Spent two nights here for a work visit. Pleasant hotel, had two very nice meals. The stir fry and the steak were very nice. Wi-Fi signal was very good. Surprised the place doesn't have a pool considering the size of the building, one to think about in time maybe? Staff were very nice and helpful. Fire alarm went off at 3am, the only annoying thing about the stay. Suppose it'd be worse if there was a fire and it didn't go off. Grand hotel all round.

Hotel good for families but on our stay there was too many kids in the Tara lounge to enjoy after dinner drinks. So we just had drinks in our room.

The restaurant is the most unorganised place I have went to eat and the most terrible food I have eaten. Raw Pizza, the most blandest pasta, had to remind time amd time again for what we wanted with wrong drinks coming. We were served by about 5 different servers. Everything was rushed, the restaurant was overpacked with literally kids sitting right next to me. So disorganised, did not enjoy my dinner at all.

Fantastic hotel. Great package deals for tayto park and zoo, convenient for both. Can't fault the place. Very accommodating friendly staff and amazing food.

We took our family to city north last weekend for our daughters communion. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. It was such a lovely weekend and the staff couldn’t do enough. They went above and beyond and nothing was too much bother. We will definitely be going back.

Just a quick message to thank the manager Eddie Rankin and his fantastic staff for a brilliant day at my nephew communion yesterday from the minute we are arrived till we left they couldn't do enough for us the kids had a ball too highly recommend booking this place for any event.

Staff are brilliant and food was fantastic was will definitely be back to stay soon highly recommended.

Great spot for night before a flight, great priced parking and complimentary shuttle bus took about 15 mins. Staff all very friendly and burgers in bar are amazing!

The staff are very friendly helpfull and eager to please esp the reception staff, the rooms are nice very comfy and clean but I was there in a group and we were so disappointed with the food the dish either came out not complete with lots missing or the soup was cold and I had a chicken dish that was raw I spoke to manage and was offered another one but really that was unacceptable, the show we were at was very good though, we did try breakfast this morning which was nice plenty of it the only let down was the pastries that had not been defrosted fully, so again disappointing.

I recently attended the Darts here with a wheelchair user. The restaurant staff were brilliant and made sure we had an easily accessible table.
On leaving the hotel to go to the darts one of the staff offered to walk us over to the other building and opened doors for us. This makes a huge impact on our evening and makes everything so much easier. It was very much appreciated and plenty of help offered while at the darts and on leaving also.
We will definitely be back again! Thank you.

Stayed here last night for our one year anniversary. We where totally spoilt. We stayed in the bridal suite. Prosecco and cakes left in the room for us. Gorgeous tasty food at dinner. Lovely atmosphere. Tasty breakfast very friendly and attentive staff

Fabulous place, we attended a party last night Aug 17 the service we received was 100 per cent, food was amazing, staff so friendly, the toilets were spotless great smoking area for the smokers. Cold, bland food had to return it, orders took far too long to arrive. Staff ignore you, tables not cleared. Will avoid in future.

The 2018 weddingsonline Awards were held there. I was delighted to be a guest and also a supplier of the Table Plan for the event.
Can not speak more highly of the venue. Food was fantastic, staff could not be more helpful and the room we stayed in was fantastic. 10/10

Noisiest Hotel I've ever been in. Teenagers rampaging through the hotel creating havoc. I got to sleep after 5am and had to be up at 6.30 to do a day's work. I even tried sleeping in the bathroom to get away from the racket. £120 a night? Shocking.

The room had drawings on units dust on the walls and a fowl smell in the bathroom. Spent two and a half hours waiting on dinner that I could have cooked better at home also kids never got their Ice cream I ended up going across the road to get them something as I thought I had waited long enough. Have no intentions of ever staying here again.

Rooms need decorating walls need cleaned carpets stained and worn. In the bar lounge very disorganised. Service was non existent had to call someone over to place our orders. Waiting for food for long time. Kids didn't even get their dessert. Never again.

Went 2 years ago. Not very child friendly. Went this year and it's an amazing hotel for families. Kids club ran very well. Rooms spotless.

Great hotel. Very clean, very open but still private if your with someone. Good value on Sunday dinner. Worth a visit if your in the area.

