We're just about to check out after booking for one night on our way further south. Our room was spacious, warm and with a lovely view and a comfortable bed. The shower was superb. The breakfast was outstanding. Delicious. Beautiful ingredients. My husband had a full Irish fry and I tried the plant based option. Oh my, they were delicious and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. We definitely want to come back.

Best Hotel ever the the most thing I hate about it is having to leave it 5 star comfort.

We stayed here for two nights and I was delighted to see the care that the staff went to make sure residents were safe during their stay. Temperatures were checked on the way in before getting our room. The staff were lovely at reception. The rooms were spacious, clean and had air conditioning. We reserved breakfast and dinner. The food was really good and again the staff were so nice and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. It was a great base for exploring Waterford and around the corner is a pedestrian area with Boots, Penny’s, coffee shops etc. Everyone was very respectful and wore masks everywhere around the hotel.

Would highly recommend the Granville hotel for carvery dinner it's absolutely fabulous.

My daughter and I had a lovely stay, friendly staff, Beautiful spotless rooms, bathroom impeccable with high quality essentials, and quality bedding, kettle with tea and biscuits, a pod coffee machine, hair dryer, multi channel tv, The dining room is bright and beautiful, service and staff lovely and the food is local and top quality. Also had a river view room, will definitely look forward to staying here again. Feeling relaxed and refreshed. Thank you.

Super friendly staff, very clean and comfortable. A special mention for the receptionist who checked us in today, she was a lovely lady and a big shout out to Jack the waiter in the bar. Super Personality and very friendly and helpful. Well done, wonderful atmosphere all round.

Stayed here last week for an xmas party and I have to say the food and service was second to none. The staff are the best I have come across in a long while and would definitely recommend a stay here. I will be back.

Granville was grand. Super hospitality. Great food and pub. Room was very nice, great shower, water pressure. Mgr got on our tour bus to thank us when we left, classy.

Beautiful, old hotel, but be aware: there is no air! If it is hot outside, it will be hot inside. The rooms are lovely and the people are nice. Check the closet, you may have a portable fan. Ask for a room facing the river for the best breeze or at least 2nd floor or higher.

It was a charming hotel. We were well taken care of. All the staff were very helpful n made you feel very welcome. We loved our stay there.

Great service, lovely central location in a beautiful heritage building along the quay in Waterford. Definitely a great place to be when the tall ships come in as well. Close to all the usual shops as well.

My wife and I went for a meal here last night. My wife and I both ordered the beef burger. As soon as we tasted it we knew it was gone off. It was also not cooked properly. My wife being pregnant was obviously very concerned and complained after eating a little. The waitress was very polite. She took my wives dinner away and told her to order something else. After a while we spoke with the manager who informed us that the burger was being taken off the menu. My wife asked if anyone had tasted it. He explained that yes someone had and they agreed that it didn't taste right. This was totally unacceptable. We could not recommend this hotel in fact we would encourage people to eat anywhere else. An absolute disgrace.

This is a stunning hotel particularly if you like a more traditional feel. The location is ideal and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. The room was cosy a little old fashioned for me personally but absolutely spotless.

Fantastic Stay in the Hotel for our wedding Anniversary loved every minute of it. The staff were so nice, friendly and accommodating they really couldn't do any more for us. Beautiful hotel fantastic food in one of the best places in the world. As the advert on TV says Carlsberg don't do hotels but if they did it would definitely be you guys. I'm just sorry that there is no option to give 100 stars.

My family and I just recently spent a wonderful week in the Granville. The hotel staff were so nice and went above and beyond to help us with whatever we needed. The rooms we booked were lovely, super clean and bright. The food was absolutely fantastic and the service was top notch. I can totally see why it is so popular with guests. It was such a busy hotel but never felt too crowded or impersonal. I can’t recommend it enough. Thanks to all the Staff in the Granville for such a lovely vacation in their wonderful Hotel.

Lovely place to meet friends and have lunch or dinner. Will always meet someone I know when eating there. Live locally so not stayed there to date. Great for coffee and scone if shopping in town.

I stayed here a Monday night while passing through town and had a nice double-bed room that faced the water/clocktower. While my room wasn't accessible (114) as it had two steps up, other rooms on my side of the hallway would have been more accessible. My friends stayed in a two twin room down the hall (119) and of the two rooms, mine felt more spacious. Both had lovely decor and tables for all, with a great toiletry set. As for reception and check-in, it was very easy. We visited the pub both at peak hours and after hours and didn't have any trouble getting friendly service or food, so it's nice that when other places close, you can still come here. If you want to stay in the heart of town in a classy hotel, pick the Granville.

Quaint old hotel with modern appointments and early 1900's late 1800's architecture… and plumbing. Only stayed one day but really enjoyed it. The food is excellent, the service is great, the staff is charming and very attentive.

One of the more reliable places for food in Waterford. They are good to help out with dietary requirements also, and with SW needs it's easy stay on plan there.

What a wonderful hotel! We stayed here for two nights during the February blizzard of 2018. It is a stunningly beautiful 300+ year old hotel — our room was large and cozy. Aside from all the amenities, what sets this hotel above the others is their wonderful staff. Staff members spent nights at the hotel during the snowstorm to serve the guests. They were always cheerful, professional and accommodating — we, as guests are immensely appreciative of their time away from home and families to serve us. We cannot recommend this hotel more highly. Kudos to the Granville owners and staff — job well done!

