Nice staff. Friendly atmosphere.

Nice view & food is very tasty 😋.

Food was very average for the price charged. 10% of service charge wasn't appreciable either for there was no service other than bringing the food and keeping it on the table.

Hotel is just opp to the beach. Other than that, Nothing special. But very costly. Rooms are very old and not maintained properly.

Food is ok — we visit about one weekend a month the restaurants but the toilets are old and disgusting each time we come they are dirty and overflowing and unusable. I make complaints every time but it doesn’t change.

Visiting here more than 10 years, great quality approach and best service.

I love The Promenade. The food, atmosphere, rooms and view are all fantastic.

It was a horrible experience on Xmas. We had a buffet in veg hardly 4 dishes … looked like serving left over food … tasteless… labels were not placed well … it was for 1500 I could have 5 bites of food … despite of asking them again and again they couldn't arrange veg dishes … even in no veg … only supplements were left chicken was over from the dish… PATHETIC going on festivals there … negative marking for it.

Beach view is awesome… The staff are helpful.

Very old horribly unclean rooms with disgusting linen. No car parking allowed near hotel after 4pm and it was never mentioned anywhere, and had to find the hard way through a very rude policeman who didn’t speak a word of English. Only saving grace was the friendly staff.

No one is there to welcome… nd services too not that much… it's better to keep self service there.

I absolutely loved the ambiance and warm greet by the waitress. Bay of Buddha has amazing food and highly recommend it to all.

It has the best location. Food is good. Ambiance is business hotel, lacks the french Aesthetics. We didn't get sea view so if you aren't getting the sea view thier sister concern hotel Les duplex is better to stay. We got a great deal on make my trip, stay here only if you are on a work trip. Definitely Visit their Rooftop restaurant and their story teller bar.

Really great service. Accomodated us without a reservation. Also moved us inside when it started to rain. Excellent food. Fresh and delicious. A must if you ever visit Pondicherry.

We visited Pondicherry recently and this was a most recommended place to stay. The swimming pool is awesome and kept clean, the rooms are very cozy and neat. The staff who served us during dinner time was so great and helpful. They would strike up conversations to make you feel at home. It's right in the middle of the French Town and right across the street from the rocky beach. Most of the places to visit are walking distance from the hotel so it worked out pretty great for us.

Nice four star property located on a busy junction. Rooms are big and clean. Buffet breakfast is great with good mix of Indian and continental food. Staff are very courteous and will greet you every time you pass by. I checked in with my wife and when we went to the room it had two single beds but they had our rooms changed after we told them. No great views from the room.

Nice place, service is good. The rooms are clean and big. The pool is clean, equipments in gym are good. Overall an awesome place to stay with your loved ones. The complementary breakfast buffet is wide spread. Would recommend.

Nice comfortable rooms, awesome breakfast spread. Their rooftop restaurant, Bay of Buddha, is a must try (Asian cuisine only though). The hotel is right in the middle of White Town, ideal for local sightseeing during the day and hanging around the beach in the evening.

One can seriously go to this restaurant for dinner with loved ones. As it is closed to beach so see shore is easily visible also the sea breeze will make your dinner very joyful.

For an old hotel, this place has been extremely very well maintained and spotlessly clean. The room service was spot on, with instant responses. Very polite and courteous staff. Breakfast spread was decent, although not too many varieties. We had booked for an ocean view room and we were lucky to have a view of the lighthouse as well. We had a pleasant stay with no complaints or compromises.

Service and food was both pretty good. It has good views but the rooftop bar has screens to control the beach wind which can hamper the view a bit.

Amazing location, nice variety of food choices, great night club, friendly and helpful staff, gave us early check-in and late checkout. A friendly and approachable GM who gave helpful advice. Couldn't have asked for more.

The staff aren't professional and not welcoming what so ever! Went there for lunch today and we were not even welcomed even though there were staff around, not guided to a table. The waiter took my order for nasi goreng and a few minutes later a waitress comes and tells us that the Chinese kitchen is closed due to repair work, not acceptable! The waiters (3 to be precise) who initially attended to us didn't even bother to smile. Only the chef who interacted with us as I asked him for an additional garlic bread and the one who presented the bill to us had smiles on their face. The food was good however not happy with the professionalism of the staff!

Beautiful Hotel very well located at sea front. Room is comfortable and nicely decorated. Staff is very friendly. Breakfast comprise a good range of Indian and continental options. Swimming Pool not big but beautifully set up and very relaxing. The roof top restaurant is amazing with good sea view. Disco Bar also available for a good Saturday evening outing. Overall a good experience in this boutique hotel and strongly suggested.

I stayed here for a weekend with my friends and it was an amazing experience. Beach facing rooms have beautiful view. The staff is efficient, scrumptious food, overall hospitality at its best.

Appart from its location, nothing great about the hotel. Very basic and average rooms not worth its cost. The roof top oriental restaurant is great in ambiance and food quality. Good for dinner as the evening cools off.

Ideal for sipping cocktails and enjoying live performances during weekends. It is located by the sea. So you can take a walk on the beach. Little pricey. But worth the ambience and experience.

Not value for money. Buffet really bad with limited options to choose. Basic mocktails were also not perfect.

Highly expensive, good infrastructure and well maintaining service, sea view restaurant avail at open space. Here, you can get French, Italian, Russian, Chinese dishes with proper presentation. Bar (special mix and cocktails avail) facility available. Better place for rich people's and business men meeting. Club dance and live concerts of musical presentation arrangements also done at special occasion (Saturday and Sunday)

I was last in Pondicherry in 2007. I had stayed elsewhere but visited the Promenade hotel and been suitably impressed. Memory has a way of extrapolating nostalgia. My next visit in 2018 and the Promenade was reserved. What a let down, though. The place possibly runs only due to its history and possibly the pub. The rooms are small, the linen had aged, the safe looked antique (not in a good way), the place really lacked upkeep. Time seemed to have passed it by. There are a lot of options now and the only thing going for this place is the location but at the rate it charges, please do find something better.

