Pele's Place Peles Place

Rented a room for 230k for a night. The compound is a little far and uphill from the iboih area so not so convenient if you are not riding/driving. Room is alright but shower/bath area is semi open so insect can come in from there. Many cockroaches were at the shower area in my room. Can snorkel just at the restaurant area and that area is good, live coral and many fishes.

We can here for lunch and had Gado-Gado and the Mamamia pizza. Not only were they both delicious, the pizza was outstanding. I was very impressed.

Book the sea view bungalow for the most incredible view of the reef from the hammock on your balcony! The restaurant has easily the best food in Pulau Weh and you can snorkel from the steps of the restaurant. All of the staff are just beautiful and helpful with scooter hire, boat bookings, snorkel and kayak hire and were passionate about teaching Indonesian phrases and customs. It’s only a short walk (10 mins but steep! ) into town but you could literally not leave Pele’s and have an amazing experience of Pulau Weh!

We had the oceanfront cottage and I didn't want to leave. Everything you need inside — AC, fridge, kettle, mosquito net, hammock, deck, chairs, view, decent Wi-Fi. But it's what's right outside your door that is the amazing part!
Great place for snorkelers — especially ocean beginners, like my mother-in-law. She had a cottage behind my husband's and mine — which also had a great view. We were there three nights and I spent so much time each day snorkeling. Saw things I've never seen before — like new fish and so many colorful boring clams! One not-so-good thing: crown-of-thorns starfish. We saw at least a dozen, and we think local divers in the area are trying to kill them. I don't want any creature killed, but these guys are bad for the coral. Snorkel at high tide to avoid them, but if you do go at low tide, watch out for their prickers. Nasty stuff, I hear. So much of Earth's oceans are struggling between reefs, coral chunks, fish, etc. Go see this place before it's too late and we humans screw it all to hell.
The staff were amazing. Annie and Boy really went out of their way to make us comfortable, and it was extremely appreciated by us since our visit was the holy month of Ramadan.
You cannot go wrong with this place — especially the seafront where you can sleep with your porch doors open to the sounds of the tide hitting the rocks and then receding again.

This place is an absolute gem! The owner is incredibly kind, and the staff is always ready to help, making the stay feel warm and welcoming. The kitchen stays open late, so you never have to worry about finding a meal after a long day of exploring. The rooms are spotless, and the seaview from the restaurant is simply breathtaking.
For an even more special experience, you can stay in one of their seaview bungalows, waking up to the sound of the waves. And if you love the ocean, the snorkeling right in front of the property is amazing—crystal-clear waters, vibrant marine life, and an unforgettable underwater world.

We had an excellent stay at Pele’s. The staff were all incredibly friendly and welcoming. The bungalow was well equipped and comfortable. The views from the restaurant and our room were beautiful and the snorkelling off the shore was the best we experienced during our stay on the island.

I truly appreciate the establishment and consider it a concealed treasure. I highly recommend visiting during the off-season.

Location is a bit remote but don't let that put you off. The people are very friendly and the food is tasty/fresh. Also the bungalows with sea view seem worth it to me. I advised them to upgrade their photos of these on Booking. Com; see photos of travelers for a correct impression.

I spent a week here and it was the best stay of my months trip around Indonesia. Peles place is an amazing spot to stay with bungalows and a great restaurant secluded in the jungle with ocean access. You can go swimming any time of day just waking out of you bungalow. The water is very clean and clear. There is snorkeling and scuba diving very near and the staff is all so friendly and will be happy to help you with anything. You can also rent a motorbike here for a good price and they have a driver to take you to and from the port. There is a masjid in the town that is a short drive away. The restaurant has a great variety of international and Indonesian foods, I tried many different things in the menu and I was never disappointed. This place really feels like home and I’ll be happy to stay again when I come back to weh island. If I could give more stars I would!