Hi for a 4star rating Hotel it wasn’t what we expected, the beds were very uncomfortable and one was broke we stayed in a family room and after a late check in following the tayto Park we ordered room service as we had young children. They took the order wrong and overcharged us for food that wasn’t very good and was served at room temp at best. The TV was so old it didn’t have a HDMI port to play the kids a short film before bed either. The breakfast next morning was terrible, we were sat as a family of 5 at the smallest table in the restaurant and all the hot food was so greasy. Unfortunately I would not recommend this hotel to friends family and would not be back.

Stayed in this hotel last weekend, having stayed before we thought this would be prefect for a night away with the children (10 years old & 11 months old), and booked the funtasia deal. After a day at tayto park we arrived at the hotel wanting a nice meal and a good nights sleep. When ordering food there was a number of things (food & drink) the hotel had run out of, after waiting over 20 mins for someone to take our food order we asked could the baby’s food be brought out as soon as it was ready to be told this wasn’t possible. We watched as the man in charge of the restaurant at the time told the waiter we would just have to wait whether we liked it or not. After waiting 25 mins for our food, we ate and went to our room. I then took my eldest child to this games room he was so excited about, to his disappointment the Xbox and games machines weren’t working so we left. The night just went from bad to worse, we were room 216 (just above the outdoor smoking/drinking area), so expected some noise, but as this was a family hotel assumed it would quiet down as the night went on. It did not. The shouting, singing, fighting went on to 5:45, despite us complaining to staff when none of us had any sleep come 4:30 am. This was in addition to the children of these families running up and down the corridors to the early hours.

Got married here on Saturday and this hotel is a 4* hotel with 10* treatment. Fiona the wedding coordinator is absolutly outstanding to deal with. Anything I asked of her she did with no hesitation. Nothing was a problem for her and on the day I got so emotional because down to every small detail she had done to perfection. Not 1 single thing went wrong and I know that was down to Fiona. All staff were so amazing on the day and every single guest commented on how well they were treated by staff and the food and service was top class. Every email or phone call I made to Fiona on the run up to my big day was replied to strait away, any requests I had was met and done to perfection. I honestly can't thank Fiona enough for making my whole journey up to my wedding day so pleasureable and stress free. You deserve an award for best wedding Coordinator of the year. Thanks again to all staff for making my day be the best day of my life.

Me and my family stayed here two years ago and it was great staff where really helpfully food was Amazing and the room were very clean couldn't fault the hotel so when we decided to go to Dublin for a few days this year we wanted to stay here again what a big mistake never again. The food was shockingly bad after getting our drink order wrong they got or food order wrong. As a chef myself I wouldn't dream of serving that to my customers. The rooms didn't look like they had seen a hover. The mats in the bath weren't takin out to clean the bath the bath was all slimy beneath. The TV reception was terrible kids couldn't even watch a cartoon at night. While the restaurant has been done up since we were last here and the set up for breakfast looks great can't say the same for the food. The fried eggs were like rubber bullets. Well over cooked sausages. Scrambled in were just sitting in a puddle of water if the chef couldn't tell they were over cooked he's either stupid or just a complete idiot. The plates weren't washed properly. Inform your chefs seasoning is a chefs best friend. The games room is a joke. At least the kids enjoyed the wee park. Thank God for the wee shop across the road. Will never be back in your door again a very disappointing stay.

I stayed here on a 12 hour (overnight) layover in Dublin. Because there was a concert happening, it was the only decent priced place around that night (anything closer on short notice was about $400/night, this was under $100). The website says it's 15 minutes from the airport, but the ride took a good 30 minutes minimum at a late hour with barely any traffic. Still it was worth the savings in the cost, but may not suit someone wanting to explore the city often. The hotel was clean, although it needs a serious update. Friendly staff and a number of amenities made it a welcome stop after many days and hours traveling when I needed a rest. Reserve the free airport shuttle in advance if you can, because it can fill up quickly and sometimes there may not be another for an hour. They have a pretty good breakfast buffet with lots of options (full Irish). The low stars are only because it's so incredibly outdated and far from everything, but otherwise I enjoyed my stay and was very glad to have stayed here.

The place is lovely, I only came for dineer although the Food was far from complaints! The Drinks are very nice! When we went there was a dance competition on and we still found lots of seats and it wasn't loud at all it was truly amazing! The Staff are really friendly. The food arrives very quick and is cheap enough for what you get!

