Excellent location and good food.

Beautiful location overlooking the sea.

The staff was not the staff! We were artists and they made us sit for hours outside when they promised room in the afternoon, they got us finger chips in the name of snacks! We had to buy water for drinking! we had to help set up the stage where we had to carry the beds to the ground. Later we had to even fight to exchange the coupons for food and drinks which they had given us! Then in the end they promised a vegan meal and ended up giving less than 10 chapatis and one small bowl of rice and one small bowl of watery daal! Wouldn’t recommend this place, the food is not worth paying the price! You can go and enjoy the view outside as the place is amazing but don’t expect the services as per the place!

It is an amazing experience to have delicious food with view of a pristine beach.

The whole of it booked the night, arrived lunch yesterday had a walk, sunset over the battlements, superb evening meal. Lovely menue. Good wine list, Indian wines on the up. This fort is not welcomeing for Indians there behaviours are very awkward for Indians tourists… I visited this fort on 27th of December they ask me for booking or no table… but foreign tourist are mostly welcome no booking nothing and the table is yours … shame on for this behaviour… you are also Indians… I wish Indians tourists please note before you visit here…

Among all the places I have been this was the best so far. The the hotel staff were excellent and helpful. The food at the restaurant was also delicious.

Lovely, niche, heritage stay. This heritage property is within the precincts of the historical, sea facing Tiracol Fort. It is beautifully done up & the rooms are very elegantly designed. Service is attentive, food though limited in choice, is excellent in taste & quality especially the local stuff. Nothing much to do other than to sit back, relax, take in the gorgeous views & enjoy the hospitality.

Heritage hotel set across the river Tiracol from mainland Goa in a little protectorate that seems to be part of Maharashtra rather than Goa. This little area is in Goa however. Take the ferry across the river Tiracol to shorten the distance and more importantly to avoid harassment at the hands of the Maharashtra police who wait at the bridge for the unwary tourist and then proceed to search cars for 'drugs' and alcohol. They also demand to see your license and write down the details. The hotel has beautiful views of the River Tiracol meeting the Arabian Sea and is set on a rocky promontory from which one can see the distant horizon and the curvature of the earth. The restaurant serves some mouth watering Continental and Indian cuisine and offers more of the fabulous views. There's a quaint chapel in the middle of the courtyard that is mostly shut. All rooms offer a sea view. Can be twice as expensive as a comparable 3-star resort in other parts of Goa. Go here for the beauty, relative solitude and the chance to experience Heritage.

Under the blue skies of the borders of Goa lies this spectacular fortress with a magnificent hotel. A 10min ride with a ferry that charges a meagre 10rs for a 4 wheeler. Great view along with yummy food presented in a well decent manner.

Fort Tiracol… Calm and peace can experience at this place… Some of the points give awesome views of sea and sea shore. You can enjoy all types food here like indian and continental also. Just relaxed and take a seat at hotel dining area, order some drink and food, and enjoy the beauty of nature… Actually this is good place for relaxing… Enjoy… Thanks…

Fort tiracol is a must do experience. We drove over an hour just so we can have a lunch there. N it didn’t disappoint. The view was breathtaking. The staff was super professional and the fort with the chapel the restaurant n the hotel rooms looked amazing. There’s a boat that can take you to the beach across the river opening. You have a very real chance of seeing dolphins. I think everyone should go there just book a table n make the drive.

Cozy hotel built into a historic place, far to walk to the nearest beach with Shjekami or shop.

This place is a private property now. A well built hotel. Bit surprising if you are going their and expecting fort like structure. But a view from top is mesmerizing. Do eat out side hotel fort Tiracol. Inside is bit expensive.

The fort has been converted to hotel and a restaurant named tavern. Its situated north border of Goa. People who like luxury romantic stay with peace, amazing views and good food may choose this place. The journey to the fort itself amazing through beautiful country roads including hill, river, bridges, mining (iron ore). We ride to the hotel and take approx 2 hrs. We have enjoyed a cup of coffee with the astonishing top view from the balcony. A ideal place for romantic stay / lunch where u get peace, hills, rock beach and sand beach (by little driving).

Best place ever. The best views of the sea and river merging. You could go fishing and cook the fish you catch. The food and the chefs are the best in preparing anything in the menu. Trust me, make the effort, go here.

The quiet and beautiful place. Nice hotel and restaurant. There's also a good cafe on the terrace outside with a great view on the river meeting the ocean. Nice breakfast.

Beautiful hotel in an old fort. The fort itself is not big, but the restaurant offers a beautiful panorama of the river Tikol and the Arabian Sea. Rooms only 7, dinner can be ordered directly in the room and cozy dinner on the balcony overlooking the sea. Beautiful bathroom with good plumbing. Sure Wi-Fi reception. However, at times the electricity is disconnected, but for a short.

