We stayed at Powerscourt in August 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic but the whole experience was fantastic and very relaxed! The hotel took loads of safety measures to keep guests safe, right throughout the hotel. The welcome arrival with bubbly and fruits was a fantastic touch but the overall star of the show was dinner in the restaurant! The chocolate bombe was We can’t wait to return!

We had the most amazing stay here on 22nd feb, Everything was so luxurious, we came with our six year old daughter who absolutely loved it also. It was a very relaxing stay. We can’t wait to return when the restrictions are lifted.

I just returned from my first trip to Ireland where I stayed at Powerscourt for 2 nights. Of the six total hotels
we stayed in, Powerscourt was my favorite.
All the staff were extremely polite. I would like to give a big shoutout to concierge LIZETTE and front desk clerk KATY. Both women were extremely helpful and kind.
The room was so luxurious and all the property was immaculately groomed.
By far our favorite activity was the full Irish breakfast.
We are not golfers, so I can’t speak to that, but if you love hiking the Wicklow Mountains are quite simply amazing.

Fabulous, spent a wonderful few days with my sister Niamh, thank you Niamh, it was just gorgeous. All the staff were so helpful and friendly, made our time there more special. The Powerscourt Hotel is the bee’s knees.

One of my favorite weekend escapes in Ireland. Not far from Dublin, yet a world away. Also it is so nice to be able to walk over to the lovely Powerscourt Gardens. I love May when the Rhodos are blooming. Try to to get a top floor room with a Mountain View, and a suite is even better. A good point to take a tour of Wicklow from here too.

Update to this review. Down to 1 star as no feedback from hotel after leaving feedback with hotel manager before we departed. The lady who took the details appeared super concerned and upset with our experience that she promised that we would receive a response from the manager, one month later and no reply. Poor service all round 5 star resort 2 star service. Staff are friendly but most are very inexperienced. Restaurant was very poor for a 5 star resort very expensive the food was OK but was was the sort of food you can get in most pubs. Rooms and spa were very nice Overall not worth the money.

The facilities, rooms and grounds are beautiful, and set in a picturesque area just outside of Dublin. This morning I ate local honeycomb and grapefruit for breakfast on a terrace overlooking the gardens. That’s a good representation of the experience here.

5 star rating for a 5 star hotel. Beautiful everything and the setting is gorgeous. Find the staff nice and helpful but not overbearing like I sometimes find in these sorts of places. The breakfast was phenomenal and the bed was probably then most comfortable I've ever slept in. Will return.

This was our first stop after getting off the flight to Dublin and boy were we spoiled. The hotel is just as gorgeous as the photos. The service is top notch and the rooms are very spacious. I'd recommend spending more than one night at the property to take advantage of all it has to offer, but our group did manage to get in a round of coffee, enjoy some cocktails in the lobby, eat in the pub and have breakfast in the formal dining room. My one complaint is that the AC in the room does not go below 19-Celsius, and doesn't even turn on the fan at that temperature. We ended up sleeping with the windows open and the room temp was fine… Also, I want to move into the bathroom!

I had the absolute pleasure of staying at this AMAZING hotel recently, it did not disappoint, The Team are an amazing bunch. From booking with Amy to check in with Laura it was all a very smooth process.
We were surprised when we got our room as we had been upgraded complimentary, (we were celebrating a milestone birthday) It was a lovely touch and much appreciated!
The food was sublime (try their signature dessert) again the dining room Team were so friendly and helpful, and again for breakfast the following morning, McGills bar had a lovely Irish pub atmosphere which made you feel like you had strolled down to the local for a few! … The only complaint I had was having to leave…

This place makes you feel like royalty! The homemade chocolates and macaroons upon arrival was a pleasant surprise! We had the salmon platter appetizer and returned the following week to eat it again! The waiters/waitresses were extremely nice to accommodate late night requests. We ate several different dishes in the pub and everyone loved their food choices. The Irish breakfast every morning is more than enough to keep you satisfied. The grounds were clean and it was so peaceful walking in the evenings. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful, it sits right in the middle of lush greenery. The rooms are super roomy and the balcony’s are big! We enjoyed our family time together exploring the gardens and waterfall. We would stay here again, it absolutely beats the rush of Dublin and it’s a quick easy drive from the city. So relaxing, we really miss it.

