atmosphere!

From check in to check out, the staff was helpful and friendly. They made sure we didn't lift a finger for anything. The service in the bar and the restaurant was beyond compare. The food was excellent. The Wedgewood Suite was amazing and comfortable with a gorgeous view of the grounds and the lake. The wildlife was breathtaking. I could go on and on about how magnificent the castle is, but you really have to see it for yourself!

Waterford Castle set on an island, a unique experience, accessed only by ferry & yet a stones throw from city life. In the past I throughly enjoyed dining & staying here. So this time was a quick visit for afternoon tea — delicious, & plentiful — real luxury with exceptionally, friendly welcoming staff. Highly recommend it!

Another jewel in an impressive line-up of Irish castles. Located on a small island, very private with access only by ferry. Wonderful 18 hole golf course. Excellent food.

This was our second visit to Waterford Castle we went back on the back of her initial visit in September as it was so good. We stayed in the lodges by the golf course. Lodges with excellent and exactly what we were looking for self-catering self-contained houses 3 bedrooms with full facilities. Very clean price was very reasonable as we book so far ahead in advance and off season prices do vary depending on time of year that you look to go so check online and check with staff if you are concerned at all regarding price. Either way we love going there the ferry over to the island is always very exciting and always an attraction for our children.

Probably more of a 4 and a half but lovely hotel with great staff. The room was looking like it needed a makeover though… hence the half deduction. Food was great too…

We stayed in the Lodge back in April and absolutely loved it! It’s clean and spacious and the setting is beautiful. We also saw quite a bit of wildlife here. Unfortunately, the entire castle was booked for a wedding, so we couldn’t stay there. But, after the wedding we asked to see a typical room and they were absolutely charming! The wedding party was from Texas, and nice people that they were, obliged us by taking a few photos of us.

We stayed in one of the lodges and it was amazing! So spacious and and clean. We really enjoyed our stay and the castle and scenery were gorgeous. Highly recommend and the little boat trip accress was an experience. The boats run all night and its very handy to use.

Not enough rooms in main castle to accommodate our large. Party. Internet didn't work and TV channels we're very limited. Grounds we're very nice though but glad we only had one night.

Lovely castle and a great venue for our friends wedding. Rooms are luxurious and well equipped. The island has a great walking track for those wanting a bit of exercise, and a golf course (which we didn't use)

Beautiful environment, very professional management. I like the new track running along the perimeter of the island: a trail 8 km long for a marvelous walk with stunning views and wild fauna.

Just spent two weeks driving all over England, Scotland, Northern Ireland and Ireland, stayed in eight different hotels during my 1500 miles of driving, and this place was by far my favorite place to stay. Gorgeous island, beautiful castle, elaborate rooms, fantastic five course meal, and a lovely bar.

Played a round here. Really like getting the ferry across to the island and the course was in great shape. Highly recommended.

This is a castle on an island that has wild deer a ferry brings you across to it it has a hotel lodges and a golf course premium venue for weddings.

Waterford castle is a 5* hotel. Once you get the ferry across to the island you will start to relax. There is a great golf course and they have developed a 5km walk around the island.

We had dinner in the castle the evening we arrived and it was a lovely 7-course formal dining experience. Then we stayed in the lodge, which was 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, kitchen, dining, and living room. Everything was provided and in too shape. Extremely good experience. One thing I missed when reserving the room was that you must take a ferry to the castle island. It runs every 15 minutes during the day so it's not a problem, but worth knowing in advance.

Was at a wedding here spent the weekend in one of the lodges and from the moment we crossed over in the ferry it was 5 star, the grounds, the staff, the castle it's self where out of this world there is nothing they could do to help, as I'm not good on my feet, after pre wedding drink the night before the bar man David (Dave) went out of his way to take us home to our lodge, getting cover for bar, just one of the simple things the staff do, as for food well what can I say just fab we ate in the castle and the golf club both fab and very tasty indeed.

I've never stayed in hte hotel but the restaurant and afternoon tea are first class. The grounds and walk around the island are lovely and suitable for all ages to enjoy.

Amazing spot — super friendly staff, a wonderful meal, and (unexpectedly) a great barman who makes interesting and unique cocktails.

To reach Waterford Castle you take an auto ferry as it is located on an island in the middle of the Suir River. The drive to the castle is quite lovely with deer grazing along the roadside. The view of the castle as you come through the trees is just what you imagine Irish castles to look like. We were greeted graciously at the desk and our bags were carried to our room. We were impressed with the furnishings and decor. We made our way to the bar for a late afternoon drink and enjoyed chatting with our bartender in a very comfortable setting. We had dinner in the Munster Room and can see why the chef is an award winner. After a delicious breakfast the next morning, we took a walk around the grounds. Very nice and relaxing. We hope to come back soon!

Lovely hotel with the real castle feel. The rooms have charme — from the enameled sinks to the king size beds and the ancient windows. The island is lovely, small and tranquil and both dinner as well as the breakfast were impeccable.

Wonderful. It's been a few years since we were here, but we loved it.

The lodges are amazing. Fantastic to stay, so comfortable and spotlessly clean.
