It is a very old hotel which the owner is trying to update. And doing a good job. First impressions from the outside some might think ' what a dive '. Please don't judge from the outside. HUGE ROOMS some with kitchens with full size fridge microwaves etc. Other rooms still huge with microwave coffee machine and mini fridges for now. Very clean beds very comfortable. Great pillows… black out curtains but need some new ones. For smokers or not patio tables with w chairs outside your door. Owners are extremely nice. Parking lot exceotionallt well lit. Best of all the price is the best!

Gawd awful. The room smelled like had become a nonsmoking room last week, the shower was digusting, Wi-Fi is deathly slow but the bed wasn't bad.

Good management and great prices.

Our family have been blessed and gifted too have been left to live our lives and privacy. To the staff thank you very much, we apologize for not being more cooperative. C& C.

The rooms are not clean, there were hairs in the shower. In the upper rooms, the Wi-Fi is quite bad. Really! You need to sit very close to the windows to get a good (…) connection. The good thing: Coffee & coffee machine in the room, lady at the helpdesk was super friendly. But don't go there unless you really don't find anything else.

This Motel is infamous here in Victoria, for street workers (Hookers) and the odd crack head. But hey if that is not enough of a reason for anyone wanting to drop everything and book a room here heed this warning! If you run out of toilette paper or need new bottles of shampoo or conditioner you might risk getting a scolding by the resident caretaker, with comments like you're wiping your asses too much or today's daily phrase you guys are not Hong but trouble! We've literally been guests here now 8 days, with 9 days left, might leave on the 31st of this month depending on whether or not the verbal abuses continue?

Booked last minute here as it was the only place that had rooms open. Victoria is expensive and if you are looking for somewhere to stay on a budget, this place will do for a night. Nothing fancy, but clean enough. We arrived earlier than expected and they were kind enough to check us in early. Walking distance from the harbor area. It was quiet at night.

Stayed one night at the Metro Inn and will not be coming back ever again. The size of the room was nice. That's about the only thing good about this hotel. — Room was advertised to have Wi-Fi, but the router was too far to reach our room. — There were several insects sharing the room with us. There were also many old insect carcasses under the bed. — The front door would not lock properly — Both the bathroom door and the front door needed excessive force to close properly — Out of the three lights in the bathroom, only one was working — The refrigerator was filthy; the door was covered in a layer of a dried out, white substance — There was a very large closet space, but no hangers to hang clothes on — No desk space or any chairs — There were some interesting stains found on the bed under a UV blacklight I would definitely not recommend the Metro Inn to anyone. However, if it is your last resort, I recommend that you pack an electric fly swatter and some bug spray.

We were looking for cheap overnight accommodation without extras. Found it. Yes it's dated, the cupboards and floor coverings are old but the room was spacious, the bed (plus stove and fridge new) and it was clean. The locals friendly.

We booked two nights with this hotel, and had to end up canceling the reservation before we even got there, due to unaccommodating staff. Visiting from another part of the island after work we were unsure that we would arrive in time for the 9pm check-in, so we called to ask if there was any way that someone could stay a little bit longer for us to check in or leave our room unlocked for us. This request was met by a response of "absolutely not", and they told us to cancel our reservation if we couldn't make it for 9 o'clock, without informing us that there was a cancellation fee. As people who are employed in the hospitality industry, specifically in a hotel, we thought that this was very rude, especially since we ended up having to pay a late cancellation fee. Needless to say we are not too happy with the customer service provided, and will not be booking with this Inn again.

This was by far the most atrocious place we have ever encountered. Ever. The owner/manager and his wife are the rudest and most inhospitable people that you could imagine. They were annoyed that our son was riding his scooter outside their window and called the police! Despite our best attempts to reassure him he did nothing wrong (and the police tried to do the same), he is still in a total state of worry about it all. Not only did these incredibly rude and abusive people throw us out (seriously! ) by calling on the police (who were so apologetic and in disbelief but they just couldn't reason with her any more than we could), but they charged us for that night! Thankfully, the police on the call helped us find alternative accommodations. They were so amazing. We will be seeking for a refund for the bogus, traumatic night we were charged for, but if we can save anyone else from having this sort of horrible, entirely unnecessary experience, we want to do that. There are definitely people who do not belong in the hospitality business. These people are exactly the sort who are entirely unsuited to be hosting or interacting with anyone. For any reason. Stay away from the Metro Hotel at all costs. If I could give this hotel negative stars, I would. But the site won't allow me to leave a review without clicking at least one star. The Metro Hotel is a no star hotel… a negative five star hotel. Just don't book here unless you like abuse and trauma.

