A long awaited weekend away after having a baby three months ago. We were so looking forward to it but to say we were disappointed was an understatement. From the hazardous entrance to our room especially with a buggy, waiting 45 minutes for our order to be taken in the clubhouse (no lift or slope to get a pram upstairs. No idea what a person in a wheelchair or just with poor mobility would do), asking for toast with our breakfast and not getting it. Staff borderline rude to us first morning. We were given a room directly above the bar and after two nights we ran out of the place home to get sleep. Paid extra for the 4 poster bed. You couldn't move an arm without the beds creaking waking us. To make matters worse first night was music which we could have got over as it finished reasonably early and was easy listening. Second night there was a wedding and they sounded like they were in the room with us and camped out on the stairwell outside the door. More exhausted now after what was supposed to be an enjoyable first family break away. After 13+ years in the industry myself I would Never put a couple with a young baby in or near where there would be such noise and also we had nothing to do with the function. Unless this hotel is not in the position to offer any quiet rooms. I thought that this would have been our first family break away to remember and possibly somewhere we could return to. No such case and we would never recommend it to anyone for a relaxing break with or without children.
Just to be fair the leisure centre was fabulous and the staff there couldn't have been more attentive to us. Also the Sat night we were in the club house there was a gent there serving and made us feel welcome something lacking elsewhere. The same lady checked us in and out and was very courteous but sure she was helpless to us so I felt guilty complaining to her when she asked about our stay.

Nightly rates from $170