When we went on 25th there always no buffet but only A la Carte.
We had expected a lot but the Vegetarian food fell below expectations.
We took Ministroni Soup. Was Okish
Then we had a Cottage Cheese sizzler which was almost a Paneer Tikka with Potato Wedges. Not the conventional sizzler with Rice.
The Veggie Fried Rice was carrot fried rice made on some Non Veg Pan. …
Pineapple Raita was fine. Not sweet.
Dal Makhani was also Okish. Our friends had Sea food and Chicken which they said was good.
For Dessert we had a Sundea which was the best part of the meal. The Ambience and Location is awesome.
Service was also good. Over all an above average experience.

Location and food is very good, staff is very polite and friendly, it is just infront of rock beach, one can have dinning in sea breeze. Lots of food options, we hangout for 2 consecutive evening here awesome, in basement there is "The Story teller bar" have Orchestra and other programs day wise. Surely you will enjoy the place.

Nice glimpse of the sea, even from Non-Sea Facing room that we got. Hotel staff was courteous with prompt and timely service. Location is awesome, right on the beach and near to all local attractions. Food is fine in taste but understandably priced a bit high for the kind of hotel. Thanks to the entire staff (Nelson, Gloria & the entire team) for making it a HAPPY STAY. Recommended.

One of the worst experience I had with this hotel no basic amenities like AC. Breakfast is not good no much options. Worst service I had ever seen in the hospital industry.

I loved the location and roof top restaurant though most of the meals I have taken is either in city or another Cafe. But I like the delicious and prompt delivery. Moreover booking was convenient compared to other sea view hotels in the same French colony.

I went to this place to celebrate my bday with high hopes reading all the reviews but to my dismay this place turned out to be one those places which is overhyped due to ambience but food n taste were both just pathetic. We first entered the restaurant to find a table the staffs were so busy that they were literally ignoring us n we were chasing them for tables. Later we ourself found a table which wasn't cleaned and to top it all the table was broken. Later were moved to a different table. Then we had to ask them 5 times for water, the cutlery n to clean the table. Then finally we ordered food which will take 45min for them to prepare. Now the food comes starting with the bruchettas which was made out of a stale bread n state topings being frustrated we called the manager (Surinder) to complain and he instead of listening was arguing. We return it n ordered nachos which was average but ok in taste. Finally it was time for the main course and here vomes our sizzler which had had no salt no taste. Fist squit everything was stale plus there was no flavored rice as promised while taking order instead the manager (Surinder) gets us plain rice and says the menu has changed. I also complained about the sizzler but he was absolutely shameless and just walked away without even answering us. There were no hand wipes to wipe out hands. Finally we got up to jus get out of this place and pay the bill at the reception.

High standard of cuisine, coupled with great restaurant atmosphere. The food was fresh, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious…

Great food with awesome view. Buddha by the Bay is a must visit. Special thanks to Sabri, Chella and GnanaPrakash for warm hospitable service. The staff was very helful and even arranged a cab for us. They play live music during evening dinner which is lovely!

Continental style food… A bit expensive but worth it.

Really liked the place. You can get a good view of the sea. Rooms are very well maintained. Food tastes good and the price is on the higher side. Good for couples who wanna spend some quality weekend.

It was an amazing experience to stay here. There were a few problems checking in cause we had come earlier than check in time. But yet it was awesome. The rooms are nice and they have free Wi-Fi (ask the receptionist for the password). The pool is not big but deep and crystal clear. The food is very nice and the staff is very hospitable.

Very expensive place to stay the only benefit is hotel is on the beach road, sea view rooms available, only for that reason they are changing heavily.

Beaches are always lovely. This is mainly a rocky beach and does not have a long sandy shoreline. Vehicles are banned from 6 pm to 7 am.

Nice place to cool off.

Went for a lunch… AMAZING is the only word that comes to my mind while describing the restaurant staff… Specially ms. Shoboman, ms. Divya and mr. Sandeep… they made me feel so special… the food is EXCELLENT. The chefs had done a proper justice to whatever I ordered… Specially the Tiramisu… I will deffinitely visit you guys on my next visit… CHEERS! :)

Excellent hotel. Breakfast was too good.

One of few places that has done well over time. Their lunch and dinner buffets are excellent. If the weather gets better, don't miss sitting outside. Am glad their service and hospitality is excellent. Dont miss this place.

We went for terrace restaurant which was booked for private party. We settled for buffet at restaurant in ground floor. The buffet spread was not very elaborate but was very tasty, especially the pasta. The only issue is with the chair you could fall down with it while getting up, so be careful.

Loved staying here. Has a nice view of the beach. Its located on the beach road so its easy if you want to spend some time near the shore :) Also the morning breakfast was good with bacons and sausages.

We visited the rooftop restaurant for dinner at the Promenade. The ambiance was really nice, really swanky, with a view of the ocean. The staff were polite but it appeared that they were understaffed so service lacked a bit. Food was pricey and the quality dissapointing. The drinks were good however. Overall this place was ok.

Utter waste there is no resposible staff exspecialy the chef called vincent.

This is a very cute hotel, right along the beach in Pondicherry. Upon initial inspection of the room, it seemed very clean and well kept, but I did notice the bed linens were quite soiled. The bartender at the Risque bar made a fantastic Mojito (but the one on the roof didn't). The food was mediocre at best (I didn't eat from the buffet, but ordered from the menu). The location is great, the building and decor is wonderful, so overall, I'd say it was worth the expense, but there could be many improvements that would go a long way.