I booked a stay, park and fly package here. I liked the good car park with easy access to the hotel. The hotel is easy to find, and there is a free shuttle to the airport. The hotel room was a good size and looked fairly clean. The bed was not very comfy, a bit hard and lumpy. The bathroom was not as good as it could be. The towels smelt of chip fat, there were rust marks on the bath shower screen, the toilet seat wobbled and the water pressure was up and down when showering. The bar food was just OK, though and a bit expensive at 15e for a burger or pizza. Breakfast was OK — self service, and a decent selection. I would like to rate this hotel higher and if they fix the problems would stay again if I got a deal.

Sorry guys, I am not one for writing negative reviews. But decided to write this not so positive review in the hope someone of the City North Hotel management might see my review. I believe a few small changes would make a huge difference. But before I start, I must say that the food and bedroom were of 5 star standard. Now for the not so good review. I found the lobby a bit chilly. There were glasses and teacups left on the tables in the lobby with no sign of anyone clearing the tables even though these tables were in full view of the check in desk. While getting a plate for breakfast, I had to take the forth plate down as the top three plates were not properly cleaned. I had to go looking for tea and coffee for breakfast. And finally, I got the feeling that some of the staff, (not all) were really not happy in their jobs, and this showed. I think a smile or hello would not go astray. Sorry guys, but at the moment, I don't think I will be revisiting CityNorth Hotel anytime soon.

Decided to come here with clients I work alongside who have special needs on the Saturday of the bank holiday weekend. Really wish that we went elsewhere. Chef at carvery was abrupt and rude towards us. When we asked for chips he replied "Go to the other side and ask someone" I had a lady with severe Autism beside me at that time. The food was a disgrace (thrown together and tasteless) and one meal didn't come out as it was stated on the menu. The only saving grace was the very polite young man serving us. Not a place to go if you want good food and to be treated with respect. It wouldn't allow me to post with zero star so that's why it received 1.

Never again. Went to see Tommy Tiernan with my fiancee and stay the night. The hotel CANNOT cater for an event. We decided to go for dinner before the show which was disastrous to the point where the food on the menu did not describe what was served at all. Pints being served in plastic containers when you could clearly see pint glasses behind the bar. The next morning we got breakfast delivered to the room, which also turned out to be terrible. Toast came but no butter eggs were completely over cooked and the croissants were hard as a rock. Would not recommend staying here at all unfortunately. I have stayed at many hotels around the world and the experience here was by far the worst.

This is a pretty decent hotel that covers off the basic need of having a meeting in a semi decent environment. The food is okay and the service is quite good. I'd definitely use this hotel as a common meeting point between Dublin and the North. It's reasonably priced and equidistant between Dublin and Dundalk.

Awful… We were on a bus tour… They marched out with coffee and a bun. Cost €5 EURO each… Very expensive. I didn't ask fore tea /coffee and a bun. But was told I should pay up like you didn't have a choice… I walked out discussed feeling cheated… If on another tour. I'm sitting out side… So I don't get taken fore a mug.

Service in the bar is desperate. Mistakes on the bill. Not only a one off. Have to walk around looking for someone to serve you and poor communication among staff so you end up not getting yr dessert after waiting 45 mins to be told it's not available.

I had a tasty and reasonably priced carvery lunch there. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.

We have had no response from the hotel about our complaint or request for a refund. From the moment we arrived until we left, our experience was horrible. Had we known that there was going to be a raucous children's event that consumed the entire hotel, we would not have booked. However, we were unaware of this and were surprised upon arrival at the hundreds of children screeching around the hotel unsupervised, playing around on the various floors and lifts until at least 9pm. The music was so loud coming from the lounge that we could hear it from 4 floors above. After traveling all day, we just wanted a place to eat a meal and rest. It took several hours for a table in the restaurant to even clear, and at least an hour before getting our meal delivered to the table, in a room that resembled more of a county fair than a dining establishment. As annoying and upsetting as all this was, even more problematic was the fact that later in the evening, all of the water ceased to work in our room. We were unable to flush the toilet, shower, brush our teeth, or even wash our hands. This complete lack of running water continued into the following morning, and we therefore had to leave the hotel unclean and unable to even do so much as brush our teeth before catching an 8-hour international flight home.

