The room provided was sub-standard (Room no. 1202). The floors seemed to have not been cleaned for a long time. The bathroom is below standard. One of the wash basin was blocked. The shower button didnt work (it was broken). There was no exhaust in the bathroom. Everytime you use the bathroom, it would start smelling of odor because there was no exhaust. The a/c made a constant noise. In the morning, when we asked for additional toiletries no one attended to the request. Instead the reception called us at 11:45am and started requesting to vacate the room as the next guest already arrived. The check out was at 12 PM. We didn't intend to stay beyond that time but it was surprising to see the was the reception was pushing us to vacate the room. I am not sure where they parked our car yesterday when we arrived but when they bought my car today it was dirty as anything. Seemed like it was parked in some jungle. When we are paying a premium tariff and going to a premium 5 star hotel we expect some basic cleanliness and a standard room. This experience was far below those standards.

Needless to say the ambiance is very absorbing and serene. The Taj service is impeccable and they live up to the guest's expectation and the benchmark they ser for service excellence. however the room interiors was a bit disappointing, contrary to the expectation.

Extremely DISAPPOINTED with the service today at the Taj West End restaurants. During this pandemic they are offering a limited menu for delivery/take out. We called and placed an order at 11 am and offered to pick up our food at 1pm. The hotel representative said he could deliver between 1-130 and we agreed. For over ONE HOUR we waited for our food — and kept messaging and calling the restaurant department, asking about our food. They insisted it was on its way (we live 5 minutes from the hotel). The delivery boy showed up at 235 PM. What horrible service from a hotel we frequent a lot during normal times. It’s extremely disheartening to see the lack of care by those on duty today. I hope management takes a look at this situation and rectifies it — it will be a while before I take my business back to West End.

Heritage property. Heritage walk they conduct was interesting and informative. Turkeys and rabbits on the property thrilled the little kids. Not pet friendly. Food was very good. Service was great. Can't expect any lesser from Taj anyway.

Went here to attend a wedding… They decorated the venue very nicely. Gave enough breathing space for all the people attending the wedding. It's very wide spread. Food was very average though, very bland. They could have catered to all the audience, considering that there were so many food options. Staff were very courteous. Rooms were fine, beds were good. Bathroom door was faulty, was not getting locked!

Lovely place to stay but my 3 stars are because I faced a couple of issues during the stay. I was given a bad room, it was very small and ac ventilation was defective. Cigarette smoke smell filled my room. I complained and they shifted me to a Better bigger room. I clearly mentioned I will check out at 4pm since they had that option and they booked the room till 4. At 3 they started asking me when I am leaving since new guests are waiting, nonsense. They earn lot from corporate events and weddings, so they have a little bad attitude towards other guests. But their on duty management is very polite and listen to your issues. But when u stay paying that much issues should not show up. Average stay but awesome food.

As the name suggest it's heritage. The hotel is in the centre of the city and it's connected pretty well. The rooms and hotels are very well maintained and they are mark of the kings life. Very peaceful well maintained heritage. The food is outstanding and all the restaurant serve best in class food. Staff is very courteous and gentle and take care of all the need. They are responsive and attentive in all situation. The stay was overall excellent and would love to drop by again.

Very nice hotel in the middle of the city. I couldn't believe such place existed in Bangalore. Staff is really helpful. And we enjoyed walk in the lush green gardens. Overall enjoyed my stay.

Amazing! I absolutely loved the relaxed and calm ambience. The hotel is very well maintained. There are two swimming pools and the area is full of greenery. And the piano person was playing some very soothing chords…

A central park in the middle of the city… Where you don't hear ay traffic in spite of this being in the heart of the city. Lot of trees and space to walk around. Still carries the old world charm. However may be due to the legacy of the staff who work there. The restaurant service is average. There is no specific kids facility like in resorts.

The ambience and the way you are received in this hotel is amazing you will feel like a king. The staff are really courteous, the explain what exactly is the food as it is a Vietnamese restaurant. I went there for my girlfriend birthday. After an amazing lunch we got a complimentary cake for her that was a really good gesture.

Nice place. Sunday buffet was oily and lacked finesse. The coffee served had curdled milk, had to go and complain. Singers were lively and The ambience was good. Family togetherness was memorable♥️

Had been to a dinner party. The property is old but the ambience was great. The staff was courteous. Food wasn't extraordinary, it was fine. There was a some confusion as we were a group of 15 and we opted for a la carte. I was disappointed with the fact that when they were serving rice the spoon was touching the used plates. Don't expect that in a 5 star restaurant.

Peacocks are too passe in India, so this place has turkeys roaming the lawn. This place is ridiculously pleasant and high end. The room cabins are not the highest-maintained, but given you're in colonial-style huts surrounded by palms, it can have a few rough edges. The buffet is amazing. It's like a well-maintained golf-course, without the golf.

A very nice place. Good food. Large area to walk around. Very good conference rooms and halls. The staff is very friendly. They have battery operated cars inside the premises. It is in the heart of the city but the premises is so big that you do not get the traffic sound inside. The only problem I felt is the vallet parking, I guess they park your car in some open space and your car gets a lot of dirt on the exteriors. Other than that all good.

