Beautiful and very poetic view of the place. Forgot to take pictures of the actual building but I think there are already plenty. Facilities are cleaned everyday. Kitchen is fully equipped for self catering. Vending machines has a good selection. Yes there is Wi-Fi. Roads are really narrow but I did witness a bus turning on tight corners like pro.

Top hostel. Lovely self facility cooking area, beautiful views if the Wicklow mountains nice staff and quality facilities. At the a little more than €20 a night this is a perfect budget living…

This place is fantastic! In the middle of absolutely nowhere and that's why it's so good! Beautiful, relaxed spot, friendly and happy.

Irish Breakfast war sehr lecker und vor allem viel. Würstchen, Blutrünstigen, gebratener Speck, Bohnen, Orangensaft, Apfelsaft, Cafe und Tee sowie Müsli, Rührer und noch viel mehr was will man sonst. Die Zimmer waren sauber, allerdings war das Badezimmer nicht mehr zeitgemäß, kaputte Bodenfliesen, sodass bei der Dusche das Wasser unter diese fließt. Ein Wasserschaden ist so in Zukunft vorprogrammiert, hier sollte der Eigentümer mit einer Glaswand/Duschwand Abhilfe schaffen, die Herberge ist sehr abgelegen aber ruhig und man hat einen sehr tollen Ausblick in die Landschaft. Ruhe und Erholung sind möglich. Es gibt Getränke und Snackautomaten, die mit Mastercard bezahlt werden können. Freies Wlan runden das Angebot ab.

Pretty cool went with some friends for some hiking absolutely beautiful scenery. Would recommend for school trips but not for families. I had a great time and would go again if I could.

Repeated food theft and the worst welcome lived in Ireland.

Very friendly and clean Hostel. Nice Location and beautiful view from our room. We were very happy about the little shop which offers noodles and stuff like that. We walked the Wicklow Way and were hungry. Perfect. Lunch package for the next day was nice, too. It is close to the Wicklow Way and easy to find.

I was there for one night, it had a lovely view of the near by Wicklow mountains. Everything was clean, plenty of space to make your own food. Rooms were nice and the staff (Family) that runs it are great.

Unfriendly, Old, to much money, they don't give an answer on you e-mail. They charge an other price than promised. The bed's are terrible. Rooms to little… Not a place to recommend!

Great modern hostel built on to an original building, staff and facilities are great. Closest bus route is 30 mins walk, so driving is the best option. The door to the kitchen/dining area doesn't close properly but isn't a major issue. Walking routes and views are phenomenal. Beds and dorms are basic but good for a hostel. Breakfast is a paid option and cooking facilities are provided if you wish to cook. Games and puzzles are available from staff on request.

Nice location, rooms are decent for very fair price. I recommend to take the first stage of wicklow way and sleep there.

Definitely a great place to stay while visiting Wicklow Mountains. We got upgraded to a better room with stunning view upon arrival free of charge. It was directed to the East side, so you get to enjoy beautiful sunrise. The man at the reception could have been kinder when speaking with customers… but all people are different :) There are premises to prepare your own food.

Such a nice hostel, great staff! Would highly recommend it :D.

Very modern and clean hostel. Good location near Maulin and some nice local walls nearby. The only down side was the bed was not very comfortable and the door was quite draughty in the strong wind.

Hidden gem in rolling Wicklow Hills, possibly the best Irish hostel!

Nice, clean, cheap accommodation. 3 stars just because of that bigheaded guy from reception. On my first stay there was really lovely lady on reception. But the second time that guy he shouldn't be working with people or at least not making first impression and contact with customers at all.

What an adventure it was to spend weekend on October 2015. People and food was so homely.

Just a hotel if you love hiking! Located in the middle of nowhere, a long Way to Drive and the nearest Shop is far away. Not recommended Without a Car. Nice Staff, Cleanliness ok and beautiful Surroundings. I wouldn'T go to this hotel again, but Hikers should do it.

It is a decent hostel for England standards. Eight to a room with showers across the hall. The hostel overall is massive, but since it is at the beginning of the Wicklow Way it can fill up quickly so book ahead. There is plenty of room for cooking in the kitchen. The hallways are open air so be sure to towel off well before leaving the showers.

Beautiful location but unfriendly, dirty and uncomfortable. Could be great but really needs a makeover… new beds, new armchairs/sofas in lounge, new equipment in activity room.
Poor value at €50 night!

Great staff there, helped me out and called other hostels to see if there were places for me to stay the other nights. Great room.

Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, warm, comfortable bed, excellent shower and beautiful views of the surrounding countryside.

Amazingly beautiful location. The 4-bed dorm rooms are fantastic — the 6 bed mixed dorms are in the older building and not as nice. The staff was helpful and kitchen facilities were clean and well stocked. Great value!

