I call it a fateful wednesday night on the 29th of July, 2015 for the sole reason that my friend n I decided to have a girls night out at the most (little did I know at the time) ominous place in town — Qbar Hilton. Since they were supposedly hosting a women's/girls' night, we thought let's brave their rooftop mosquitoes and go have some fun. Turns out, it was the exact opposite of fun. We arrived at QBar around 2215 Hrs. And were greeted by a very curt bouncer right at the outset who requested for our ids. Understanding that he's only doing his job we requested him to wait a while, while we show him soft copies of the same since we weren't carrying the physical ids at the time. While we were in the process of getting the same sorted, the same individual (Mr. Curt Bouncer) let three Foreign Nationals (White People) pass without an id check. On confronting them with the same, the Hilton staff retorted saying the foreign nationals were in-house guests and so required no id check. While we (my friend n I) understand that in — house guests give their ids at the time of check-in, what we didn't understand is how do you determine outside a bar/club/outlet if an in-house guest is a minor or not (unless you have some X-ray scanner eyes or are telepathic, may be)? And when asked this to the manager on duty, he had no valid explanation for the same. (This was clear racism in our faces and it shamed me to see fellow Indians behave with such servility towards the fairer skin). As if that wasn't enough, when we were finally seated and were directed to the bar by the server, another attendant walked up to us refusing to serve us any drinks stating that the bar closes at 2300Hrs. As I looked down upon my watch, it was still 5 mintues to 2230Hrs to which the gentleman reverted by rephrasing that the closing time is 2245Hrs and so they shall not serve. Do I need say more? If this is not appalling then what is? Thank you guys at QBar Hilton for displaying your not so hospitable selves in time for us to have walked out of there in time to reach The Taj where we truly had a gala time. If it weren't for your horrible customer service and poor show that night, we'd probably be stuck having the most unpalatable night of our lives. Never ever again shall we make the same mistake, twice nor let those around us do the same. So long!