Beautiful location and a fine hotel. Food in restaurant nothing special, almost exact same menu offered in Dunboyne Castle the previous week. Rooms very nice but dressing gowns left a lot to be desired. Felt like they had been washed a few to many times and were hard enough to sand a wood floor.

Powerscourt hotel is indeed seemingly fancy but actually has lots of areas for improvement, especially in terms of food and services. First of all, my company booked for me without giving my Marriott account. Thus, I checked with at least 3 people from the hotel to link my Marriott account with my reservation, at check-in and at check-out. Everyone assured me that I would gain points for incidentals, but nobody was able to link the account. Second, because my stay was quite long (10 days), I noticed some housekeeping practice that I did not like. For instance, housekeepers always put the breakfast order form on bed each night, and I had to remove it from my bed. The housekeepers should have noticed this and stopped putting the form on my bed… Anyway, I verbally told my custodian once and she did not put the form on my bed that night, but I saw the form on my bed again the next day… Thus, I put a note on the form saying stop doing so in the future.

Beyond words. Superior service. Gentle, kind and caring staff everywhere you turn. The grounds and gardens must be award-winning. So very grateful to be their guest.

Beautiful hotel with lovely staff. It's located right beside the Powerscourt Gardens, which are stunning. The Sugar Loaf lounge has great views of the grounds of the hotel and the Sugar Loaf, of course. Pool, gym and Spa facilities were great too. A nice place to escape to that's just outside the city.

If you want to experience pure comfort, relaxation and elegance then you need to book a stay here. We stayed in a mountain view suite and I can't recommend it enough. The Hotel is everything we hoped but the room was beyond all expectations. From the moment you approach the front door to the time you check out and sadly wave goodbye, this Hotel and its staff make the whole experience one to remember. One little tip I will give is please please please book a mountain view room and if possible a suite with a balcony if you can. You will not regret it. Thank you for making our stay so special.

Been here a couple of times for various events (never stayed). The food was decent but I expected better from the quality of hotel that it is. Food is fairly priced. The estate is absolutely fantastic especially if you get the weather for it.

I work for an amazing company and some of our training is held here and we have to stay over and my God it does not disappoint it is fantastic rooms food and of course the breakfast is the meal you remember most any it is fantastic but the staff are the stars the make you feel special and genuinely so. Only downfall is bad parents and precocious children and teenagers when having dinner in a restaurant tell the little darlings to behave my God what I and the staff had to put up with. Staff handled them very well.

Espa Spa is lovely. Access to the spa is complimentary with their spa treatments and I spent a very enjoyable time there, just relaxing and being pampered. Of course it goes without saying that the views are also just amazing. There was still snow when we visited and it really added to the magic.

Stunning five star hotel in the most incredible setting and location. Expensive but worth every penny. We met the head of sales there. A lovely woman. Couldn't do enough to make sure we had everything perfect.

We stayed in Powerscourt on Saturday (February 3rd) for one night with breakfast included. The location and rooms were beautiful and what you would expect for a 5 star hotel. However the service did not met our expectations and resembled that which you would expect from a 2/3 star hotel. We decided to eat in the bar on Saturday night which was busy. We had to wait for table which was absolutely perfect with us and we ordered our food as we waited. When we got a table we quickly told the waitress that had taken our dinner order. The table was never cleared and our food arrived to a table full of the tableware from the previous customers. We ate our dinner (the food was lovely) however we were again left waiting for a dessert menu and eventually we had to request it. We ordered dessert and again the table was very slow about being cleared. We went to the bar to pay the bill and to order drinks during the night and the service was extremely slow for both. The next morning we went for breakfast at 10.00 to the room down stairs. There was a queue and the gentleman at the door advised us that we could get breakfast in the reception area and that it was exactly the same as the buffet breakfast served downstairs. We agreed and went with this option, we then heard the same man tell another customer that the breakfast was different in both areas. We ordered tea which was cold when it arrived, we got our breakfast which was also cold and I mean cold not tepid.