Best youth hostel we stayed in. Very clean. We stayed in the deluxe room and it was awesome. Best views of the whole hostel overlooking the valley. Bring what you need to dine, clean etc as the nearest town is over 5km away. There is a taxi that runs most of the day but expect to pay about €15 each way.

Lovely place to visit, fantastic view. Food was lovely and plentiful. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend knockree for anyone backpacking or a training session. Will be looking forward to my next visit… thanks guys.

Well where do you start hospitality is fantastic views are amazing price should be higher the staff are so so so good the area is sublime and most of all jenny is a beautifull lovely lady defo visiting again best wishes and thank you for making not just my stay fantastic but all our family and friends welcome xx.

Very neat and tidy hostel. Staffs are very friendly and helpful. Had a quiet, nice and peaceful time out there. Access to hiking routes and all that for the outdoor lovers. Great for the mind.

Top hostel, great staff, rooms are clean and quite big, lovely atmosphere, great stop at end of long walk.

Whether you're a hill walker, nature lover or just need to get away with your family for a weekend, Knockree Youth Hostel has it all! It's child friendly as long as your kids dont run a muck. So close to Dublin and in such a beautiful picturesque setting. Ideal for weddings, team building, 21st or any birthday party. And its great because you can house a lot of your guests. If you go there once you'll go back, guaranteed.

This hostel is the must un-child friendly place in Ireland. I had a group of primary school age children, we had to stay indoors from about 5pm because of Storm Desmond. The management team could not have been more aggressive towards the behavior of the children. We were spread across two buildings, so the kids were playing between both buildings, this was a problem. The played upstairs in the common area, this was a problem. On check out, one of the management team, said to one of our young leaders, that we were lucky we weren't thrown out (did I mention Storm Desmond! ). This management team, either need some training in dealing with children or need to find work away from human contact.

Facilities are comfortable, clean and secure. Free Wi-Fi, optional breakfast plan and self-service kitchen. Light in the upstairs bathroom was motion activated, meaning I spent a lot of time showering and shaving in the dark last night.

First, I'd like this extremely friendly Team of Hostels praise. I have rarely such a pleasant entertainment experience. The location is fantastic. The Hostel is located at the forest and you look from the entrance directly into a valley. Also the sea is not terribly far, and with the wheel in one to two hours to reach. The rooms were very different. We guys were lucky and were in comfortable, galerieartigen Sechserzimmern, with shower and toilet separately, to sleep. The girls had to be in a small room without WC/shower squeezing and shared a shower room with seemingly sparse lighting (I myself haven't seen it). The Breakfast was hardly variable, but it tasted and the Breakfast room was nicely decorated. I would use this Hostel, especially young people recommend, but also families, couples or single travellers with not too luxurious claims here can be beautiful times to spend.

Difficult access to Kitchen Facilities — Just one Sink for Washing up Squeaking furniture I'm Allergic to Wifi, so found a nuisance to headache On arrival noticed unrefined details, to stair rail, Not the friendliest staff in the world — a little ruff The Bedroom Carpet make me to Sneeze Blinds with holes in them, rotten, the walls rotten flaking paint Fireplace stone coming out into room hazard Entrance door to dormitory opening and closing in the wind all night. Shower room, flaking paint all over the walls, and door lock broken, as well as the temporary catchlock broken. Views are amazing, Beautiful hostel location and on the right track in many ways modern, but at the same time, seems as if the management are not attending to maintenance, which is very poor.

VERY POOR PERFORMANCE On my arrival to the hostel and entry into my room I noticed that upon the, very uncomfortable, bed that there was stains all over the cover on the mattress, in at least four locations. On the white, so called, clean sheets supplied by the hostel I noticed a blood stain at one end. The walls in the room were not well maintained, the paint was flaking and was not very clean. The blind on the one of the windows was very dirty and there was a hole in blind on the other window. The first impressions were not very good ones. After a lovely days hiking on the Wicklow Way I was looking forward to a nice shower but, as one of my room mates noticed, the shower was not working. The building I was in was very dated. There was an old fire place in the room and when I put my hand under it I could feel could a cool breeze blowing through. I would be very afraid in the room if I had a UV light considering the stains we could see. As there was carpet on the floor I can only imagine the atrocity that it would be. The room I was in was a six bed bedroom but there was only four electrical sockets in the room so two of my room mates had to wait until morning to charge their phones. Their opportunity to this was though was cut short however as the checkout time was a ridiculous 9:30. Although there is a canteen in this hostel I would have preferred to eat pot noodles than the dinner they served.

We brought a group of students to stay in Knockcree hostel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful :) beautiful place to stay and fantastic views. I would really recommended this place to anyone with groups. I am going to return soon with my partner as it would be a lovely place for couples also! the food was absolutely gorgeous, very tasty and great portions given.
