A fantastic place to eat and have a few drinks staffs are fantastic food is fantastic what more do you want, every time I come to Bray I always go to The Martello, I had the Sea bass last time, five Golden stars to the Chef, a big thank you to you all.

Stayed in The Martello lastnight in 1 of the apartments, it was fabulous, so spacious for 4 of us. The food was gorgeous, dinner and fresh cooked breakfast this morning. The staff could not have been any better, they were so good and helpful, mannered and so very friendly. The Hotel is a credit to it's staff. We will be back.

Stayed here with my 2 young kids last Thursday we absolutely loved the apartment and the food! service and comfort were above board a little noisy at night but apart from that we had a blast!

I would recommend Martello to anyone I was there yesterday for first time and I loved food, staff was very friendly and atmosphere was great. I will definitely come back to this place. Happy customer well done to everyone at Martello.

I paid 23 Euro for food that tasted like plastic all of the breakfast was hard and never got the drink I ordered with it either for the price of the food compared to what I got, I would not order from them again.

My sister ordered afternoon tea for my mums birthday, absolutely amazing, so professionally done and even the delivery guy was lovely, food was incredible and so tasty and delicious, highly recommended.

Thankyou for the most delicious Afternoon Tea that was just delivered. Even the sunshine came out to add to the experience. The selection of sandwiches and cakes were just perfect. More than enough for 3 of us. Highly Recommend this as a gift or treat.

Just had a take away delivery and had ordered chicken wings and they had tipped over on delivery. But they came back with a fresh box of chicken wings and two deserts thank Martello.

Fantastic evening today at the Martello for our son’s Confirmation meal. Service was excellent, very attentive. They gave our son a gift and a sparkler on his dessert. It really made his evening. Would highly recommend! Thank you especially to the lovely blonde waitress who served us so well!

We stayed one night here … it was lovely staff were so nice even though they were really busy would do anything to help and all were so polite … the food was amazing and loved the atmosphere it was my hubby’s 50th birthday and when we got there a little card and box of sweets to wish him a happy birthday was in our room would highly recommend this hotel and we will be back again soon.

Great venue, excellent finger food and most importantly really helpful and obliging staff. Kids had a great time and The Martello made it so easy for our volunteers. Highly recommended!

Not happy with food at all considering the price paid greasy fish mostly batter chips nearly raw kids chicken had an unpleasant taste of it and they didnt eat it but staff where prompt and friendly was it's only draw sorry but I have to be honest.

We go to the Martello all the time but Sunday night was a disaster. Four times we send our daughter out to get the waitress who was more than nice when she came into us. Food was not up to the usual standard, very disappointed.

My family come and stay at the Martello every year! This year I was able to join them I can’t sing their praises enough! The staff couldn’t do enough for them and looked after them so much! Our room was so comfortable clean and food was second to none! Thank you so much and will will be seeing you all next year!

We had a meal upstairs and really enjoyed it. There's a nice view out across the seafront. The food was good and the staff were really friendly and helpful, all creating a nice atmosphere in the place.

Sat down at 5.50pm on a busy Tuesday afternoon. At 6.05 we decide to get our own menus. At 6.20 we left. The staff can't be blamed for these wait times, they're being run off their feet and bombarded by people looking for service while running to and fro with orders. Management need to cop on and put on more staff for good weather and busy days. Extremely disappointing. I've never had to leave a restaurant before but 30 mins of trying to catch someone's eye is too much.

Liveliest bar on sea front. Great food. Perfect rooms. Near everything. Noise from nightclub and dart no issue. Staff very friendly but could be quicker service with cutlery, menus & taking orders.

Such an amazing place to hold a celebration. We’ve had christenings, confirmations and now a 40th birthday. We’ve never had anything but professional, reliable and above all such friendly and helpful staff. We couldn’t recommend this place enough. Thanks to all the staff, it was really appreciated.

Great place with good food, service a bit slow at times but that mainly to do with trying to cater for large crowds especially at weekends & in Summer. Dog friendly. Parking difficult as it's along the sea front & prom which is a wonderful attraction all year. Kiddies play area also.

Very good bar. Good for bar food and late night club to. Excellent beer garden and generally live music on the weekends. Lively place for a great night out.

The place is really nice, quite. The staff should be more prepared (they were running around lot seeming not to know what they were doing) but they are overall really nice We took two starters, they were both quite fine. Calamari could have been cut even smaller, so it would be much more comfortable eating them and King size prawns were tasteless (but this is a problem we found in Ireland, prawns are simply tasteless here). Then the pasta came and we were shocked. The bread with pasta? No salt in the pasta? Crab wasn't even clean but we found things we can't eat in our plates? But the biggest mistake was putting cheese together with the fish. Unfortunately, this pasta recipe had almost nothing to do with the Italian pasta. And for a price of 17, 50€ per plate is simply overpriced. Then I made a mistake of my life and ordered an espresso which a) wasn't even an espresso but a really short americano b) seems it waited days on the counter before arriving on my table. Just, awful but we still have to try the meat.