This 5 star property lives up to the Taj name in more than one way. The green environs offer a pristine view in addition to providing a refreshing stay. The cottages are big and comfortable, the staff courteous and the food, the icing on the cake.

It’s just an “WOW” experience. Everywhere you will find green, naturally green. Club rooms are big and lavish, hospitality 20 out of 10. Food is just wow. Love their health club and enjoyed every bit of it. In the heart of the city but so calm n green. Want to get back with my family again. Taj West End… you people rock.

One of the best experience while staying & dine. And if you are Indian food lover than here is a restaurant known as MASALA CLUB. My first choice in Bangalore. There is other restaurants as well. Oldest hotel in town, almost 130 years. Hotel is quite big in size but with only 2 floors in every sector. Full of greenery with trees and flowers. You will be experience that you are living in forest with full of luxury.

Wow. This was an experience. I came here for a conference and was overwhelmed. The trees and birds block out the sounds of the city. You can walk around the grounds for an hour and see so many different things. Amazing.

I was the awosome place in the middle of the city too peaceful with the trees feel like in jungle when I entered at night I loved a lot off that night view and most off the thing is the deserts was so… Good with the friendly natured staff…

I'd call it a neutral experience. Participated in a conference spanning 7 days. So, a good sample size for the feedback I write. Things which I liked the most — hospitality, staff, ambience and greenery, it's Heritage. Things that can be improved — the food! Taste especially, I know it has to have a pleasing taste in your palate, but it didn't please neither me or my colleagues. It could be that our preferences are different. So, I won't blame it on the hotel. The other things that can be improved significantly is the way they orchestrate the lunch when there's a gathering of people above 300-400. It wasn't managed well, the space was small and crowded and it was taking time to refill what got emptied. Also, since there's a lot of tree cover, atleast in the place where food was served to us, there's a high chance something might fall into your plate. Overall, it was okay. It depends on your preference and expectation.

To be honest 5 star rated hotels charm has disappeared. The interiors of this centrally located property look tired and dated. Convention hall looks like some marriage hall. Overall disappointed with this hotel. Needs a fresh relook. Just relies on Taj brand name.

Wonderful place, great staff, good food. Best thing about this place s that you forget you are in Bangalore which has degenerated into a concrete jungle due to bad real estate guys/firms and corrupt politicians. Really enviable greenery inside, makes for a great ambience!

Great ambience. The place is quite elegant suitable for grand ceremonies and parties. Food was good and staff vary cordial and friendly. Ample parking space and area is well maintained.

Hospitality that matches excellence. We were super happy to be received so warmly, almost like walking into a home (a royal and fancy one at that). Parakh welcomes us very warmly and upon learning that our stay was a wedding gift weekend, she put us into a lovely duplex room.
Suman K took us around on a very informative heritage walk and the highlight was being presented with a photo card so promptly.
Every single staff person that we came across in whatever part of the property (whether early morning or later in the night), made sure to greet us with radiant smiles!
With a property so huge, maintenance can be a tough job, but not here. The flora all around is beautiful and trimmed and kept so well.
We had a brilliant time exploring the plants in the Herbs garden and watching the adorable rabbits have a chill time.
All in all, highly recommended to all! We hope we get back someday soon!

The Taj West End is one of the historic hotels in Bangalore with a history dating back to more than 125+ years. It is a great hotel with good luxury features while having a lot of greenery also. The management takes care such that the plants are maintained in their pristine format giving a cool effect to the whole area even while the climate is hot. There are a variety of international cuisines to try and good recreational activities are also available. The staff are good and the place is popular among international travelers who want luxury in the heart of Bangalore.

I am so disappointed to have to write this review. The Taj West End has been one of my happiest memories of India. I have been coming here for years and unfortunately every year the cleanliness and maintenance has gone down dramatically. I appreciate the age and uniqueness of this location. The grounds are gorgeous, the service is top notch, the spa is wonderful, but the rooms and general facilities are just dirty. I have attached a series of photos from my room to try and capture the grime. It's hard to explain because dirt has just been painted over time and time again so there is just this feeling that there is a film over everything. You know the exterior door jamb coming from the garage to your house? The one that everyone touches a million times? It's like that. The Taj is a wonderful institution and deserves better. It's time for a rejuvenation without losing the charm. Oh, did I mention the 2 mice that invaded our conference room?

We celebrated our anniversary at The Blue Ginger at Taj Westend and we loved it. It's so quiet and charming. You can spend the whole day there without any disturbance. The staff was super friendly and courteous. Talking about the food, I ordered the spring rolls, garden salad and raw mango salad. The raw mango was to die for. Then for the mains it was Trio mushrooms, fried rice and Grilled sea baas. For the dessert we went for Chocolate Mousse. And in the end they gave us a Chocolate cake for the anniversary. Will visit again.

Taj West End is a beautiful place, probably one of the best in Bangalore. We went for lunch on a Thursday but we reached late due to traffic. The buffet was almost closing. So we had to order a la carte. The food was delicious and we received complementary dessert. The staff was really sweet and helping. Overall, it is a great place!

