We stayed at talbot carlow for 2 night from start to finish service was at a high standard the dome was ideal for the girls the reception ladies where very helpful danielle and michelle the pool was fab the lad at the desk was really helpful with my partner only down fall was the breakfast when arrived at breakfast there was no staff at front of desk as we waited to be seated the continental breakfast was very limited as when the area was low there was nothing filled up and very limited overall lovemy stay a wil be paying another visit.

Once again, an amazing family break. Amazing hotel and super friendly, hard working staff. Cant wait to revist again.

Talbot Hotel, Carlow. Highly recommend this family run Hotel. Suitable for all ages but more importantly for young couples, their children and of course the Grandparents. The staff are so friendly and helpful and go out of their way to advise you of the amenities in the complex plus surrounding area, food to die for etc. You do feel totally relaxed and comfortable thanks to the fabulous staff they have. The staff are next to none and the hotel management should be very proud of them. I would like to individually thank everybody but it would take too long. Once again, Highly recommend the Talbot Hotel, Carlow. The Attwell Clan.

I stayed here for 3 weeks and had an amazing time. The room was fabulous and all the little extras made it that extra special. The food was nice and I found this hotel extremely professional and I will deffinately be returning. The area was perfect, and the staff at reception were more than happy to accomodate me. Staff at the bar were extremely professional and very friendly. I have recommended this hotel to everyone and I can not wait to go back. Special thank you to Eoin and Garry for all the smiles laughters and much more those little things did make our stay that much special guys you are a Super stars keep up the good work 👏👏👏👏👏5 star service.

Stayed as a family for the Dome experience. Room was spacious and clean, staff very friendly especially Jenny who served us for both dinner and Breakfast and went above and beyond with our daughter. The hotel itself is lovely and would recommend to others.

Clean hotel, friendly staff, good food and facilities… The need to book the swimming pool and meals should be redundant since all Covid restrictions have been lifted there is a need for specific family changing areas for the pool, men in 70's & 80's with no clothes on wandering around the changing area is vile while young boy's and girls are with their parents, there's something perverted that would make a man do that in the presence of anybody let alone children.

Kids club was a disaster. My 10 year old had a fall in the dome were he got stuck and his breathing was restricted. 3 staff on not 1 batted an eyelid only for I was there with my younger child and heard him calling saying he couldn't breath god knows what would have happened🤨

Was there 3 weeks ago and have to say staff was so friendly… especially Mandy and Sam we will definitely be back.

I visited here with my 3 young children this week after finding a deal online that was aimed at children. And the only good thing about this place is the restaurant on the 4th floor and the dome (which isn't even managed by the hotel). You can access both without staying here. The hotel place is like faulty towers and the rooms are falsely advertised (all rooms are the same, so if booking just book a double room). A slate of wood that was hiding a boiler was off the wall and fell on two children during my stay. And you have to ask for the kids to watch a movie in your own room and the tvs are basic with a handful of channels so I couldn't even link my phone for a movie without asking Reception to do put on a dvd. (they repeat the same did for days) there is no kids pool, a few good staff there, shame about the others that let the team down. No managers wanted to listen to me or plenty of other visitors during the stay. I did get frustrated and annoyed at check out at the lack of understanding and fairness that was presented by the manager. I wouldn't recommend.

Stayed 4 one night thank god it was only that. Food was awful breakfast buffet a major disappointment and the Staff was extremely rude including the dome staff who had no patience 4 kids or their parents. Defo wud not rush back and wouldn't class it as family friendly.

Just back from a group stay of 20 people, everything was booked in advance by Suzie in which everything ran smoothly, lovely clean rooms, bar food was delicious, nice friendly helpful staff all round, kid and family friendly hotel and the vouchers for the dome right next door were great to keep the kids entertained, we will all definitely be back 😁

Just back from our stay cation. Rooms very spacious and spotless. Food delicious. Great staff friendly helpful pleasant. Hand sanitizer everywhere. Great social distancing.

Lots of positives, the staff were lovely and very helpful. The place is spotless and all staff adhering to the covid guidelines. The food in the liberty tree was nice but not spectacular, the menu was quite small and I don’t mind a small menu if the food was perfect but it was just nice. The waiters and waitresses were great though!
The service on Saturday mornings breakfast was very slow and people were literally raising their hands to get toast and coffee but it was great on Sunday, we asked for extra coffee and toast on the sunday as on Saturday we got a small pot of coffee and three slices of toast between us.
All in all I would go back and I would recommend the hotel as the overall experience was very good and the staff and the hotel were lovely.

