Reviews of Maya Ubud Resort & Spa 5*
I’m staying at the resort for my honeymoon. Pros: 1. The property is beautiful especially the spa pool. 2. We got a surprise honeymoon cake which was a great surprise. 3. There is a free shuttle bus that runs every hour until 5pm for pick ups/drop offs into town. Cons: 1. On the first night I woke up screaming because I could feel something crawling on my face. When we turned on the lights we found close to 10 “flying ants” in the bed and on the back bed wall area. The front desk offered to do a treatment in the room which they did and it helped. I just feel that for the price we paid and being a 5 star hotel they could have done more for us. 2. There’s only 1 outlet in the room which makes it difficult to charge things since you can only do 1 at a time 3. The food in the buffet is a 0/5. Not only is it extremely bland with limited choices, it’s also very overpriced. We made the mistake of eating here the first night. There’s so many cheaper, better tasting options off the resort.
Stayed here for my birthday weekend. And seriously, It's 10000x more beautiful in real life, something pictures cannot do. Like the scenery the vibe the fresh air. I didn't expect much I thought it would be kind of similar with the other Maya in Sanur which is already good enough, but NO this is so much more worth it! It's a whole different world once you enter the property. Spacious, quiet and private in the middle of beautiful nature making you feel like you own the whole place to yourself. Everything you see is breathetaking. (No I'm not exaggerating). The staffs are also very attentive and caring, they always make sure of our comfort. They also sent me a surprise cake to our villa too, which we ordered again the next day cause it was Y U M M Y. Overall, thank you Maya!

I stayed here for my honeymoon. I would not recommend to anyone or return. When we turned on the lights we found close to 10 “flying ants” in the bed and in the bed. The front desk offered to do a treatment in the room which they did and it helped. On the last night we found an ant in our bed (i understand the hotel is in a warm climate and these kinds of things happen — for example the ant in the bed or 1-2 flying ants wouldn’t have been a big deal but there so many. I just feel that for the price we paid and being a 5 star hotel they could have done more for us. We complained several times and were finally offered a free ride to our next hotel. 2. The customer service in general wasn’t great. For example, when we were checking out they charged us for a water bottle that we never drank. When we inquired about the charge they told us the bottle in the fridge was leaking/cracked so they billed us for it. 3. There’s only 1 outlet in the room which makes it difficult to charge things since you can only do 1 at a time 4. The food in the buffet is a 0/5. Not only is it extremely bland with limited choices, it’s also very overpriced.
