DO NOT BOOK YHAI MANALI! Me and my Wife had a planned holiday for 19th, 20th, 21st and 22nd May 2016. Made our online Booking in So Called " INTERNATIONAL Youth Hostel". I can bet even a 3rd Grade Dharamshala would have been better. Got a deluxe Room for on Top Floor for Rs 1600/Night. it is very difficult to reach this place (COMPLETE OUTSKIRTS) being at a distance of about 5-6Kms from Main Bus stand and Market. On the first instance just by seeing the Building from Outside and being just next to Club Mahindra Resorts, I thought this would be good as being quite a silent Place away from Market and any sort of Traffic. Room booked was on Top Floor, NO BODY WAS AVAILABLE for LUGGAGE. HOSTEL they do not have such facilities. Stairs on Ground floor, It was stinking because of Kitchen next to it. Although it was not allowed, I managed to peep in and got a glimpse of the Shabby Kitchen. As soon as we reached our DELUXE ROOM, room was not found matching as it is displayed on website at all. No water was available only one unclean empty jug and two Glass with stains were kept. Bedsheet was not clean and was torn from few places Intercom was not working, property Manager Mr Anil Nag said that we do not serve water in Room, If required get the Jug and take water from Cooler from Ground Floor, next to Kitchen. We asked for Bottled water, He clearly said we do not sell Bottled Water (I Thought this Place was supposed to be for International Tourist as well) Anyways I managed Bottled Water from Club Mahindra just next to this property. We checked Bathroom, It was dirty, Used shampoo Sachet were on Floor, Toilet Seats were not clean. And the best part NO WATER IN TAP. After informing we got water after about 10 mins at-least in TAPS. As soon as we opened Balcony, First thing we saw as Left over (one Vest, dust and Cigarette buds from last occupant, I do agree View from Balcony was good and it was Very silent and Pleasing. After refreshing we inquired whether we can get any Cab for ROHTANG Pass, Mr NAG told us that they do not have any such facility and cannot arrange cab and he suggested us to check with TAXI union in market. Went to market and returned about 9.30pm, At that time no one was available at reception. We checked the Almirah for Blanket and only one blanket was available kept in a very Untidy way. TV!, Only One Channel that TOO was not clear. Next day Early morning as we had our taxi booked for ROHTANG Pass around 5am I came down, one Boy was coming out of Kitchen and I asked for cup of Tea, He said its not possible before 7~7.30am. On our way back from ROHTANG even our cab driver suggested to change the Hotel as he was aware about situation at INTERNATIONAL YOUTH HOSTEL. He showed us on way few hotels which exactly half the price with a decent view but to agree view from our YHAI room was far much better and silent. But anything other than that was better at all hotels that we saw on way. We requested for our refund so that we could have shifted somewhere else but he clearly said No refund is possible for any booking specially ONLINE. We had to stay there. Things got worsen as after the first day as we could never see EVEN Mr Anil Nag anytime, Although he was available on phone, but I realized that his tone Changed (Probably because we were complaining “) It became really difficult to manage after 2nd day and we checked out on Morning 21st itself instead of 22nd. We came back to Delhi and complained the same to Delhi Office via Phone and Mails. Just to defend There Man and there image now they are putting false allegations that we had asked for LIQUER on reception (BTW : Liquor is not permitted at ALL YHAI properties) and had heated arguments so we are blaming them. It is not a matter for Money but you plan your Holidays to be good, and this experience was terrible. Do not ever book ROOM in YHAI Manali. Instead try OYO ROOMS or something else to get far much better budget options.