Just back from a stay enjoyed it rooms spotless clean, food delicious staff lovly hand sanitising stations at lifts, great for the kids we be back.

We had a fantastic time. The hotel is spotless. Beautiful big spacious room. Food in the bar was delicious, jake was a great waiter. We will return with the kids as we heard great reports about the dome and the swimming pool.

Just had a lovely over night stay the hotel was great and the staff were very friendly and the food was very good Patrick in the bar was very friendly and helpful our room was very spacious and had everything we needed as I am a disabled person so I would highly recommend this hotel for disabled travellers my wife and I really enjoyed our stay.

We had a great night away with 3 children. It’s a fab hotel, great size rooms. There was no problem putting a cot and an extra bed in our room for our youngest and my niece. The food in the restaurant down stairs was fab couldn’t fault it. The children enjoyed their time over at the dome playing on the slides and in the play area and then in the evening doing bowling. Great facilities for all the family. Would highly recommend a stay here and we will definitely be back.

Had a lovely night last night, the Rathwood offer was worth every penny, food was real good lovley hotel.

Fab hotel rooms gorgeous however service in the bar was awful and some of the food was really not good either.

The bar staff and restaurant staff are brilliant, especially Paddy O'Reilly he was so kind to my mother in law last night for her birthday celebrations.

We always have a wonderful time at this hotel staff are amazing they will always get an a1 in there report card the food is so yummy.

Stayed one night with my son. Hotel was a bit grubby, carpet in the room very stained and not hoovered well. Staff were very nice. Very busy, it's a family hotel, but breakfast room was uncomfortably packed.
overall a reasonable stay, very noisey and not relaxing if that's what you're after. I don't feeI I got value for money as it's quite expensive. Pool area is nice, but again, very busy. Am sure it'd be a nice stay for a family.

Brilliant hotel have fantastic ni staff so friendly especially Stephen was so kind to my 5year son. Can't wait for our wedding here.

Great Easter Deal nd our family had an absolute fab few days here, the staff were all very friendly and helpful, this is a great hotel especially with Children, food was also fab it was great to be able to have a few hours alone with my hubby while the children enjoyed the Kids club and films,, The Dome is a great place from Bowling to the Congo quest, plenty to do, all was spotless including an early morning swim … one girl tht stood out to us was Jenny in the bar always checking to make sure we were fine for everything, and also Sam in the bar very pleasant young man…

Such A Lovely Place To Stay In, Great Atmosphere. The Staff Are So Nice & Attentive.

I stayed for 3 nights in the hotel and had a brilliant time. It was my first time in Carlow & I really liked it. I can't express enough how nice and accommodating the staff are. I don't eat meat or cheese so there wasn't any choice for me on the main for dinner but they offered me delicious alternatives every night. There's great vacilaties in the hotel and I loved the jacuzzi & pool. There's also the Dome right across from the hotel were I enjoyed the slot machines that has arcade games, bowling etc. I can't wait to return.

Didn't enjoy my 8 days here, spew in hallway took 3 days to clean, the room felt dirty, and the sink stunk of sewage when you brushed teeth. I would rather stay in a doggy bag. On the plus side the food was awesome and the staff in restaurant were lovely. Shame about the rest, room to improve.

If I could give this hotel 10 stars I would. Stayed as part of a coaching holiday. From the moment I stepped into reception I was impressed. Room keys were quickly and efficiently handed out. Even the lifts were modern. Our bedroom was amazing — spotlessly clean, big and spacious (most hotel rooms are cramped in comparison) and the television was much bigger than the usual postage stamp size — another bonus. We had 2 minor problems that only needed a screwdriver to fix and both were dealt with within minutes. Onto the restaurant — on the top floor so some beautiful scenery. Waiting staff were so helpful and really cared about their guests. Good selection of starters, mains and desserts. Although there was no vegetarian option on our menu it did not prove to be a problem for them when my friend said she was vegetarian — she was given a different meal every night. Helpful and attentive staff who went out of their way to ensure you enjoyed your stay. Fabulous.

Staff friendly but very slow on service when coming back to take order. Room very spacious and clean but TV did not work. Breakfast was good. Evening Bar food menu very good but menu in the restaurant could do with lot more choice for evening meals. Hotel very easy to find and the town center is only a few minutes drive. All in all not a bad hotel to stay in.

