The reception staff, bar staff at Caroline kitching amazing, friendly and very helpful… The staff from cartoon house restaurant. Not very friendly, the host said 1st, they are fully booked for 2 days and when I went to the reception at the hotel. They booked us in for 5 people. When we went in — 8:15pm all the tables where free and available. Their was one member of staff she was from Romania and she was very friendly. Hope this will help :)

Such a wonderful hotel, we had our wedding here in December and I honestly would relive the day over and over. This hotel is absolutely fantastic 😍😍😍

We stayed for one night but could have definitely stayed longer because it was just so nice. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. The food we ate was delicious. Our suite was amazing and extra little touches for a special birthday really made our stay 10/10. Definitely 5 star luxury at its best.

The most beautiful hotel with lovely staff and service!

Booked an afternoon tea for 2 grownups and 2 kids under 5yo and was charged the full price for the kids ‘tea’ — paid over 240 EUR. An absolute disgrace for families with kids. I am cancelling our bookings for Christmas there and hopefully will never be back under current ‘family’ policy.

We booked this hotel back in January for a party of 16. We were all looking forward to it so much. 2 days before we were due to go the hotel cancelled our booking an resold our reservation as they were getting a higher price. Totally disgusted with their actions. We will NEVER book this resort again. 😡

We had a fabulous day in Carton House today for my daughter's confirmation. The food was amazing and the staff went above and beyond from the moment we arrived to make sure the day was extra special and the girl of the moment felt like a real princess. Thank you so much for everything it's a day my daughter won't forget!

Credit where credit is due we had initially had a really bad experience when trying to book my nieces confirmation she is anaphylactic to egg and sesame and was not taken seriously or accommodated at all when she went down to discuss menu long story shorty Gillian from Marketing got in touch after we left details of this issue on a review and was genuinely disgusted by what happened and is now working on a full three course menu which my little niece has never ever been able to have anywhere, thank you very much for making a special girl very happy, you have no idea how much it will mean to her.

My favourite place to be. Stayed here a few months ago and because our room wasn't ready on time, the staff couldn't do enough for us. Highly recommended.

My absolute FAVOURITE hotel in the entire isle of Ireland. Sumptuous, elegant location with exquisite food, excellent customer service at all stages throughout your stay & the rooms/suites in both old & new quarters are top class! Excellence at all levels! Long may we continue to be in a position to stay there & to enjoy Carton House. Thank you to all involved.

Another disappointing visit to what should be an amazing experience. The building and grounds are stunning, the staff are lovely, but a simple email in the kitchen bar area ruins it all. They charge high prices, which would be fine except the food is average at best, over priced very simple pasta, and all other meals barely warm. Huge waits for even a simple coke, drinks orders took an age even to place, longer to arrive and had to be chased for part way through to arrive and then two different orders arrived missing drinks, in fact the first order missed drinks twice. Surely in a hotel of this size and quality, with this many staff wandering around could provide a decent food and beverage service.

Went to afternoon tea at your hotel today. Although the service was very good, it was a lot less than a good experience. There were eight of us and we were put in a room with no athmosphere not one Christmas decoration. The rest of the hotel was lovely. I certainly would not recommend afternoon tea at Carton House Hotel.

Everything has been fabulous! The staff works so hard and even has busy has they were they maintained their professionalism! They were just so nice and friendly! The hotel and grounds were amazing! I will be so sad to leave ;-/ I highly recommend the Carton House ;-)

Lovely treatments in the spa, had my most relaxing facial ever from Emma. The whole place has just a lovely chilled out feeling about it.

This is just me and my brother's favourite place in the world for golf. We have been down every July/August for 5 years now and play The Montgomerie on a Sunday and O'Meara on a Monday. The Montie course is superb and a really tough but fair test of golf. It gives us an idea every year of where our game is at. The scenery on the O'Meara is superb especially along the river holes (14, 15 and 16). The rooms are modern spacious and comfortable. The breakfast and food are top notch and the staff could not be more helpful. We are just back last week and are already planning next year's trip.

Awesome hotel, great staff and management, very friendly and attentive. We are a mixed group golfers and non golfers and they catered for all of us, got spa treatments or just wonderful afternoon tea.
Will be back as soon as we can!

We stayed here for our first wedding anniversary and it was perfect! Chocolate covered strawberries upon arrival to the room, with another box of chocolates too, then at dinner the waitress came over with a glass of champagne for us both! Staff extremely friendly and helpful, food delicious and service excellent! They really looked after us and ensured we had a great time! Will definitely be back, thank you!

Spa treatments amazing. Really lovely friendly staff, and the food is to die for.

