We absolutely loved our stay at St Kyrans Country House. We got a warm welcome, and a room with a fabulous view (second to none! )
The host made every possible effort to make this stay unforgettable.

We had a wonderful stay in this very welcoming intimate country house in its idyllic lakeside setting. The rooms were spacious and spotlessily clean. The beds were comfortable. And the cooked to order breakfast was delicious. The warmth and friendliness of Helena Patrick and their staff was the icing on the cake. We will definitely make a return visit.

Nothing compares to the breathtaking beauty of the view. This is not going out for a meal, st Kyran’s is an experience. The staff were friendly and polished servers, the food was out of this world. As a treat to a wonderful father visiting from South Africa it was the epitome of his Irish adventure. A huge thanks to the staff for exceptional outstanding everything. Couldn’t recommend it more highly.

Just had the most amazing meal in st kyrans, I had the prawns for starter and my husband had the potato skins! Oh my then came the mains! Filet steak for me, with Red wine dew! Delicious my husband had the sirloin and pepper corn sauce chips to die for! Well worth the visit, lovely enjoyable drink and atmosphere with the extensive gin wine and drink selection! Visit visit visit!

Fell upon this wee gem on a weekend away! What a venue this place has it all so warm and inviting with stunning views, exceptional food and staff better than anything I’ve ever encountered before! We will be back x.

Excellent in every aspect: beautifully appointed bedroom and shower; location convenient to many sites in Ireland's Ancient East; delicious breakfast cooked to order. Only an hour from Dublin Airport, yet feels miles away from the hustle and bustle. Delightful hosts!

We stayed in St Kyrans on Saturday the 4th of August, beautiful hotel views spectacular, food excellent but most importantly the staff, they were the friendliest most helpful I have ever come across, top marks to this beautiful gem with the jolliest staff ever. We will be back.

Stayed here last night with my hubby and just loved it! The staff were lovely (especially Grace), the beautiful meal, beautiful room, peaceful, beautiful view over the lough — I can’t rate this place highly enough. Not surprised this little gem has won best restaurant in Ulster! A friend had recommended this place — thankyou — I would definitely stay again — thankyou Helena.

Disappointing Sunday lunch. Normally better fare.

This place is just wonderful we arrived and where brought to our beautiful room with a view of the lough, the heating was on and it was lovely and so comfortable in the room. We just sat back in the 2 comfy chairs and watched the birds flying all over the lough it was so peaceful and relaxing totally chilled out. We were staying in the hotel to have meal that night in there exceptional restaurant that we have eaten in before. Tonight the restaurant was doing a taster menu so was the meat version and the other was vegetarian menu. The food was served up by a lovely group of girls and they couldn’t have been more attentive and with each course they explained what it was we were eating. It took over 2 & 1/2 hours to eat our meals and we had a small break between courses which was great so we weren’t rushed and able to just enjoy each course we had a lovely bottle of wine to go with our food. After dinner we got few drinks and went back to our room. We just kicked off the shoes and sat and relaxed the room was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. After a good nights sleep we got up and got ready for breakfast, I also must say it’s very suitable for disabled users as we both and it’s a great big bedroom and shower room. We went down for breakfast and had a choice of cereals, oats, fruit juice and yogurts and they took our order for cooked breakfast. It was just fabulous.

From the moment we arrived, to the moment we departed. Superb throughout. The location is wonderful, just outside Virginia, and overlooking a lovely lake. The rooms are magnificent, we had room 7 overlooking the lake, it was huge, with perfect "blackout" curtains, made for a great nights sleep.
The food is sensational, breakfast is a total winner, with porridge that came with a surprise "a glass of baileys & whiskey" luxury. Lunch was a sensation, the tasting menu at dinner was a triumph.
The staff are a credit to the place. Great service throughout, nothing was ever too much trouble. We were all made to feel like it was our home for the weekend.
Thank you to everyone involved with St Kyrans. You made a family in search of its family tree, a very happy bunch. Hope to re visit one day!