The Talbot Hotel is a very pristine and unique looking hotel, and is a joy to stay in. From the initial entrance we were impressed by it's slick appearance, then upon reaching the reception desk we were greeted by a very friendly and accommodating employee who handled our reservation quickly and professionally. When we arrived to our room, it was a very spacious and comfy space with all the amenities a person would reasonably like to have in their room. The beds were very comfortable, mattresses were soft and warm. Only negative would be that the TV didn't have a great selection of channels. Overall however the Talbot is certainly worth the cost of a visit. And further beyond our experience there is also a gym and other facilities that we did not avail of, but are open to guests.

We had our wedding at the Talbot Carlow 14th July 2018. I could not fault Management and staff, they were excellent. I could not have asked for more, the room was stunning, the food was absolutely amazing, just superb!
I would highly recommend the Talbot.

Slight problem with TV and card key but both sorted out quickly. It would be nice if breakfast ran for longer at the weekend as myself and other residents were turned away from the dining room. Other than that it was a comfortable stay.

Good hotel at the outskirts of Carlow town. Good place for a drink with friends, food was good, staff friendly and efficient. 4 stars rating because of car parking in front of the hotel… a bit too small and busy. (I don't know if Talbot hotel has another car park or not) Did not use rooms as I was at celebration there in evening/night hours.

Food was nice. Nice rooms. Location isn't great. People are lovely. Kids club is good.

The room was big and stylish. However, my room was placed over the function hall so it was extremely loud and my boyfriend and I had an allergic reaction to the sheets and were covere in itchy hives. I would recommend to others because the room was nice, just make sure that you’re not close to the function room and you don’t have sensitive skin.

I would give this place a zero if I could. I have seldom in my life been treated as rudely as I was here. We arrived for our reservation, waited while two staff waited on other people, then one staff person waited on a woman who arrived after us while the other pretended to be reading papers. We waited for the other staff to help the woman who arrived after us, which took quite some time… We left.

The team at the Talbot were exceptional in organising and catering for our large group of 200+ for a sports awards night. The food was excellent and the night ran so smoothly thanks to all of their hard work and planning. Stayed overnight in spacious comfortable room. Highly recommended.

Attended a wedding here recently, have to say the location, staff and food are second to none. Excellent day out. Well worth a stay there, rooms were big and spotless.

Lovely hotel friendly staff and great having the Dome next door for the kids to entertain. Kids club also seemed to be great. Its close to Carlow centre few mins drive. On a recent the only negative was waiting long time for food in bar area. Also pool not suitable for small children it has no kids pool. A kids pool for me would make this hotel an excellent one.

Excellent place to stay staff were very helpful and courteous and the food was gorgeous. Would recommend to friends.

We were given a room that was already occupied and when we went in there were bags and the bed was a mess. If the couple were in it would have been very embarrassing. We had to come back down to Shiv and get another room. The room and food were lovely after all that.

Hotel disappointing 1. Expensive 2. No toilet facilities on floor 3 3. Stairs to escape fire on floor 3 not clearly signed 4. Breakfast layout for toast is crazy 5. Tea And coffee service very poor at breakfast 6. Request for Hop beer refused because tap empty. Needs to improve a lot to give value for money.

Despite being a little far out of town, it is a beautiful building with a large banquet hall and good food. The bar is reasonably priced too.

Confusing entrance — surrounded by car park with little indication of the proper entrance. The foyer is nice. Ate a chicken and salad sandwich — the main ingredients were bread and mayonnaise followed by salad and, in last place, a flavouring of chicken — a poor effort.

Had my daughter confermation lunch booked in Talbot Hotel. Never ever had feel so welcomed and greated anywhere else. The food was fabulous, portion sizes huge, service amaizing and little attention to the detail. Even three course menu designed with my daughter name on it with welcome message on it for each guest. Thank you Talbot hotel for bowling voucher gift in Dome. Everybody had such a wonderful and unforgettable dayI would highly recommend this experience to anybody.

Nice hotel, good size parking and easy access. Staff were professional and courteous. Food served was very good and they delivered to the room where we had a meeting. Layout of the hotel was a little weird and not the easiest to get around.

Nice clean hotel, excellent friendly service. A nice bar serving good food and located 20 minute walk from town centre. I was given family room which was perfect good size for buggy and young child.

Fantastic staff. Nice comfy clean spacious rooms. I dropped a star cos my sleep was interrupted constantly with the noise coming from the ceiling. Didn't hear it last year in a different room when I stayed on 3rd floor. Was in 214 this year 2nd floor.

