Had the best night in along time here, I was on a Mystery Tour with a group of work, we arrived late for dinner but the Strand Inn staff were accommodating and helpful friendly, and the food was to die for, I'm not usually a burger and chips fan, but when I saw the presentation that was laid out in front of me I didn't know whether to eat it or take a picture, I did both and its fitting a five-star rating in my opinion, and there was entitlement on the night which was just what we needed to work that 5 star meal off use, we danced the night away into the wee hours, it was a sad moment when we had to leave, but all good things have to come to a end, I just want to thank you all for the excellent service and hospitality, and I'll be back ❤

Great location on a sunny summer day, the seafood is excellent, pints are fine, and service is good considering the amount of people. Half lobster or dressed crab highly recommended.

Great location but the food would need improving. Overall, I sensed that staff morale was in need of uplifting. Which naturally would suggest positively to clients.

Only place to be in Dunmore East for a pint with a view. Great food. Great sunshine. Great big swimming pool out front. Happy days.

A wonderful location with the most stunning sea views made even better with the glorious sunshine and hot weather. Fabulous food too, had the monkfish, very tasty! Worth a visit, you wont be disappointed!

We had heard the fish and chips was amazing at The Strand Inn so my party wanted to eat just that. Being gluten sensitive I couldn't have that particular dish and went with a version of a cesar salad. Asked for no croutons and thought to add potatoes instead when our server offered glutenfree toast, which they did have. It hadn't occurred to me to ask so I was happy she suggested it. The salad as well as the toast was very good! No complaints from the rest in my party either. Oh, but there was no glutenfree beer.

Stayed here for two nights, so nice, staff excelled. Breakfast perfect. Views to die for.

Huge hotel with amazing outside area right in the water front. They serve some incredible food and also cater for families. Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff who go out of their way for you.

Lovely views and when the tide is out a gorgeous sandy beach. Stopped for a pot of tea and cake very tasty but the also have rooms you can stay in.

Just back from an incredible wedding at The Strand Inn. Location exceptional. From a stormy morning with waves crashing against the windows to an afternoon of beach photos against a sunny backdrop — this location was the ultimate venue to experience a beautiful wedding on the best type of typical irish day. All the staff offered a super friendly, part-of-the-family style welcome and care, (especially Clifton and Rachael). The food was top notch. The bedrooms are beautiful, each one different. A truly special place. Thank you.

Great place but the old guy thay have working on till is so misrable and rood serously fella would wanna laurn to be kind to costumers.

Hmmmmmm some good but equally some not so good to say about here. Prime location and the food — IF you can get served can be quite delicious. But that is the main crux of the matter — more than once gone there to only depart after being ignored by waiting staff and not even managing to get an order taken… in spite of the fact that there often enough seems to be sufficient staff to cover.

Super bar with a well presented board of local fish and traditional meat dishes at quite reasonable prices. Clean and well staffed. Acoustics could be improved in main restaurant…

Really exceptional service and a great energy in the restaurant and bar. Amazing views, sea air, great chowder. The front of house is very helpful and I can't recommend it more. Feels like a five star hotel.

The Strand is in a beautiful location and food was very good. However, as Francis Brennan suggested, they could pay attention to their bedrooms. Bed was comfy, but although there were teabags etc. There were no teaspoons or kettle! We had to request one. Also the sink tap was wonky and when we used it we had to pull it over to stop water running onto floor. Correcting this and ensuring that everything necessary for bedrooms is in place would make a good experience much better.

Absolutely fab lunch here. Best fried calamari we ever had. Seafood pie and breaded hake were yummy. Will definitely be back and highly recommend to others.

One month ago today, we had the most spectacular wedding day at the Strand Inn. From the first time we sat down with Clifden to discuss our vision for the day he instilled us with confidence. His input and guidance to help realise a day that reflected our personalities and great affection for Dunmore East was second to none. We'd like to thank all the staff for the fantastic service and friendliness with particular mention to Catherine, the Accommodation Manager, who gave her all to ensuring the comfort and satisfaction of our guests. No task was too much! The sun shone brightly on the day and showcased the Strand Inn for the beautiful coastal gem that it is, a discovery for many of our guests that will secure a return visit. The restaurant was decorated beautifully, meticulous attention to detail and a simplicity of styling a room that boats an exquisite view of the bay. The a la carte menu was a talking point amongst our guests with so many people commenting on the choices, the food surpassed all our expectations. As the sun went down and plentiful wine accompanied delicious food the crowd was buzzing. We continued the celebrations and danced the night away on the terrace, under the stars to the rhythmic beats of Suzie Q. A collection of beautiful moments that encapsulated a weekend we will never forget! Thank you so much.

Restaurant is a lovely setting for breakfast and dinner. Food was nice. However, the room is not up to standard for the price. Cheap laminate flooring and just a poor finish. Needs work. Also quite noisy from neighbours. Can hear the TV / chat from next room.

— Went down here for the bluegrass festival. It was brilliant. Great weather. The strand hotel had great food and the staff very friendly. In the height of it all I asked for a cocktail and got it no bother. I will be down again lovely spot.

We went here for lunch. Great menu. Everything on the menu was locally sourced and freshly cooked. The fish was amazing. I would definitely go here again. The surrounding village of Dunmore was absolutely stunning and beautifully kept.

It's very nice. The live music is very good. Waiters, Majos. The terrace is also very cozy.

Great location, buzzing atmospheric. Stopped off for a couple of light refreshments with the family recently. It was midweek afternoon in july. Very nice place. Will return.

Myself and two friends went here for lunch while travelling. Beautiful location, great food but the service was lacking quality. Didn't feel very welcome. The waitresses seemed a bit unmotivated. Otherwise I would recommend a visit.

I stayed at the Strand Inn on a Saturday night with my girlfriends (all in our mid-30s). On first inspection, the hotel seemed very nice but when we settled in, we began noticing things that weren't quite right like mis-matched furniture, cheap laminate floors, tired carpets, broken lock on bathroom door etc etc. To be fair though, overall, it's quite aesthetically pleasant to look at but I expect more when a hotel bills itself as being 'boutique'! We were delighted as there was a balcony off our room overlooking the sea and the wait staff kindly chilled our bottles of prosecco. We had also booked in for dinner that evening. I am coeliac and I ordered pate with coeliac bread. When my dish arrived, I questioned whether the bread was coeliac or not and I was advised that it was not by the waiter and he said he would change it immediately. My pate came back out (supposedly with coeliac bread) and I tucked in happily until the waiter came along and told me not to eat the dish as there was a mistake and the bread was in fact non-coeliac. I advised the waiter that I had eaten the bread already and that I would be sick and he just didn't seem to get it. In fairness, he was only a young lad and probably didn't have a clue about the implications for me if I ate gluten. I decided to have the salmon instead which was a nice enough dish. Anyway, the manager came over to apologise and I accepted his apology. Then I had bouillabaisse for my main which was a poor attempt.

Stayed at the Strand Inn very disappointed, we stayed in what I can only describe as a box room the bathroom was probably the smallest that I have ever seen in any establishment I stayed in, the floor was slanted which meant the bed was slanted the window opened about 4 inches which meant that there was no air in the room it was like a sweat box, the foyer was a mess there were spider cocoons along the edges of the ceiling the paint was peeling off the walls we got a very bad first impression, the bar was in no way inviting so we frequented the Spinnaker bar just around the corner, will not be going back.