With what anticipation I drove here and Skakim disappointment left. We wanted to have breakfast in this wonderful place. At 8am the guard didn't let us "say wait till 9". Okay. At 9 we were asked to leave the restaurant in a café, you will be fed there. But nobody showed up. All greeted and smiling, but instead of breakfast we got Nevermind: ( (

Historical fort converted into hotel and management has preserved it's integrity, making it feel untouched from the modern world. Sitting atop a hill there are breathtaking views of the Arabian sea. Can be challenging for those with knee problems, since there are steep steps. Also, staff was extremely helpful, special thanks to Francis for making our stay enjoyable and comfortable.

It is an outstanding opportunity to stay in a fort. It is nicely restored. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is delicious (I try only European food). And the wiew is commanding! If you want something to remember for, then it is one of the best choice!

Fort Tiracol it's a historical & romantic place, I love that place very much, all staff are cooperative specially chef Shravan. We love the view of Arabian sea, view of Tiracol river. View is must watch, breakfast, lunch, dinner is superb. Every family should come here to enjoy.

A wonderful experience staying in a fort property, a view to die for, a well hidden hide away, great food, very friendly staff, made u feel comfortable, yet very discreet.

Just visited the restaurant. The food is overpriced for that quality of taste. It doesn't even taste that great. If there was any other restaurant nearby, I would definitely go there instead. The view from the restaurant is great. But you need to be lucky enough to get that table Also, not much choice in their menu.

Restaurants and their hospitality was great but receptionist didn't show us the more than one basic room, even after not having all rooms filled she lied to say all rooms are occupied by guest. Need customer oriented PPL at reception.

I organized a trip from my hotel to this place for a scenic lunch. Whilst on the way I got stopped by a police constable saying that to go to this fort you'll have to go through Maharashtra, hence, you need all documents. Basically a play get a bribe I presume. So, I tried to get help from the Hotel but there was no one answering my call. Hence, it was on no avail. It was a perfect planned out afternoon ruined! I believe it is the hotel's responsibility to inform and check these peculiarities if they expect guests and of course to answer distressed calls.

Great views from the rooms and the rooftop restaurant. The staff is courteous and willing to go the extra mile to dig up information on places to visit. The food is decent but in conjunction with the view makes for a good experience. The rooms are nice and feel decently luxurious. It is a good place to stay especially if you do not want the obvious in Goa.

After travelling to Goa for over two decades I ended up at this place and just could not believe I hadn't come here earlier. Very quite, beautiful and relaxing stay. A++

An old world charm about it, after all it's part of a historical fort of a bygone era. Expensive though, even during the off season. They have a good choice of wines and variety of alcohol, but choice for food is severely restricted to some Italian and some Indian. Moreover, one has to place the order few hours earlier to be served at the pre decided time. Even the breakfast items have to be informed the previous night. There is a church in the courtyard, so at times you may be disturbed by the crowd if the mass is on. One night's stay is more than adequate to soak in the natural beauty, unless you truly want to laze around doing nothing and have far too deep pockets.

It's a good fort for a visit. Most of it is private property. Good for photoshoot. Nice windy place. Great view.

Would recommend this more for the view & ambience than the food. This was a miraculous find during a vacation I took with my best friend to goa. We hired a bike & were riding along the coast in search of beaches which are untouched & less popular. Disclaimer-We went in 1st week of june! And yes… it rained cats & dogs… And yes… we still enjoyed to the core! Moving on we found this milestone with a mention of tiracol fort & got all sherlock types… decided to visit the place. Much to our surprise, it turned out to be a heritage resort (those pricey type ones which we never opt for to save money :-P) We decided to take a chance and sat in the terrace turned into a traven to treat ouselves to food (it was lunchtime) The long ride along the winding road was worth the view! It was brilliant to just sit there & watch the waves meeting the beach in the rain (pardon me on getting all poet-y types but the place is just that! ) If you are a fan of italian food, ul enjoy the food too-i did not as it was too bland for me… thou I did love the dessert — but was too distracted with everything else to focus on food! Special mention of interiors, vintage photos & objects, color scheme of walls & seating… Tip — Sit inside instead of outside for better seating, ambience & not to forget pictures! If you are tired of riding all the way back & want to chill, take the ferry back… enquire @ the hotel reception for ferry timings.

Portuguese outpost Fort cum Heritage Hotel your stay experience is taken to completely a different level. Imagine you are living in the same Fort that guarded the borders just 50 years ago ironically now the occupants are more worried about the creepy and crawlies. It is in a more relaxed set-up being used to engage you into the world of history. Truly Wonderful…

We were apprehensive initially, but the experience turned out as one of the best ever. Amazing staff, food and the breathtaking view from the room and the restaurant were the major highlights. A stay at the fort provides a perfect combination of luxury, customer service and breathtaking views. I would recommend this place as a must visit when in Goa.