India's longest running hotel, 130 years! So much history to this place. It feels like you're in a completely different place to the heart of Bangalore because you can't hear any noise. The only give away that you're close to the heart of the city is one tall building. Interesting architecture, lots of historical significance, peaceful, super friendly staff and a lot of food options. Be sure to do the heritage walk in the evening where a guided walks you around the property, with champagne ofcourse.

The stay was good except there seems to be a communication gap between their call center and the hotel. We were promised a buffet dinner but were then told that we had to choose from a set menu because the buffet was for a private party. This put is in an embarrassing position because we had invited some friends over for the buffet dinner. Although we were upgraded to a suite and we appreciate the gesture, the beds were hard and pillows were very soft. An amount of discomfort on that score. Apart from this, the food was great. The appams and stew was to die for and the customer care was its best!

I had tea time at the west end and it was a beautiful setting. The food was good, but it is pricey for the quality. Outdoor seating was charming and the lobby and rooms are clean and luxurious. I love staying at five star resorts and spending money on good food, but I honestly had a problem with the pricing.

Taj West End is situated in the heart of Bangalore town. Their quality in customer service is excellent. The restaurants are with beautiful ambiance. Very eco friendly environment provides lot of rejuvenation.

Location is good. I saw a duplex room and it looked really nice. The mynt restaurant was quite good and the staff is friendly. I expected it to be like a multi storied hotel but I was pleasantly surprised by how the property has been built. It feels more like apartments rather thsn just rooms. And inside the property the common areas are quite good. All in all a great experience.

I have been to Taj West End — Grand Ballroom to attend one conference. Security checkin is smooth. Grand ballroom is big enough for 100 people. Good for corporate events. Food was excellent. Staff was well trained. Good ambience.

This is the place to be. Oldest hotel in town with great service, food and outdoors seating. Make sure to do the daily historic walking tour in the gardens. So many trees, great example how to combine city life and nature.

Christmas 2014 experienced here! What should I write? A hotel facility in this kind, for me, is full of Surprises. All around just a luxury. Everything worked out as agreed.

Really enjoyed our 4 day stay. The staff were all very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The Hotel is well located for tourists. Bangalore Palace, Cubbon Park and Tipu Sultan Fort and Palace were close by. We could get a rick/ tuk tuk to the city centre for R100. Food and drink at the hotel are the same as any 4 star hotel in other parts of the world. You pay for quality food and very attentive service. It was a wonderful peaceful haven to return to at the end of each day's outing.

Loved staying here. An amazing property in the heart of the city. Away from the bustle of the city, westend is tucked away and the rooms are lovely with a nice sit out garden view. The food is absolutely delicious, especially the Asian food at Blue ginger. We did have an event around the Raintree (the oldest tree in bangalore) and it seemed like we were in a forest ranch — its gorgeous. The breakfast is quite elaborate too. Hospitality and service is impeccable.

Amazing hotel. Staff bent over backwards to make sure our stay was perfect. Even organising a private breakfast by the pool. Rooms — amazing. I especially liked the menu for the different baths you could have prepared for you! Staff — brilliant especially the reception team.

High value for (lot of) money. Good quality food and service but they are maybe bit relaxed… Complimentary Internet (Wi-Fi) connection is very slow.

Nice looking place to take a stroll. The food and drinks are terribly expensive. Drink somewhere else, have food and go for a walk in the quaint environs of this heritage hotel. All restaurants, especially Blue ginger look good from outside. I am sure staying there in one of those classy rooms would be fun.

It's nice place to go. Lot of greenery, peaceful place no rush. I, with my wife, had gone for our 1st marriage anniversary celebration and it came out be a good decision. There are some 3-4 different places within Taj also. Now I don't remember which one we went, to but overall place was good and not very costly also. Don't forget to book in advance.

My visit to Blue Ginger at the Taj West End; reviewed extensively for their Vietnamese Cuisine, in all honesty I think the only thing Vietnamese was their chef! It was a sea food lunch which my husband and I opted for and while the steward brought us prawn crackers (complimentary snack) as a refill to the plain chili ones served normally with our beverages, the a la carte menu was not everything it claimed to be. Maybe it was because I haven't been to Vietnam to know any better, but other than the fact that I love lobster the oil err sorry I think that was meant to be red bean sauce gravy was just not good. The grilled white pomfret which was my husband's choice of the day also seemed to be crisp and rich in oil but not in flavour. While the steward at first, seemed a little stoic; our daughter managed to melt his demeanour a wee bit. Part of the reason, was he was intrigued by our choice of name for her and then there was the matter of us ordering from the a la carte menu like we were millionaires for a day, whatever the reason behind the change in mood it helped lighten the fact that our satisfaction with the cuisine itself was below expectation. Another downer was when I entered the main lobby area to buy some pastries from their cake shop, which was poorly manned, I prefer to attribute this to the fact that weekend brunchers had swarmed the buffet area and thus the inattentiveness to me as a customer nonetheless.
