Having a lovely relaxing time here, staff are so friendly and helpful, had a meal this evening, was so fantastic, room warm clean and comfy, still here, x.

We had a fabulous weekend in the Westendra. The food was delicious, the staff were friendly and efficient. There was constant sanitising by staff and hand sanitiser on every table but staff still made u feel at ease. I’d highly recommend the Westendra Hotel.

We went here last night for food and it was amazing. I got the Southern fried chicken sandwich and it was devine cannot wait to get back for another one I also got the kinder cheesecake which was so tasty and not sickening at all, infact I could have ate another one.

Had a beautiful meal here on Friday evening, food was delicious. Had steak cooked to perfection but can't wait to go back to try the beetroot & feta burgers Special mention to the barman and night porter who went above and beyond top class customer service.

We recently got married in the Westenra and received an excellent service. The food was top class and there is not 1 thing we could fault. We highly recommend Ciaran Teague and his team at the Westenra Hotel Monaghan.

Lots of staff, hence we, our small group, were well taken care of, a very comprehensive menu, food was delicious, drinks waiters on hand, what's not to like about the Westenra, they do a cracking carvery, if your passing through, on route to Clones or Breffini!

Beautiful hotel fabulous food would certainly be back.

Great atmosphere lovely setting and friendly helpful staff and good food very very tasty and enjoyed it so much and the pint of Guinness was great.

Lovely hotel and the staff and management were so accommodating to the Runners after Monaghan 10 miler yesterday. Thank you all so much I highly recommend this hotel the rooms are beautiful and whole hotel is soo beautiful. We had a lovely time after the run in the front bar. Thank you best hotel EVER!

We were out for a family me, last night… the food was amazing, everything was done to perfection, the waitress and Ciaran couldn't do enough for us. Thanks also to Rosie on reception for all her help. And a massive thank you for making our evening so special — с Mickey Dee.

Have spent many many weekends in this fantastic hotel, staff are so friendly frank, Margaret, frank, Katrina on reception and all the other reception staff are so friendly and helpful, and not forgetting Ronan behind the bar what a barman, I will not stay anywhere else, food is excellent every time I’ve eaten here, keep up the good work.

Stayed here last night there was a party of 12 had such a great night food was excellent staff was so friendly would definitely recommend it.

Carvery available and it was lovely. Veg under done but pavlova was gorgeous! Staff friendly and helpful. Will visit again.

Just spent a lovely weekend here to celebrate Rachel and Patrick's wedding, brilliant hotel can't praise the staff highly enough, excellent food and a great time had by all.

Loved our stay here for my brother in laws wedding stayed for three nights over the weekend we go home in the morning and going to miss this place

Wonderful old time hotel in the centre of Monaghan. Big spacious room with tall, regency windows looking out onto the main square. Bed was extremely comfortable and made for a great night's sleep. Large bathroom, clean and tidy but could have done with a separate shower. The lunch in the bar was recommended and didn't disappoint. I had the bowl of soup (generous size) and a half sandwich which came with a side salad and a cup of tea for under €9. Could probably benefit from a key card system for the bedrooms rather than the bulky key and fob but that's a minor issue. Highly recommended.

Fantastic looking hotel, great location. 2 rooms were booked for us to attend my father's funeral in Ardee, our room faced the front of the hotel, which despite being luxurious suffered from a lack of numerous TV channels and excessive noise all night from drunken youths outside the hotel till 5am on a Sunday morning. My Wife's debit card was also wrongly charged for my brother's room without her authority. American Express is also not a payment option at this highly rated hotel.

Smart hotel in Monaghan town. Was there for a work function and it was great. Steak sandwich was tasty. Lively bar area. Stayed in it about a year ago and it was ok but nothing special.

Love this place, great food and atmosphere pretty much all the time. Very busy at weekends, bar food is amazing.

Went here for breakfast with a few friends. The staff where very accommodating but service was quite slow. Our food was just average & served on huge plates! The Hotel itself was lovely & warm & had a cosy atmosphere. It's also very child friendly.