Stayed in Carton House for the weekend with my partner we we're happy with our room except as advertised there was no hot tub just a regular bath with faulty tap fixture, difficult to get through to reception and even harder to order room service which wasn't up to par. On a lighter note the afternoon tea was very nice and the lady who served us very knowledgeable and helpful also the spa was very relaxing. I would not stay at hotel again but will at some point visit the spa.

Attended a gathering here in the area outside in the courtyard. Gorgeous area for a BBQ. Heaters and blankets provided. Waiter service for drinks. DJ setup facilitated. Excellent staff, very friendly. Lovely location for any celebration.

My wife and I love this place. This time friends of ours came with us. We arrived early and used the leisure facilities before we sat down to a lovely meal. The portions were a little small for my liking, but I think that with a few more veggies it would be a substantial meal. The waitress that was serving us was lovely and witty. We will be returning for another romantic night away, that's for sure!

Fabulous location, even the drive up through the golf course is spectacular. Great customer service also, from booking something right through to having to reschedule a booking at a half hours notice due to a sick daughter! They were more than happy to help! Spa facilities fantastic also and my wife thoroughly enjoyed her treatment.

Lovely place and amazing surroundings. Rooms really nice and very clean. Spa was excellent as well and the food was top class. Really enjoyed our stay and the staff were great too. Would definitely go back.

Stayed for a night with my daughter and husband for a wedding, omg where do I start… the room in which the ceremony was held was beautiful. Part of the original old house it was just stunning with high ceilings and such detail.
Food I felt was lovely really can’t complain at all, the breakfast was yummy too.
Rooms where also very nice very clean and tidy and I loved how the gave you instructions on how to work different this ie: shower taps, bath taps and air conditioning. Loved that they offered soooooo much to do and see even dvds and DVD players in room on request. Spa I’m afraid I didn’t attend but bet it’s great to!
Gorgeous walks and bike trails to take as well. Love this hotel was blown away and will defo be back!

The aristrocratic Lennox family brought me here to stay. The staff was warm and helpful. The rooms were clean, bright, and spacious. The grounds were stunning to behold. The restaurants within the hotel all offered delicious options. The golf club within the grounds did detract from the stay for me. I am not a golfer and feel like it takes something away from the history of the estate. However, I did enjoy my stay and would recommend this place to others.

Wow factor 10 out of 10. Played the O Meara course and it was in excellent condition. The green keepers have done a marvelous job. Dinner was fantastic and the staff where very nice. Highly recommended. I will be back!

We went for my birthday. The whole place was a bloom and beautiful.
We have 2 children less than 2, they were well accommodated and catered for. Our room was spacious and light and airy. Most of all it was quiet!
As for the meals, starters were excellent and more than one I could have chosen (unusual for me). For main; I love my steak and it was excellent! The
For a nice touch they gave us a complimentary prosecco.
Our youngest was catered for beautifully.
Dinner a bargain at €45 a person. The staff were even better, friendly and accomodating. Do yourself a favour, go for a night with dinner at their linden tree restaurant!

Amazing venue. Beautiful location. They seem to have loads going on all the time and despite there being probably loads of people there it doesn't seem busy. Rooms were clean and nice, pool facilities very nice, front bar was nothing amazing but good food and restaurant was very nice. If I was to pick on anything, it would be the desert options at the restaurant. Our table had each of the options and no-one finished theirs.

What a beautiful setting! The staff here are very helpful and friendly. The surroundings are gorgeous and the old part of the hotel is breathtaking. The gardens are immaculate. Well worth the trip!

Beautiful setting with expansive grounds and easy walking trails. Old house is fabulous with well preserved decor of the era. Modern hotel rooms are clean and comfortable but fairly standard. Linden Tree Restaurant was woeful; basic menu — definitely ' no hats' cooking. Eat in Maynooth, don't waste your money.

This is an amazing place. Come and see it for yourself. So much history… Great rooms, great service. Really nice people working here. The food is a little blend. I think the chefs need to learn how to cook bacon and croutons.

High standard, both for the rooms and the staff. The hotel is located in wonderful surroundings, and the history of the manor house makes the visit worth it in itself. The spa is a nice treat as well, and can be recommended!

This place is absolutely fantastic. The view outside is gorgeous everywhere you look. The event rooms in the the older side are extremely beautiful with gorgeous details and decoration. The room was great, the food was delicious, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. I highly recommend for company events and weddings or simply a short visit with your partner or family.

Excellent place. We were in a suit in the old building (The Lady Hermione). The room was marvelous, decorated in an elegant way with all the modern technology you need. TV, stereo, iron, ironing board, hair dryer and usb sockets too. No minibar or fridge though. The bathroom was spacious with a big sized bath tub and a shower cabin too. The spa was perfect. We had a full body massage booked, which we could have it in the same room as a couple's massage. The staff were very friendly and professional. The waiting area for the spa was gorgeous with fresh juices and fruits available for the guests. Bath robes, towels and slippers were provided with the spa treatment. The leisure part (pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and gym) was less posh as the previously mentioned areas of the hotel, but it was still very nice. The restaurant of the hotel (The Linden Tree) had a nice variety of food (the grilled chicken was amazing) and a wide selection of wines too. The only negative I can mention is that by mistake they tried to charge us 35 euro extras for some drink what we never took at the restaurant. After mentioning it, they apologised and didn't charge that.

