Harbour House Budget Accommodation Bed and Breakfast

Decent accommodation for the price. Maybe not the place to go for a romantic weekend but the bed was comfortable and the price was right.
All these 1 star reviews are ridiculous. This is a nice place.

Nice staff however … Rooms look different from photos online, showers aren’t amazing, ‘breakfast’ is just cereal, place smells like stray cats, overpriced for what it can offer even at a ‘budget rate’.

The place is so lovely with great service.

This wasn't the worst place I stayed at during a three week trip in the UK and Ireland, but it was towards the bottom of the list. Somewhat expensive for what it was (private room with a shared bathroom), no hot water in the shower, super hot room with a broken control on the heater, little or no maintenance apparent in the room or building, extra charge on to use the credit card instead of cash, wireless did not reach upstairs at all, not super clean. Breakfast consisted of items stocked in a kitchen — again, not the worst, but for the cost, compared to other similiar venues in west Ireland that offered a private room with breakfast, not somewhere I would go back to. Sligo seemed to have oddly expensive lodging in general — consider staying somewhere nearby instead of in town?

Poor value for €50. Cold shower was my lot for early start. Avoided continental breakfadt for better value in Lyons in town. Try elsewhere in Sligo is my advice.

Girl that check me in was nice but overall this place could improve a lot in terms of facilities, security and level of cleaness. Location isn't the greatest since a little bit of a walk from town but the free car park can be very handly.

Very basic and cheaper than a bed and breakfast, if you are looking to have breakfast there's a great place just 50 meters down the road.

Smelly, musty, dusty, grubby and dark. Everything here, from walls to carpets to beds and curtains and tiny bedside locker (as that is all that was in the room), seemed old, overused and worn out. Choose somewhere else… somewhere someone has made a little that deserves your custom.

Very basic, musty moldy smell everywhere. Bad Wi-Fi, very basic breakfast. Ok location.

No shower and toillets in room so it is more like a hostel. The room is a bit smelly and the location is in the industry zone. Was the only "B2B" were the amount was alredy booked on the credit card. The service was friendly (one star for them).

Its clear to see from other reviews that guests at this establishment are treated like bold children and school pupils. My experience was unfortunately not sparred by this. I have a severe allergy to cat hair. Never once in all my years spent travelling across Ireland have I encountered a commercial property such as a hostel, B&B or hotel having pet cats on the premises. With this in mind, I made a regrettable booking with Harbour House Budget Accommodation. After doing so, I inspected the reviews more thoroughly. Besides the general horrors that awaited me in the accommodation's many, many negative reviews; I was astounded to read that the owners had pet cats on the premises. As contact with cat hair would cause serious problems to my health — my obvious reaction was to cancel the booking immediately. The fact that cats are present in this accommodation was not stated on the hostels own website or on the third party website I booked through. It was not stated by the accommodation owners anywhere for that matter. If this information was present at the time of booking, I would not have made the booking. Obviously. Given the circumstances, I imaged my situation to be met in an understanding manner – how wrong I was. You see, the booking was non-refundable. This was a non issue as we had every intention of staying there. That was until I learned by doing so, I would be putting my health at risk. I called Vincent, the owner to explain my situation.

The staff were very welcoming, they even baked muffins :) comfy, clean rooms, good price and location.

Super Cozy house with reasonable value for money. The staff were very helpful. Until it was a little fresh, everything was top.

Really nice cozy place. Well kept, clean and comfortable. Not terribly far frm sligo's main attractions. The Wi-Fi is terrible and the reception is not that good either. Have to be in the lobby to use Wi-Fi. The guides and staff are extremely helpful and friendly and really know their stuff in the area.

Unfortunately it is in an industrial area of little charm. The room was small but clean enough, also bathroom and linens were OK for the standards I saw in Ireland. A proprietor and very accommodating and helpful but remains a hostel more than 15min walk from the center, more than a spare solution.

It is a pity to say, but did not sleep due to the noise. The place does not feel safe very much either.

Quiet location worth adequate sized rooms and generous kitchen and dining area. Nice sitting area.