The manageress/waitresses/barman very pleasant and courteous, the meal very good, we declined desert but ordered coffees which never arrived instead the bill did which I found unusual, generally you went to the desk and paid before leaving, didn't matter re coffees they weren't charged for.

Food was fantastic, service was okay. We went for a staff lunch for Christmas. One of the girls ordered soup. It was very slow to come out. We were all eating our food and was nearly finished when she got her soup. She ordered desert as well but never received it. They obviously forgot about it. But I will give it four stars because I have been here a few times and they have always been very good for service.

A lovely historic building in the centre of Monaghan town. Bar is beautifully decorated whilst being true to the buildings heritage. Bar food is excellent and the staff couldn't be more helpful and efficient. They're a credit to their employer. Carvery is very good and the beef deserves a special mention. Rooms are dated but still warm, clean and the bed comfortable. There is a popular nightclub at the hotel so when booking you would need to take be aware that it can be noisey on certain nights. Wheelchair accessible parking at the hotels car park but unfortunately I did not see a wheelchair accessible entrance so you would need to enquire directly. All in all a lovely hotel with good food and ambiance and the staff just make it that bit more special.

Well, where do I start? On Tuesday last I arrived at the "Westenra Arms" for an overnight stay along with another 4 people. As soon as we entered into the foyer we were met with a huge welcome. Not only that but because we had special transport the receptionist and one of her lovely staff team member ensured that our transport was kept in an accessible area in case it was needed quickly for any emergency. As we had a lot of luggage they insisted that a lovely young gentlman take our bags up to our rooms, (2 rooms). He talked us through what was available and where everything was but that if we needed anything, that nothing was any bother just ring reception and ask. This was all within 10 minutes of arrival. We went for our lunch and as we had 2 wheelchairs they moved chairs and tables to accomodate us, even though they already had a large crowd in for lunch. The lunch was fab. We booked a table for an evening meal and again because of our needs, our table was very accessible. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the comfort and service that was afforded to us. The spacious rooms were very comfortable and all slept well. The staff also had a table set up for us for morning for our breakfast, again to accomodate our wheelchair users. The staff were on hand throughout, chatting, serving and clearing away. We had many more issues that these wonderful staff helped with and they all need to be acknowledged for their professional, friendly and extra efficient service to us.

Was there tonight — extremely busy — one hour wait for food but having eaten here lots of times knew it was worth waiting for — not disappointed well done to chef beautiful meal under pressure worth the wait.

Staff were lovely, nice lobby, however toilets were dirty and the bar was cold.

Always good for lunches at carvery or in bar and for evening meals. Mainly traditional fare on the menu and generous portions.

As a visitor to Monaghan from the Northeast of England I've always found the Westenra a great place to visit for a pint and food, the staff are very friendly and helpful.
The food is outstanding and the Sunday lunches are very tasty,, always a pleasure.

Had a great meal and overnight stay at this place. Food was top rate and with generous portions. Good pint to be had at the bar. The bedroom was spacious and very clean. But the biggest asset to this place is the staff, who were helpful and pleasant each and every one of them. Other establishments would learn a lot from here. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Had our daughters christening on Sunday & we where so disappointed the service was shocking! The food was cold & the there was no organisation to the event at all! Trying to order a drink was painful ended up having to go down to the bar to get one! We asked one of the waitresses can we order more drinks & she said no! She was extremely rude at times!
One of our guests asked for a late & we where told that the machine was broken!
Very strange as we could order one down stairs & no sign of a broken machine! I would never book an event here again!
It's funny I emailed a complaint & not one person got back to me!
When I was booking everything they emailed me back within 24hrs! When you pay they don't seem to care!

Nice welcoming Hotel. Love the decore. Nicely situated in the centre of town with car parking space. Bar was pleasant.

Rooms are dated but clean. Great location. Staff very friendly.

Meal tonight was very disappointing. The monk fish was terrible and the dressing with it was particularly awfully. I enjoy the food here usually. I did mention it but no remarks were passed on it.

Just dropped into this place on the way home. Steak and chips beautifully presented and perfectly done. Myself and my father left very happy and the place has a very nice atmosphere and the live music was very good too. I can see why my dad stays when passing through monaghan.