It is one of the best hotels I was ever at. It is a real treat very enjoyable. Food was lovely there was a choice of 3 places you could eat. The staff was so nice from start to finish. Nice walks, lovely pool a really relaxing place to go. Highly recommend it.

Had a wedding here on New Years. This place is surreal. Beautiful entrance. Beautiful lobby. Great staff. Tricky elevators. Ya dont know what level you're on but you'll manage. Had food twice here. The pub grub was good but the food at the wedding was a little boring when it came to taste.

Second stay here and god it’s gone down hill in the last 3 years. Shocking service from the moment we walked in. Staying there with a group of 7. Big confusion over the rooms. Delayed check in and eventually when got room there was already 3 70 year old women in the room! Little embarrassing! Back down to reception no apology. Gave us another room got there to find empty bottle of wine and glasses on the table… was the room cleaned at all? Back down to complain very little of an apology… then they set up a bottle of wine … ok… then from them on service was poor. Not enough staff on and those there not trained well. Bar food ok but again service poor. Waiting for drinks about half an hour and constantly having to ask waiting staff numerous times for everything. Breakfast the next morning huge que. About 30 mins waiting to be seated and then when we were service shocking asking for things for 4/5 times before we received them. Coffee stone cold. By the time we got our breakfast we had been down 50 mins. Then to add insult they cleared away all pastries etc before we got a chance to have any and when we ask we were told NO! Was very rude. Pool was nice loungers shabby and a bit unkept and some facilities not working. Did complain to manager he took a little of the bill. Then said he would get us is in thermal suite… after hanging around about 20 mins in spa we were told it was reserved for spa guest and we could go up we just left and went home.

Stayed in a suite, the room was lovely, clean, balcony facing sugar loaf. Beds are amazing, baths are good and suite came with convenient kitchen. Housekeeping services was really good. I din see any negative in our room.

Great modern hotel with every facility. Situated in Wicklow, the garden of Ireland. Surrounded by beautiful walks and cycle tracks. Spectacular scenery, fresh air and rivers, waterfalls. Excellent rooms & staff. Surrounded by private roads, safe for children to cycle. Christmas market and stables on site, and of course SANTA. Outdoor Log burning and charcoal sausage burgers, hmmm. Can't say enough about this place. 5 Stars.

Beautiful location, but not a five star experience. Pros: Tasty dinner, big room, staff generally pleasant, good internet. Cons: Attention to detail lacking. Breakfast slow, we had to queue. Tea came late, hardly any bread in buffet. At check-in we asked to change dinner time by half an hour. Told we couldn't, but when eating dinner we saw plenty of empty tables all evening. Few other little things wrong. All in all a fine hotel stay, but not the excellent experience we expected.

Didn't stay here but had to come to the site for a different reason. The hotel is beautiful and has lovely Christmas decorations too. Lovely grounds.

Hotel was absolutely incredible. The restaurant and pub were superb. The spa is one of the top reasons I would come back. Rooms are gorgeous, as to be expected, and the views and the grounds of the hotel are breathtaking!

Luxury! Wow, what a welcome to Ireland! We arrived earlier than expected and the desk staff did their best to get us into a room quickly as my husband was not feeling well. That afforded us an upgrade and we couldn't have been happier. Beautifully appointed, huge bed and a balcony extending the length with breath-taking vistas of the Irish countryside. Walking the grounds and down to the estate was also a great and relaxing way to spend our first day on the green isle. Highly recommend!

I love coming here for weekend getaways. The spa is very nice — luxurious, clean, and a nice relaxation area after treatments. The rooms are spacious and if you have a mountain view the view is breathtaking!

I was here with a wedding Band and have worked at thousands of weddings. This one will stand out as the staff and management were excellent. The wedding was complex with strick timings between ourselves the venue and three other groups. The staff and management worked with us and the other groups to ensure everything was perfect for the happy couple.

My wife and I and our two little girls stayed at the Powerscourt for one night recently and to our horror there was a used condom right beside the bed where my daughter was playing on the floor. Beside it being a total health hazard the staff added insult to injury my insisting that their housekeeping staff would have never missed such a thing. They implied that WE were responsible. There was no apology and nothing done to try to make up for such a disgusting and potentially dangerous mishap on their end. I would never expect this from a hotel of their caliber. It was a terrible way to end a beautiful trip to Ireland. I would never stay there again nor recommend this hotel based on the arrogant and completely unprofessional way they handled this matter. There are other beautiful leading hotels in Ireland that I would recommend over this hotel where the guests are treated far better.