Lovely afternoon tea with a friend. Staff were very friendly and pleasant. Lovely surroundings and atmosphere. Tea and goodies were lovely but €10 for a glass if prosecco, a little pricey.

Carton House is nothing short of fantastic. The main house and the bedrooms are simply stunning and luxurious. The main house is steep in history. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. Only one thing I would say is if you want to eat in the main restaurant book well in advance of your stay. We were unable to eat in the main restaurant as it was fully booked and the other bar stops serving food at 9pm, however they were most accommodating and served us dinner after 9. I would recommend a two night stay at least, one day is not to experience everything. Highly recommended Carton House and can't wait to go back.

The rooms where beautiful, but when we visited most of the old house was locked when we went looking around, it was quiet cold too. Our room was not ready until about 5.30 and we where only staying the night. The food in the restaurant was beautiful but no craic or atmosphere in the bar. We had a nice stay but not really sure what all the fuss about it is.

Waiting staff are all very pleasant. Wraps are beautiful and great coffee… very interesting to get warm carrot cake which was gorgeous. Very expensive but worth it. The grounds are amazing. Love coming here for a treat. And it's only 30 minutes from Dublin city centre.

Just home from fantastic overnight stay in this hotel. Lovely relaxed atmosphere, great food, but best of all brilliant staff who can't do enough for you.

Arrived and they did not have our booking confirmed then when we asked about the restaurant they informed us it was booked up and that it usually books up a week in advance something that would have been nice to know before hand, we get to our room and it's filthy dirt on the bed and all request a new one which they provided and asked for robes they offered to send up "right away" waited an hour and a half and had to make three calls just to get them. When they finally arrived they were covered in black stuff, staff at bar never took our order for food until we asked the bar tender, and even then never checked on us after the order was placed and delivered save your money and go somewhere nice, still currently here more shite to follow I'm sure update they wouldn't let us order food at nine when the cutoff was half nine said they would ring us back never received a call ended up ordering a pizza because the service in this hotel was so shocking, reception was fantastic But other than than horrible never would I stay again or recommend someone I care about to stay, you got enemies I have the place carton house. I think most people pay so much they don't want to complain about less than mote six service.

Beautiful lawns all around. The rooms are very well kept and clean.

Had a lovely stay in this hotel. It has a beautiful setting in the extensive estate. The suite was clean and well equipped. The bathroom had a lovely stand alone bath with mood lighting. All the staff were nice and helpful. Will definitely return.

Superb spa. A touch of affordable luxury.

Spa treatment great. Lunch in the hotel very slow we waited an hour for a light lunch. Pity.

Absolutely loved this place, beautiful staff, will return. Loads to do. But would like to know the mystery surrounding the Bailey's.

Really lovely hotel and general experience had by all, but ruined by the the night manger Camal. Storm outside and wouldn't let friends wait in reception for taxis as they weren't staying at the hotel. Wouldn't recommend if looking for friendly and authentic Irish. More just looking for your money.

Amazing hotel, professional and friendly staff and a really relaxed feel. The rooms (including the bathroom) were well furnished. Highly recommend this hotel for either a couples or family break.

Love this wedding venue, the perfect spot for a for a great wedding.

Room was very basic and in need of updating decor wise and TV so old see pic remote didn't work. We had to wait an extra 45 minutes before we got to check in so rather disappointing. The good points were staff were friendly & helpful the food and resturant was excellent.

Very recommended : staff are helpful, delicious breakfast and dinner, best place for relaxing.

Big hotel. Attended for a wedding and many business ocassions. Yet to play the golf courses but I hear they are very good. Great food, friendly staff, comfortable rooms.

It was a fantastic hotel I stayed the Saturday night and it was lovely. It was my second time to stay and everything was perfect.

Over nighted in old house in a beautiful room, huge bed, massive bathroom — bath and shower, lovely furniture. All overlooking golf course. Superb breakfast, huge quality selection. Excellent service from young positive staff.

It's very big, handsome enough, but the atmosphere is particularly cold… You have to walk about 10 minutes between the reception and the rooms on the 2nd floor (this is long…).
I haven't used the golf but the latter seems beautifully maintained.

We played o Meara course! Wide fairways, but not really spectacular.

Nice hotel was disappointed with seeing cobwebs in the windows. Went at 7am to use leisure facilities and no sauna or steam room ready for use. Golf course good. Would not be in a rush back to the hotel.