The place is comfortable and cool. Lots of shady trees. The place is also suitable for people who like silence to rest. The bedroom is beautiful, comfortable, has hot water, there is a terrace directly facing the sea. Very beautiful. There is also a restaurant here that serves seafood. You can snorkel, see dolphins and fish. The receptionist was friendly, very helpful in explaining well. Really recommended for those who want to holiday in a comfortable place.

The room and kitchen area are lovely, as is the host and location.
What is horrendous is the building work happening right next door. The jungle has been torn down and the construction is going on from 8am to midnight some of the nights we were there. It was ridiculous and annoying that we weren't warned even after being in contact with the host after booking.
I'd recommend this place, but give it 6 months till the construction is done. Also it's listed as a pizza house but they don't do pizza anymore.

We had beach front wooden bungalows with balconies straight out over the water. The view was stunning. The room was well equipped with a/c, fridge and kettle. The bathroom was basic but there was a hot shower so met our needs. It is a little out of the way but the whole island is. You really need to hire a moped but it’s very cheap. Lovely kind staff too. Overall highly recommend.

We were so lucky to have found Peles place! It’s a little bit of a walk from the town centre but it’s so peaceful compared to the other accomodation in the area. Directly in front of the villas is some incredible snorkelling (and we’re from Western Australia so we’re hard to impress when it comes to dive spots). We saw turtles, lion fish, a small reef shark and so many species of fish — it’s like the cast of Finding Nemo down there! The villa itself was sparkling clean, had air conditioning, nice lighting, a small bar fridge and even hot showers! The restaurant was closed at the time we were there (however many restaurants in Iboih have been affected by COVID and are closed or open intermittently) however the lovely owners were happy to whip us up some amazing banana pancakes and a delicious Nasi Goreng. Could not recommend the place more highly and would definitely stay there again!

This Bungalow Place is just a little outside of the Iboih village, 5min walk, and you have an amazing view from the new restaurant terrace! The food has an amazing price quality relation and the people managing the place, especially Ivo, are very welcoming and helpful! They organised a snorkling tour for us and you also can rent scooters! They have two bungalows directly at the seafront: beautiful! Experienced snorklers can go to the water down at the little sea entrance!

We highly recommend Peles Place, really quiet and brilliant staff who can't do enough for you to make your stay enjoyable and chilled.
Foods OK, pizzas are great. The menu is all western food which is a shame, but there's plenty of other places within 10 mins walk for local food. They did lay on a indonesian buffet one night which was excellent and had a bit of spice, which we have found rare on Weh. The apple juice is cold and reasonably priced.
Room was great, very spacious and great views.
No sandy beach at peles but ibioh beach (long beach) is 10 mins on a scooter. And worth a visit.
We had to leave as already booked 3 nights at Freddies, as soon as we arrived we regretted our decision.
Dont consider staying anywhere elses, stay here you won't regret it.

My family and I decided to book Pele's Place because we were told that Iboih is less busy and crowded than Sabang on Pulau Weh, at first we were hesitant because there weren't much information of the property online but we went ahead anyway as the location was strategic e. G. ~20 mins ride to Kilometer Zero, ~30 mins ride to Sabang, walking distance to Iboih beach.
When we arrived at Pele's Place after taking the ferry from Banda Aceh, we were pleasantly surprised by the private and quaint ambience of the property. The views were amazing as the property was on the cliffside facing Pulau Rubiah, you can catch the sunrise/sunset just at the property itself. Ozin, the property manager was enthusiastic and friendly, he accommodated all our requests and made sure our experience was great. Ask him for food recommendations and places of interest.
The rooms were decent, it included a queen-sized bed and multiple power sockets as well as towels/blankets. The cleanliness can definitely be improved especially in the common bathroom but we're not complaining due to the price we paid (~$15) per night. However we eventually upgraded to the suit with attached bathrooms for convenience.
Pele's also serve amazing food ranging from freshly caught seafood, thin-crust pizzas and Indonesian staples like Nasi Goreng at a very affordable price (a meal for four costs roughly ~$20 in total).