This was a beautiful hotel. The rooms were very spacious and nice. The service was great. The grounds were beautiful to explore — Ireland's tallest waterfall, the Powerscourt gardens, the hotel itself! Free parking was great as well.

Beautiful Hotel with large rooms, set in gorgeous grounds with beautiful walks, golf course, garden centre, shops and cafes. Spa is really nice and spacious with a great pool. Suitable couples, business or a family break. Restaurant is nice but quite pricey, maybe a little overpriced.

Spent the weekend there at the end of Jan 2016. We couldn't have ask for a better weekend. If you like your hotel breaks to be luxurious and ultimately relaxing then you couldn't ask for a better venue. The luxurious architecture and plush interior are accentuated by the incredible staff. During your stay you must eat at the Sika restaurant, get a massage in the Espa and not forgeting soaking in the atmosphere in the sugarloaf lounge. It is certainly not cheap but I assure you that very few other hotels in Ireland offer this experience.

We stayed when it was a Ritz property and it was a great property to stay at. The indoor pool and spa were wonderful. The room was warm and nicely appointed with comfort for the guest at the forefront. I am curious to go back after the change in ownership, but my wife and I would definitely go back.

We just returned from a one week stay at the Powerscourt Hotel. It is truly amazing. The rooms are stunning, the service is fantastic, the landscape and area beautiful, I could go on and on. I would love to go back any day, any time.

Stayed here for two nights at the tail end of a two week trip (10/12 and 10/13). So so glad we did. This is far and above the nicest hotel I've ever had the pleasure of staying in. The room with the mountain view is definitely worth it. The little touches were so sweet and made us feel so welcome. The staff were some of the nicest people we met in Ireland. The food was *outstanding. * That Shepard's pie at McGill's was so good I wanted to go back and get another. I can't say enough good things about this hotel. It's nestled in a wonderful mountainside setting away from the hustle and bustle of Dublin and is a perfect place to relax and recuperate. The gardens nearby are an excellent way to spend an afternoon before you adjourn to the softest most heavenly bed you'll ever sleep on. Absolutely loved this place.

The Powerscourt is now on my list of my favorite places I have stayed. Upon our arrival, the staff was immediately accommodating and friendly. They really made sure you had an over-the-top experience. The hotel itself is quaint, lovely and cozy. The grounds and gardens adjacent to the hotel are spectacular and very picture-esqe. The rooms are timelessly decorated and have fantastic, large bathrooms. The spa and pool are incredible and luxurious. This hotel would be perfect for a romantic getaway or anniversary weekend.

We stayed at the Powerscourt Hotel May/June 2014, and we actually wished we had spend both weeks in the area and skipped England. The hotel is easily 5 stars, the rooms are elegant and well appointed, featherbeds, feather duvets, etc. I slept better than at home. The rooms include hair dryers, power converters, big oversized towels, sewing kits, shoe shine, irons, toiletries, internet, flat screen televisions, beautiful bathrooms etc. (Roll away beds are not the typical folded lump, they are true beds, appointed in the same manner as our main king bed, just on wheels. ) It is simply my favorite Marriott hotel to date. The rooms also have a mini-bar, a bit pricey, but the town of Enniscary is just a few minutes by car and a quick walk. The town has wonderful restaurants and pubs, with music on the weekends. A Spar market is also in town with a great selection of wine, beer, soda and snacks. The rooms come with a breakfast buffet that is hard to describe, they have an amazing selection of breads (the brown bread became my weakness), fruits, jams, meats, cheeses, crepes and other breakfast items, the tables fill one of the banquet rooms. Hint: Be kind to the staff, may Americans came across as very demanding, the pace is slower and kindness is rewarded with wonderful conversation and even more wonderful service. The staff is absolutely fabulous, the rooms were always immaculate, and turn down service was efficient adding water and chocolate to the bedside tables.