As a pig farmer on the Irish Farmers Association National Pig Committee this was the only hotel I have ever come across who had such an issue with the fact I said I was taking a sample of the bacon from the carvery menu to DNA test to see if the hotel was supporting Irish farmers. I received a phone call from a very angry Debbie Mangan who is the Group Revenue Manager for the Talbot Hotel Group — his attitude was shocking. Needless to say a month since this incident taking place, the results are now available from the IFA headquarters, and the results show that the hotel was indeed serving up imported bacon on their carvery menu. Extremely disappointing for a hotel chain.

What a fabulous hotel! The food is excellent and the rooms are big. There is a sauna, gym & swimming pool which is free to use. Very clean and friendly.

Kids enjoyed staying here only downside when it's warm you can't stay in the room as there is not much ventilation as the windows only open a bit so couldn't sleep in the night… It was our second time visiting this hotel.

Just back after spending a lovely night with my 11 year old daughter. Michael and the wonderful staff couldn’t be nicer. They even managed to have our room ready for an early check in, so nice after a four hour drive. The food in the bar and the breakfast was simply superb. Would highly recommend this beautiful hotel.

We had our wedding at the Talbot on August 17th this year. Choosing this hotel was the best decision we could have made. Everything was absolutely perfect and the staff could not be faulted. Niamh and Michael were more helpful than we could have imagined. I would recommend the Talbot to anyone getting married. You won't be disappointed.

On th it s occasion we ate in the bar. Food was excellent and service was very efficient. I've stayed here a number of times and have never been disappointed with the standard of the room or more important, the breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel if you looking for a place to stay in the Carlow area.

Nice place to spend few days with your family. The hotel looks like for 3* plus. The rooms are clean, very comfortable beds, swimming pool is lovely for kids, the staff is very kind and nice but they look so short, specially in the restaurant. The owner of the hotel should look around to see how hard they work to manage during breakfast time to make everybody happy. They are late but won't forget which I wasn't able to complain. I will definitly go back! PS I really enjoy the evening break when my kids went to kids club. Thank you all!

Comfy quite rooms. Nice pool. Lovely staff. Amazing for kids with a kids club which shows a movie every night in a conference room. There's a kids jungle gym next door split in 2. One for under 5 one for over 5 they also do bowling and have arcade games. The ivy rooms snooker Hall across the road and indoor go kart racing around the corner. No matter what the age the kids are sorted. Highly recommend. Lost a star due to a bad experience in the bar with food the first night but we arrived late. Made up for it on the second night.

Just celebrated our wedding there and couldn't recommend the place highly enough. Had complete confidence in Niamh and everyone from early in the planning and they did not disappoint. Room and meal were fantastic, there were so many little touches to our day to even begin to mention, and the honeymoon suite is gorgeous. All the staff in the hotel are so friendly and helpful, and make it a wonderful place to spend a weekend. Compliments from everyone.

Generic hotel with bar, restaurant and pool. Friendly staff, plenty of car parking and not to far from Carlow town.

I must say we went to aisling and Mary wedding on the 16-7-15 and what a fantastic day and night. The staff and food was fantastic even came around with seconds witch is a first. The bedrooms was grand good and big and breakfast was fantastic did the job it would set you up for the day. Also we had eaten in the bar the night before the wedding and it was lovely and good value.

Stayed two nights in the Tolbot Hotel Carlow. At first we had a great welcome by Theresa, Theresa really looked after us very helpful, professional and so friendly. There was myself my wife and my three kids. The hotel has a great kids club and a big playcentre right beside the hotel. The hotel has a lovely pool and gym and again the staff in them areas were great. Robyn was great, she worked in the bar/food and would again do anything for you. Had the pleasure of meeting a guy Conor again very professional and friendly. Looking forward to our next trip to the Talbot Hotel Carlow. See you guys soon. Paul Hollywood.

I stayed at this hotel with majestic coach tours. The rooms were clean and well kept but the shower in the bathroom was poor the shower head needed attention. Clean towels were provided each day they were small but clean. The public area were clean and the staff very hard working. The meals were good but did arrive in an erratic way due to the number of people being served. The gym and pool were average in line with council run facilities but the staff were polite. The Jacuzzi needs some attention to be given to the drainage area around it. My stay was comfortable and the beds very comfortable very good hotel for a short stay.
