I have been to Indonesia many times and Snooze in Yogjakarta is a favourite. It's tucked away in a quiet location with great access to local cafes and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and the bathroom area, although it was shared was always really fresh and clean. The well designed communal spaces have been detailed beautifully with plants and cool vintage style pieces of furniture to enjoy while relaxing. The staff were all so friendly and helpful and were very knowledgeable of the area and the places I wanted to see. Malioboro JL is only about a 15 minute, easy walk. I'm so glad I found this place and would definitely stay again.

My last days in jogja, I decided to stay here and you won't be disappointed, not only was the room comfortable but also the hospitality was sooooo good, the staffs were so nice! and also something that I love abt this hostel is they'll let you take a shower even after checking out and no need to worry abt the towel bc they'll provide it for you!
Definitely gonna come back whenever I have time to visit jogja again!

We stayed at Snooze for four nights and absolutely loved it. The place is cozy, beautifully decorated, and wonderfully clean. The many plants around the property create a very relaxing atmosphere. We had a private room, and although the bathrooms are shared, they are kept perfectly clean at all times.
Breakfast is generous, with two tasty options to choose from. The atmosphere is amazing, largely thanks to the lovely reception staff — always smiling, friendly, and extremely helpful with tips for trips, restaurants, or anything you might need.
The location is great and the place is quiet at night.
A wonderful stay — highly recommended!

Snooze Jogja has such a peaceful, zen environment that immediately makes you feel at home. The vibe is calm, cozy, and welcoming—perfect for anyone looking to unwind. The staff are incredibly friendly and warm; every interaction feels genuine, and they really make the whole experience feel personal.
Breakfast is surprisingly very good, with simple but tasty options that make mornings feel comforting. The shared outdoor bathrooms are nothing to worry about—they’re clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully taken care of.
My only small issue during the stay was that the lights occasionally turned off, likely due to ongoing renovations. It was a minor inconvenience, but given how unique and relaxing the overall experience was, it didn’t overshadow the stay at all.
Overall, Snooze Jogja is a very nice and unique place—definitely a spot I’d recommend for anyone looking for a peaceful, welcoming stay in Jogja.

Totally loved my stay at Snooze Hostel! The staff are super friendly and kind—they make you feel at home right away. The place is really cozy, peaceful, and clean, with such a calming vibe. Perfect for relaxing after a day out in Jogja. Their hospitality is amazing, feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hostel. 100% would come back again!

This was my first time staying at a hostel and I couldn’t have chosen a better place! The staff at Snooze Yogyakarta were so helpful and kind, and you can tell that the space is treated with a lot of care. I was able to get an esim, get my laundry done, and more, directly from the comfort of the hostel.
The breakfast was amazing — they change up the menu each day and give you a choice between a savory or sweet plate. You even get a fruit bowl and a drink of choice on the side! I also enjoyed a nightly glass of freshly squeezed juice.
As for the room, I stayed in a private room with a fan. Everything that could have been a worry, like the lack of AC and no hot water, ended up not being an issue at all. After a day of walking around in the heat, a cold shower is exactly what I needed. The fan did a great job keeping me cool throughout the night and I slept well.
Great location, comfortable stay, helpful people. Highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in Jogja, even if you’re not on a budget and don’t typically go for hostels.

By far our favourite hostel we’ve stayed at in Southeast Asia! Beautiful gardens, very peaceful. Loads of outdoor spaces to sit around and relax. Clean, comfortable and nice rooms and good clean bathrooms as well. Free included breakfast (all vegetarian) was unmatched, so delicious and changes everyday. The staff were also really kind and friendly, super helpful and gave us amazing recommendations. Hostel filled with care and warmth, we utterly enjoyed our stay and can’t wait to go back. One of the best hostels we ever stayed at. The people are so incredibly friendly and caring, we felt very much at home. They made us iced tea/coffee every time we entered the hostel. The cold shower is perfect for the humid weather. Highly recommend!

This is such an amazing hostel. A must stay when you're in Yogyakarta. The hostel is beautiful, like a jungle garden. The rooms are so nice with comfortable beds. The staff is very helpful and will help organize all the tours in the area for the best price I've seen. Also the breakfast had the best banana pancakes I've ever tasted!

From the moment I arrived, I felt genuinely welcomed by the staff. The whole place gave off a comforting, homey vibe, like I was staying in someone’s cherished family home.
My bedroom was simple but spotless, and just what it’s needed to rest well. The shared bathrooms were a pleasant surprise. They were cleaned regularly and always felt fresh.
Breakfast only had two options. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was hearty, filling, and comforting. Like a small gesture that really matters.
If you’re looking for something cozy and full of soul rather than something flashy, this is the place. Not luxurious but for me, it was something even better: genuinely comforting.
Would definitely go back for my next trip to Jogja. :)

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at! The staff are genuinely amazing—super friendly and always offering me iced tea, which was such a thoughtful touch, especially since I work online and spent a lot of time in the shared space. The whole place is full of beautiful plants, giving it a super cozy and calming vibe. It’s clean as hell, seriously spotless. The atmosphere is really chill and comfortable—perfect for both relaxing and getting work done. It honestly felt like staying at your aunt’s house, where you’re taken care of with so much warmth and kindness. Definitely recommended! Bonus the cat was super cuddly 🌞

I stayed at SNOOZE Hostel in Yogyakarta for 5 days and 4 nights during the peak season in Indonesia, the Eid Fitri Holiday, and it was an excellent choice. The hostel genuinely looks exactly like the photos online. I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness of both the room and the bathroom. The service was truly outstanding; every staff member I encountered (around 4-5 people) was incredibly friendly and always offered tea or coffee, which was a lovely touch.
The location itself is excellent. The hostel is close to the city center, yet it's not crowded because it's tucked inside a residential alley. You won’t hear the noise or hustle of the city, but it’s still near the Alun-Alun (city square), only about 1 km away.
I wholeheartedly recommend staying at SNOOZE Hostel. Thank you for such a great stay!

This is definitely a "nicer" hostel! As a 30-something, I felt like it was perfect for me and it seemed like there were lots of folks over 28ish staying here. I stayed in a private room which was great, but still got to enjoy the hostel vibe and meet some other folks from the hostel. The staff was super nice and friendly. Always willing to help out with anything. The private room was unusually comfortable for a hostel room although the AC didn't work very well to cool the room — I'm not too bothered about that though since I'm in Southeast Asia so what can you do? At least it had AC :) overall, happy I stayed here and would recommend it! It's also at a pretty good location with plenty of restaurants and things nearby.

You find a place far from home but feels like home and treat guests like family. Every staff has a great way to make the moment more interesting. Shady, cool, clean and every corner of the building is classic. Basically, it's comfortable.

Absolutely blown away by the generosity and attentiveness of the staff at SNOOZE Yogyakarta. So friendly and willing to help, always. Affordable accommodation and also in a great location. Without a doubt the best budget option in Yogyakarta! Don’t hesitate, book it!
PS: make sure you request one of the rooms with aircon! It is SO hot in Yogyakarta!
