Lovely food there yesterday and very nice Girl looked after us.

This was an absolute nightmare. A very basic and dated hotel with limited facilities and absolutely no concern for the welfare of its guests.
We had to call the Gardai/Police at 4am because the drunk night porter was too busy serving a full bar to deal with a group of 20+ youngsters partying all over the hotel, verbally abusing and seriously physically threatening other guests We had been calling porter/reception/bar since 2am when the party started. Looking at other reviews, having to call the police in the early hours is quite normal here!
Cold showers. Horrible dry breakfast. Even if we hadn't had such a traumatic and scary night they are charging way too much for very limited facilities and quite shabby accommodation. It seems so long as money is going in the till anything goes.

Avoid this hotel. They can not seem to handle online bookings. Made a booking via booking. Com, subsiquently rang two days before arrival to confirm with the hotel and provided a booking reference, yet they had no record of the booking. I decided therefore to make other arrangements only to find on the morning of check out that Newbury had taken 60 euro plus a no show email from booking. Com. When I rang Newbury to enquire they claimed the booking was under a different name and the lady I spoke to was extremely ignorant and dismissive on the phone. I can only imagine that they double booked the room. Avoid.

Clean rooms, simple breakfast choices with coffee and tea. Wi-Fi also strong. Close to a few eating spots and a walkable distance to grocery stores and the hospital. Friendly staff.

Very central to town, within walking distance from bus/train station. Newly refurbished.

Had lunch here on a Saturday, food very nice and a very reasonable price.

That's always a strong sign for me, when you meet just man working in the touristik/gastronomy. In such cases expect nothing. The rooms are nice little cubbyholes. I use to call places like this a Kabuff. If a hotel bills you right from the first moment you enter the door, they do it because they expect you to be unsatisfied in the end. Usually if I have the time in such cases I search something else. They do not accept Amex and MasterCard. Just maestro and cash. They prefer cash here. The receptionist was staring at my credit cards like he never seen credit cards before. Btw every employee in this hotel you meet only one time.

Another great all you can eat Chinese restaurant.

It's a small hotel compared to others in town, but as the saying goes, some of the best things come in small packages, and this is it.

Stopped to have lunch here. I found the food to be average and there were definitely no smiles. I am sure there is better service with a focus on customer care elsewhere in the town.

Well I didn't actually stay at the hotel TG. We dined in the Chinese that is in the hotel… all I can say is that has to be the worst Chinese in Ireland… what I say. Dirty tables, a waiter that had no English. Asked for no onion in the complete meal. Meal arrived and onion in every dish. Sent it back and of course it arrived back to the table with the onion just picked out of it… never again… and on a further note none of it was fresh… dined on 28/7/2017 All I can say is stay away.

Nice cozy place with bar inside. Rooms are clean. Not much of a view from room we had. Staff are friendly food was nice prices not too steep. Has got a Chinese restaurant underneath that does buffet as well but not your usual kind of buffet the foods not on display to help yourselves its an order then they bring it to you starters then mains all you can eat. The Chinese food is nice but would prefer to serve myself. Only bad point was the card machine wasn't working to pay for the hotel so had to pay cash from my trip money then go bank to draw out more euro's as I'm from England and use pounds so had to pay a charge on top to use a cash machine. Overall nice hotel.

Worst place I ever went in to have dinner never again wudnt recomend it to anyone the lad behind the bar could do with a course in manners. Ive never come accross anyone as ignorant!

Nice staff, comfy and clean rooms, plenty of hot water, really good breakfast and free Wi-Fi. €95 for a twin room with breakfast in a hotel right in the town is pretty good. Recommend it.

I was very disappointed with how my family and I were treated today in the hotel. We were only in the door 2 minutes, sitting ourselves down before ordering food however we were approached by the owner who was extremely rude to me and my family. In the most ignorant way possible we were ordered to remove ourselves from the lobby as it is only for residents. I know this isn't true as I've went to the newbury for the last 4 years on St Patrick Day. I had one of my twins strapped to my chest and my partner had the other twin attached to his. Our twins are only 5 months old. This man (the owner) kept staring at us until we left. In the end we had to stand out in the rain because we felt so unwelcomed, while watching other people who only walked into the hotel sit in the same area, these people were definitely not residents but they had no children with them. Noone on this planet has the right to treat someone the way we were treated today. It was disgraceful. I'll never come to this hotel again.