As always, excellent food and service today as we celebrated our son Kai's confirmation. We also celebrated his communion here and the little touch of the gift voucher for Kai back then left us very impressed, to see it is still a thing you do with added personalised jellies is really nice along with the personalised menus. It's the little extra touches like these, great staff and service along with excellent well priced food that makes The Martello an ideal place to share time, food and laughs with family and friends. Nice and courteous staff. Location right on the beach. For people who want to party on weekends certainly a highlight. Those who want to be quiet should avoid the weekend though.

We were a table of 7 and we found the service to be very poor. We all ordered main courses and were sitting with the chips which came with each meal for over 10 mins before the actual meals came out. When we asked the server they went and checked and brought out a few of the meals to go with the now cold chips. One of us actually had to wait until everyone else was finished before their meal came out. Place needs to be organised better. However the food was decent once it arrived.

Great location on the seafront, very popular with plenty of seating. Menu and food of good variety and very tasty. Staff great with kids great on a sunny day.

Stayed here once and the room was great! Love the food and drinks here too, visit for that often. Great staff as well. Definitely recommend it as both a hotel and restaurant.

Went tonight for food! Ordered chicken wings which were delish! Then waited a very long time for our mains to come. My boyfriend really enjoyed his food so can’t fault it, he had the special which was duck. However my main, “the pie of the week” was awful. It was very burnt. I had thought it was just the potatoes on the top but once I picked them off I saw it was all very burnt. Barely touched my food which was a shame as it was 13.95! When the server finally came to remove the plates, some 15 minutes after we were both finished, he asked if we liked our food. I explained that mine was burnt, the server apologised and advised that he would inform the chef. We asked for the bill… waited another 15 minutes. Finally we got fed up. A lady who I can only assume was a manager saw us looking at her. And very loudly asked “why we were looking at her”. We explained that we were waiting a long time for the bill. At this time the server walked by and apologised as he “forgot”. The manager didn’t even apologise for the extremely poor service — that we paid 56€ to endure. Used to really enjoy going for dinner here but honestly it is getting worse and worse. Not the first time I have had a similar experience in The Martello.

Lovely hotel. Room was four star level with a king size bed and well placed ambient lighting. En-suite was much bigger than I've found in more prestigious hotels with a large walk-in shower. Breakfast menu had a huge selection with even a separate section for eggs. I went for the creamy porridge with blueberries, strawberries and honey. It came in a huge bowl and was a meal in itself. It was accompanied by a large glass of juice and tea with toast. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There was live music in the covered patio area out front. Audience participation was encouraged, which made for a lively night. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the Dublin/Wicklow area.

Hotel located in Bré in the county of Wicklow, with spectacular views over the beach, ideal to relax and stroll through its long, sandy beach.

The restaurant is excellent. They have the best chowder I have ever tried and the view is great. Highly recommend it.

Highly recommend the Martello to anybody coming to stay in Bray. You are made to feel welcome from the minute you walk in! The rooms are comfortable and clean, the bistro and bar Menus are delicious — and updated seasonally — and there is plenty of choice for everyone. The staff are always very helpful and pleasant, and the service is great.

I went on a Friday with my mam, the place has a great atmosphere and a bbq came out during the night. Would definitely recommend to a friend.

The place is pretty nice. We had food which was pretty good apart from the chips. The portion size for the chips was minuscule but because they tasted wierd they didn't get eaten anyway. Some at the table thought they had been refried, I thought that some non standard oil had been used. Either way the chips tasted strange and I would avoid if I went again.

Outstanding room, staff, dinner and included breakfast (you order off the menu). Well worth the stay. We'll gladly stay here again. Mind the street parking meter times…

The pub you have is pretty good. He's got a lot of hot food. I recommend the males and the squid. For dessert They have a pretty good Bubble waffle.

I went to Martello it is very cozy and it is very nice. The food is excellent, I ordered a burger which was delicious.

Sat night my treasure of a girl and I went for a nibble after our church's Christmas Caroling Service. The Martello was packed with Christmas parties because we aren't the only ones who love the place. The hostess was fantastic, our beautiful server and even Conor who brought our food hot and quickly made our time warm and wonderful. I had a business mtng at the Martello and everyone takes pains to do it ALL right. Lackadaisical hospitality people just don't work there and well trained happy employees show good management. Christmas decoration is tasteful and you can find loud musical areas to intimate dining. The Martello has it ALL.