Fabulous hotel with impeccable service. Truly remarkable. Amazing atmosphere, quality rooms, great bar (especially the gin collection) and the restaurant is top class. The staff are outstanding. Couldn't recommend it higher.

I really, really want to recommend the Granville. I really do. But although the rooms are lovely (albeit sometimes small), the cleaning staff ignored the "do not disturb" on my door four days out of six. I value my privacy, and it is clearly not valued at the Granville. Also, the internet is an open network, so it runs very slowly at times. That said, the breakfast is good. Very good. The pub is great, and the front desk staff have always been hospitable.

Would highly reccomend a visit here the staff are so friendly and welcoming the rooms are fab and realy warm and on my arrival I was greeted with cupcakes saying happy birthday which is a lovely gesture it is spotless and the food is very satisfying aswel so I would rate it a 5 star I will return again!

Very Disappointed, visited the Bianconi restaurant last week, the food was average, my brother ordered a sirloin steak (medium) came out rare, so we sent it back, it returned medium but burnt on the outside. However the service was the most disappointing, the Irish are renowned for their friendliness and welcoming, but not a smile, not a warm welcome from all 4 waiters that served us, it was like they didn't want to be there. I've travelled all over the world, been to some great restaurants, this is in my top 3 for the worse service, would NOT return. Expected so much more from a 4* hotel/restaurant.

A very well maintained period building right in the middle of Waterford which still captures some old world charm. Comfy beds, friendly and helpful staff and a good breakfast, what more do you need? The only downside was I could hear my neighbours quite well.

This hotel is outstanding. Atmosphere from the time we got there was amazing. Our room was 5 star and the food was superb. I've genuinely never had nicer… the way the staff served it was top class… the staff were so friendly and nice. From the guys working in reception to bar staff and waiter's / waitresses ye couldn't have better. Well done and continued success.

Very elegant old style hotel, clean comfortable excellent service, very nice dinner, Irish Stew was delightful! Breakfast was very good as well, we stayed here with our tour group, recommend them highly.

Great service and staff very helpful. Lovely rooms and cannot fault breakfast so much choice. Also had food in evening from bar which again was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and will definitely be going back.

This place was great. The only things I would say to improve is the music they have come in and the wait staff were a little rude but only a few of them. Overall this was a great place.

Charming, beautifully decorated hotel with a variety of rooms. Some rooms fairly large with a double bed and twin bed. Bathrooms nice sized and shower lovely although difficult to climb into. The dinner in the restaurant was amazing and service outstanding! The location, on the waterfront, was very picturesque. We enjoyed the live music in the pub downstairs and seems popular with locals. The customer service was impeccable! Only complaint is that there is no air conditioning in rooms and they have small oscillating fans in the rooms. We opened windows but with no screens… it was really too hot in the room to get a decent sleep (early August).

Lovely place, food is quite good. They do a fabulous breakfast. They lose 1 star because the only accept card payment on purchases over €10 I went in for a coffee and ended up having to geta mineral and cake also just so they would take my card.

Staff is very friendly and the hotel is in a great location. Wifi coverage in the hotel is spotty (our room had none) and the rooms could use proper air conditioning. Breakfast in the morning was good and we would recommend this hotel to a friend.

Really lovely, charming hotel. Older facility, but very well-maintained. Centrally located, easy walking distance to all the Waterford sites. I wasn’t a big fan of the breakfast fare, but pretty sure it was a cultural thing as much as anything (they serve this porridge stuff, like a gluey oatmeal, which is so nasty they offer it drenched in Bailey’s. Most things taste better drenched in Bailey’s, right? ) I had Eggs Benedict, which was fine.

Here you eat a very good roast.

We travel to Waterford every Christmas for shopping and this is the first year we stayed at the Granville. Great food, drink, staff and location. The only place to go if you are staying in city.

We had 2 lovely nights at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Our room was big and had a lovely view of the river. There was generally a warm friendly atmosphere about the hotel, I really enjoyed my stay.

For the last four years we traveled to Waterford and stayed in different hotels. This was our first year staying in the Granville and we will definitely be staying here next year any many more years to come. The service was fantastic. The staff extremely friendly. The rooms very clean and the food delicious. Everything was very reasonably priced too. Our nine month old baby was with us and after the first night the staff were calling him by his name and holding him for cuddles. We were always placed at tables with the most space and room for him to move about a little. As a parent in a restaurant it can be stressful ensuring the baby is not disrupting others while they eat. Here the staff went out of their way to help entertain him too by a simple smile or a roll of his ball. If you're looking for a hotel in Waterford it is by far the best.

This overnight stay was a part of a 10 day tour this summer. I cannot express adequately what a wonderful stay it was. The hotel was charming, well appointed and I absolutely loved the bay window with seating area. The staff was professional, personable and eager to assist. I would have loved to stay the entire 10 days there. The town was as charming as the hotel.

This is a fantastic hotel in the heart of Waterford, excellent value for the rooms and the service overall. Especially the staff make this hotel a fantastic oppertunity for a little city break. Food is above average and the breakfast also is good. Absolutely to recommend, compliments again to the superb friendly staff.