We booked a night for my kids with the tayto park package thinking that the park was included only to find we had to pay 15€ per person when we got to the park to get a wrist band for the rides. (probably my own fault for not reading what was included) I will get over that. But to add to that the Hotel it's self is a shambles. First off the dirt that was on top of the beer taps was disgusting. They had no Budweiser or carlsberg left. Now onto the food the menu was very poor so my wife and myself decided not to order so we order for the kids. One cheeseburger meal and sausages and mash. We waited over half hour for it to come out and when it did there was no cheese on the the cheeseburger just a plain very burnt burger in a bun which my son didn't eat. I went to pay and complain about the burger only to be told by the manager that there was nothing he could do as we ordered from the kids menu not the adults menu. We are in the hotel tonight Thursday 5/03/2018. I wanted to just go home but as this was a treat to the kids we decided to stay and get on with it. I will never return to this hotel and would never recommend anyone to come here. Absolutely disgusting hotel and poor customer service from the manager.

I'm just back from The City north and the service was terrible. First we ordered drinks and asked for a menu which the waitress never brought. Then we asked another staff member for a menu again. When I called a waiter to take our order he turned and walked away. A few minutes later we got someone to take our food order. When the food arrived the order was wrong. After we ate, we were having drinks and one of the staff came over and hoovered under our feet and then pulled the table away from us. He never said a word, just pull our table away. This was at 11:10pm!
Shocking service and it was very quiet so no excuses of being too busy. I'll avoid from now on!

The meeting rooms are spacious. It's a very good place for business meetings as its only half an hour from Dublin Airport. The staff are extremely friendly and very prompt. The restaurant is also good. The carvery is very good quality and the portions are very good. The restaurant is well laid out for business lunches. This is a great hotel. Rates are also pretty reasonable.

This is a lovely hotel close to the M1 motorway. There is a great bus service to Dublin every hour. Recommend this hotel to anyone.

Arrived at Dublin Airport for transfer to hotel which did not turn up! Rang to be told we had been forgotten about! Great start. Got to hotel, stood for ten minutes at reception then got served by the most unhelpful unfriendly receptionist I have ever met. Was told we could not pay in sterling however after obviously giving her a lot of bother she went and asked a manager and this could be done. Then we were told we couldn't get anything to eat because we were too late! Even though the reason why we were later than expected was because we were not picked up at airport! No apology either. Not a good first impression of hotel however when we went into bar area the staff were absolutely lovely and friendly and told us of course we could get something to eat. Room was lovely and spacious. Tv lost picture half way through watching a film. Hotel is very handy but very much doubt we will be back.

Lovely hotel with friendly and helpful staff the bedroom was very large with a comfortable bed and pillows and also provided slippers and dressing gowns. We really enjoyed our stay.

Hotel is quite spacious and has a very pleasant outside view and is well priced. But the room walls are quite thin and voices travel easily. Beds are full of springs and thermostat kept shutting off every two hours during the night resulting in a much too warm room. Be sure to pay for the breakfast buffet when checking in to hotel or it goes from 10 euros to 12.75. I rated it 4 stars because the overall price was quite reasonable.

Poor quality of food, not much choice for breakfast. We were there 5 weeks and can't eat same stuff every morning. When asked for an omelette I was told that this is not included in the breakfast. This hotel should have 3stars only. Our tools was stolen from van at the hotel car park, we spoke with number of people and this happens regularly and there is still easy access to the car park for robbers (they can drive through the grass area as there is no fence) …

Hot rooms and cold food. The Room When we checked in we were warned by a female front desk staff that the thermostats only went to 17 Celsius. My husband and I thought this would be fine as a room at 17 would be average and comfortable. This was not to be the case. It is true that the thermostat could only be set to 17 but the room itself never fell below 22. All night. At times it was as high as 24. When I complained the next morning a male member of staff laughed at me and told me that if I did not know how to use the thermostat I should have asked. I did understand the device. The vent did blow cool air. Just not nearly cool enough nor with enough force to make the room habitable. It was misery. None of us slept well and we faced an 11 hour flight the next day. My three year old son developed a cough from having a dry throat all night and may I remind you that this was met with snide and derisive comments from staff. Even when I opened the door into the hallway to try to cool the room it was futile as the halls were also excessively warm. Clearly this is an ongoing issue as demonstrated by the warning from the lady who checked us in. The Restaurant Guests were invited to seat themselves (I asked) so we did. And we waited. And we waited. And we waited. Finally my husband asked a passing server for a menu and was brushed off saying our server should have already brought one. And we waited.

The City North hotel is adjacent to the M1 motorway so it's very easy to get to and it has a very large car park. The restaurant area has been renovated and looks really nice but the rest of the hotel could do with the same. The carpets in the room were covered in stains. The check-in was very slow, I don't know why this takes so long. Overall its a nice hotel and good value.