I dont think this place should be promoted as a hotel, at best its a Bar/nightclub with rooms above it. The room was tiny, the Bedroom door hits the bed when you walk in and there was no where to put our luggage, the carpets where very dirty and worn out as well. The music from the bar/nightclub was so loud that the windows in the room where vibrating, we even had to turn the TV up because we couldn't hear it due to the loud music, the music went on until 2:30 in the morning at that volume so we hardly got a wink of sleep as we where up at 6am. I have travelled all over the world and stayed in some pretty terrible hotels but I have never felt more ripped off than I did at The Martello "Hotel" I payed £140 for 1 night to effectively get 2 hours sleep in a room the size of a cupboard. I wouldn't recommend this "hotel" to anyone, especially not on the weekend.

We were here a couple of times for lunch. The food was good and the service was kind. Nice views of the sea from the outside area.

The regular apartments, the Windows do not close well, regular cleaning.
The treatment of the employees very good, they strive to understand you, help you in everything they can and treat you phenomenal, delighted.

Brilliant place submitted a complaint about noise but we were clearly given compensation and we are very grateful we went for a surprise birthday party and stayed the night rooms really nice and lovely restaurant/bar and staff would recommend but beware if you are at the front of the building the noise levels might be a bit to much apart from that 10 out of 10 will be back within the month!

Great spot to stay the night before heading into the craziness of Dublin. Staff were fabulous, food was good and the walk along the promenade at your doorstep wonderful. Thanks for the advice to check out the Harbour Pub nearby. Unique and great for a pint… or two.

Stayed here few times. Location very good. Walking distance to town and train station. Ask for sea view room if available. Some rooms definitely better than others. Staff and food very good. We had lunch dinner and breakfast and if was just visiting area would go here to eat. Lovely walk along coast to greystones, we were lucky to see a seal and a porpoise.

You have a good night and couldn't find out one of those people are eating at the end of the day.

Great place for either stop off or overnight. Food is great value and we'll presented. Staff are very friendly and nothing is a bother to them to make your visit pleasurable.

Stayed twice, once with the family. And once with a stag party. And enjoyed both occasions. Only thing I would say is the street adjacent to the apartments can get noisy at night as there's a kebab shop, and seems like that's where bray people go at the end of an evening to finish the night lol.

Staff are great, great location photos taken from just outside. The function room is fab as are the various floors. Room was a little small and could do with rennovating as its a little dated. Food was also good nice portion but maybe a little to salty.

I went for dinner here on Tuesday with my wife after work and the food is always fantastic but what made this dinning out experience so good for me was the staff couldn't have been any nicer. Kate looked after us and is the main reason I'm writing this review. I don't think I have ever came across a nicer person and the level of service she gave was A+ she is a huge credit to your business. I would highly recommended.

Love this place, the hotel is very good they have live music sometimes but even isn't live it's always a good selection! They have an amazing egg benedict for breakfast!

The Martello dishes out the best BBQ chicken wings I've ever had and the menu is second to none… I recommend the wings to start whit. The staff are a friendly bunch too.

Large outdoor seating area, with lots of TV's for sports. We both had did the fish was good but the batter not so good. My wife had a chicken salad which was very tasty. Good selection of beers on draft and a selection of craft beers.

Stayed In Marello Hotel in Bray 7th March, It was for a friends 50th Birthday, there was 8 of us, we stayed in the apartments. From the time we got there to the time we left the next day we had a great time. The staff were wonderful couldnt do enough for us, apartments were spotless, food and entertainment was great. I would highly recomend this hotel. Rita.

I love this place. Great food. Service sometimes can be slow but that's expected when you have a lot of guests all the time.

As a bar it was good and clearly the place to be seen on an evening out in Bray. There were a couple of 'discos' — one for young people and one for more older people (where I was). I wouldn't have been surprised had the DJ played the Tweety Song but from a low point he improved. I ordered a meal that was so horrible I had to have it returned and be refunded. This is the only time I have ever had to do that. My families meals were not good either.

Really enjoyed the setting with a view of the magnificent Bray Head and the food. A dinner for 4 with a bottle of white came under 110 euros. Don't know about my meat-eating friends, but I really enjoyed the vegetarian selection. The fried brie might not have been the most amazing ever, but the vegetarian lasagne was ideal. The possibility to smoke outdoors might irk some, but then again some others will enjoy that. Service was a bit on the slow side but it was a busy Saturday evening and it was at all times very friendly. Setting: 7/10 Value for money: 8/10 Service: 7/10.

Terrible tourist trap. Went there for a bite of dinner because everything around was full or closed. Bad decision. Outdoor seating had loud noise and many smokers. The service was extremely slow, food very mediocre, and on top of everything else they put chicken into vegetarian pasta. Avoid by all means.