You will regret your stay. The man that runs this place is the rudest most inconsiderate person I have ever met. Charged us (under dispute with credit card company) for a bogus charge. Stay anywhere else that you can stay. The extra money you pay to stay elsewhere will be the best money you will ever spend.

This might be the worst motel you have ever seen. I think they have a manager and his wife work there in exchange for a free room. They were incredibly abusive to guests. They looked like they have not bathed in weeks. I was passing through on my way back to Vancouver and didn't know all the hotels would be booked for the long weekend. I booked a place online but when I saw this place I just left and went downtown to very nice high end hotel that had 1 room because of a cancelation. If you have a choice do not even stop by this place. It is just scary.

Nice and cheap and located right next to Spoons (which is epic for brunch). Just wish it had air conditioning or a fan or something in the room. Very nice people who run it as well.

It has changed managment in the last year and is now very clean and convienient for the price. No bugs and very well placed from downtown. Of course its not the rialto but at least it is clean and there are restautants for food and there is a conceniance store close by.

Very poor management don't clean the room's For monthly renters, No smoke detectors that works in monthly rental rooms.

You will experience the joys of trying to sleep next to a transit bus maintenance centre and breathe the tangy carbon dioxide emissions-enjoy!

Gross place stayed at this place while relocating back from another province saw lots of bed bugs on the sheets and comforter, god knows how long it has been since this place was cleaned no house keeping and there is people living in here that are scarey, strange noises at night banging on walls down below, the immigrants that run this place are rude, they have a laundrymat here for $1.50 you can do your laundry so I cleaned the bed sheets, still found bed bugs, got bites on my arms and now my arms are scared because of this place, dump dump the owner does nothing but collect the money when he comes around in his land rover, would I stay here again no way.! stay away from this place.

BEDBUGS! I wouldn't give it a star at all if I didn't have to, to write a review. ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING/DIRTY! We found a bedbug in our beds the day before we left AFTER finding bites on us, not knowing where they came from. Assuming/hoping it was fleas. There were no amenities, No trash bins in rooms, Housekeeping NEVER came to our room so no clean towels and no clean sheets! Not to mention the woman working was incredibly rude and disrespectful, accusing us of dumpster diving and even coming (actually sending a man (a random man) to our room) to berate us about a false "noise complaint" (we were watching TV! ) Don't subject yourself or your children to a place like this. It's not close to anything. Not even a store or a restaurant. Motel 6 is a Hilton compared to this place! GROSS.

This is the absolute worst hotel that I have ever stayed at. That’s saying something because I have stayed at many hostels, and lower budget hotels in my time. To compare it to a crack house is an understatement. Where to begin. Perhaps with the airport shuttle that my mom and I took after our flight. We told the driver that the daffodil inn was where we needed to get dropped off, he laughed, and told us he thought we were kidding. He went on to joke by asking us if were paying by the hour or a day rate. As if this wasn't frightening enough, he told us that it was rumored to be where prostitutes waited for their costumers, you could tell by looking for candles lit in windows that there was a prostitute there. At this point I'm freaking out, I didn’t even know that Victoria had prostitutes?! But sure enough when we got there, in the windows of the rooms next to us there were candles lit, if it had not been so late we would have checked out immediately but my mom was tired so she said "one night will be fine". The shuttle driver wished us good luck, and drove away. We went to check in at the front desk, which was dirty, and the guy sitting there was beyond creepy, and most unhelpful. He gave us our keys and we ventured up to our room.

I would personally recommend this place I stayed there once and it was nice and welcoming. If you need a place that is not too high of price or just on a tour of the city and staying for short time I recommend this place.