I don't usually write reviews but CityNorth Hotel was such a surprise that I said I had to review it. We stayed here in June on a Funtasia 1 night package for 2 adults and 3 children. This hotel, is very reasonably priced, the staff were all very helpful and very friendly. We ate in the bar with another family and they were so accommodating and understanding (4 adults, 7kids). The food was absolutely gorgeous, the bar was comfortable. The rooms were as you'd expect size wise but they were clean and the beds were comfortable! After we checked out we received a call from housekeeping, my daughter had left her teddy behind. The hotel said they would send it down to us no problem. Overall this hotel was a true gem to find and we will definitely stay here again!

Had breakfast here. The food was great. Fresh, tasty, hot and plentiful. The service was polite, but a but think on the ground. I could only spot 3 members of staff for a restaurant with 50-100 diners.

Nice modern hotel. Friendly staff and nice restaurant. Twenty minutes drive from Dublin.

We stayed on the 6th floor. The room was amazing, it came with 2 beds, tv, and floor by floor Wi-Fi. We took dessert in the lounge and it was delicious. The staff was accommodating and we will definitely consider staying there again if we are ever in the area.

Absolutely appalling stay felt so embarressed got late check out and staff just walking into the room since 9 o'clock in the morning 3 times it happend rang reception the second time and just got told sorry wouldn't happen again but unfortunately it Did 3rd time was just out of the shower and man walked in to the room so rang down again this time fuming once again was told sorry wouldn't happen again wouldn't never stay here again … Going home feeling embarressed and tired!

The food is 5 star but the bar staff seem disinterested and the 3 craft beers on tap were unavailable when we visited.

Hi me and my two stayed 1 night before flying the next day 1 of my sons lost his I phone my wife conttacted the hotel as we had to leave 1 week later we returned to the hotel to find the phone had been found and returned I would like to thank the staff and Niamh Leddy for help and kindness we will use the hotel again.

Bit of a mess in the lobby, always food and crumbs everywhere. Otherwise everything else is superbly clean. Rooms are cozy and have free Wi-Fi. Small selection of basic channels. Shuttle to airport has to be booked in advance so dont forget to do that, also make sure you have your times correct! Breakfast was superb, extra charge. Plenty to choose from and very affordable. Lobby/bar has good selection of drinks but a bit expensive. The CON, terrible transportation. The buses are rarely on time and getting anywhere will require either a rental car, waiting for a random bus or a cab fair. Plan your transortation ahead of time or only use this hotel as an airport one night. Overall, clean with great customer service but far too far away from anything and with little transportation options or very expensive ones.

Have to give it to you Guys…. Very good Sunday lunch, service and customer interaction.

BEWARE DO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT YOUR CAR BROKEN INTO stayed here last week had my van broken into and all my tools stolen staff were unsympathetic towards me and as I was waiting on the police coming I just happened to bump into 5 other workmen who told me it happens evey week instead of adding extra cctv to the carpark and extra barriers why not take that money and pay a security man to look after the carpark. also I was told that a man who stayed just weeks ago had his catalytic coverter cut off his brand new jeep seriously if your a workman with valuables in ur van DO NOT STAY HERE.

Im giving this hotel 5 stars because I was pleasantly surprised on arrival with my 3 children to be told there is a kiddies club and also a games room. I had a lovely evening relaxing. My daughters loved every minute of the club which is from 6-9.30. I had a lovely meal in the tara lounge were staff were very nice. Food was too. Beds just ok. Bottom of bed was broken. Windows were full of hand prints just very grubby. Morning breakfast was nice. Staff seemed very tired and unhelpful big change from the night before. Anyway all in all I still think it deserves 5 stars as I was so impressed how they were with all children.

It is just a normal hotel in the middle of absolutely no where. For travellers (esp. From the North) it made sense to stay here if you were flying away for a long time as they did not charge for parking. Unfortunately, some dipstick has decided to end that and I, for one, will never ever stay here again. In fact, maybe it is better this way because it is so far away from the airport anyway, I've missed two flights trying to save money on parking — not worth it. (Transfers can be very slow at once an hour with a 40 min drive) There are a plethora of closer airport hotels with prices even less than what these bozos are now charging. It is such a shame the hotel (or likely some greedy consultant with nothing but rocks between the ears) directed them to stop doing the one thing that made this hotel worth the drive. Now, there is absolutely no reason any traveler, even from the North would need to stay here.
