W ow wow wow. This place is amazing. The rooms with ganges view are fab, pay the extra its worth it.
Better than any movie watching the activity of the ganges and its people. Rooms are very clean with little extra touches joss sticks, shampoo.
The reception staff though I cant thank enough, my bag was stuck at Delhi airport for 2 days and without them communicating for me I would struggle to find out what was going on.
the food is brilliant and cleaning staff clean your room beautifully every day.
In all a magical experience.

I stayed at Ganpati House the first week of August, 2018. I wanted to be able to walk out of my hotel and be where all the people are, the ghats, etc. – the reason I came to Varanasi. Ganpati is a quaint, clean hotel with great service and a helpful, friendly staff. The food is very good and the rooftop is a great place to have a beer in the evening. It overlooks the Ganges. I chose Ganpati because I arranged this trip myself and I was concerned about reliability. The staff got right back to me several times via email when I had questions. They arranged to have me picked up from the parking lot and the guide was exactly on time. You won’t be sorry you stayed here! I highly recommend this guest house if you want to see everything you came to see and feel at home when you are returning to your hotel.

Varanasi is my favourite Indian city, I've been many times and when possible, I always try to stay here at Ganpati. It's a guest house right by the ghats and as such, some of the premium rooms provide spectacular views of the river — even if you don't choose a premium room, the top floor restaurant gives the same beautiful panoramic views. I've posted a few photos showing the view from the room I usually stay in. My room itself contained a comfy double bed, effective a/c unit, mini fridge & small safe to keep my valuables in. Other little extras included a hair dryer & an incense burner :) Pretty much everything I want and expect from an equivalent 3 star hotel. It's also worth mentioning that everything was pretty clean. I also liked the fact that some of the facilities they offer are very reasonably priced — laundry and car hire for the day, being two examples. A quick tip for you: Take the optional pick up, it's not too pricey and will help your journey run more smoothly — Your driver will stop at the part where no cars can go further, then he'll take your cases and walk you through the maze like alleyways to get to the hotel (it's nice to have someone carry your luggage as it is a good 10 minute walk).

Wonderful view of the Ganges. The rooms are clean and spacious. Excellent service. Food is available at a medium price. The view of the Ganges from the balcony (which is accessible to all the guests) is just breathtaking. The Morning and Evening Aarti is visible from the Hotel. After sunset, the roof of the hotel is the best place to have snacks and watch the ganges. Would highly recommend this hotel.

I cannot begin to tell you how much I adored this guesthouse! As soon as I arrived to my room, I was in heaven! The most subtle fragrance welcomed me right in, as well as the attention to detail from the bedding to the decor. CLEAN room, hot water, and secure space. The staff were amazing at helping me get settled in and even had a walking temple tour with the very knowledgeable Aman (highly recommend) to help me navigate the maze of streets. Rooftop restaurant had great food, fabulous views to Ganga, fire ceremonies, and the ghats. The staff even helped care for me when I sprained my ankle.

Amazing stay! From pick up at airport to drop off could not be more pleased. The room was VERY clean, shower had good hot water, and fabulous location! Right in the hub of all the action — roof top restaurant offered good food, amazing views of evening ceremonies and the Ganga River. Traveling solo, safety was key — I felt welcomed secure and safe. After a walking temple tour from Aman (highly recommend) it became easier to navigate the streets which are a maze. Staff was caring and always there for you — I even sprained my ankle and they were extremely helpful at providing care. I had a room in the annex building, so not the main, and I enjoyed the quaint walk through the streets and locals to get there. If you want view and pay more $$ then one would choose the main building. Highly recommend and cannot wait to return!

This hotel is located close to river and good view from roof top. Everything else was not good experience, cars can not go to hotel, have to walk on foot by narrow dirty roads to carry bags. AC was not cooling, shower was leaking all over, can't even fill a bucket of water. I would not recomment staying at this place, find a better place to stay if you are from overseas.

Since 2015 this is my best place for my Hungarian group as well. My guest alwasy like this place, they surprised about the wonderful panoramic views from the roof top restaurant. They liked the unique rooms and ethnic designs and the small garden, what we could meet and chat anytime. The staff also perfect, They can manage everything what U want anytime. I highly recommend this place, You won't be disappointed!

Stayed here for just one night with a friend. Felt a lot longer as we checked in at noon and left in afternoon the next day (left our luggage at reception after we checked out of room) Lovely place, nice room, great views of the river from roof restaurant. Appreciated hotel arranging for us to be met and escorted to Ganpati from Varanasi rail station, otherwise would have been hard to locate.

I just came to the penthouse to have a meal, but it had a doorman and a friendly attitude that made me feel good.
The top floor outdoor dining area can enjoy the night view of the Ganges.
The meal is fast, the service is good, the meal is delicious, the price is not high. Well worth recommending.

One of the finest & best hotel of Varanasi. We loved to stay 5 days there.

A guest house that has nothing to envy to the luxurious hotels. That is, the price is higher than other guest house. The location is very good with exit to the river Ganges directly near a ghat (Stairway to the river). It has very nice views but in the winter season it is very cold to be a good time on the terrace or balcony. There is also a lot of fog that prevents the view in the morning and night. The attention is good but the Wi-Fi could be better and get to all the rooms.

Very beautiful place to stay. All the people who work there are gentle, sweet and respectful. The food is amazing. Hot water. Everything is clean. Very recommended. I’ll really miss this place!

Best hotel in Varanasi and probably in all of India. It’s amazingly beautiful, people are the kindest (Deepu, who works at the restaurant, is one of the nicest, funniest people I met), food is delicious (offers great variety), bathrooms are great — hot water is really hot and the showers works like a charm —, everything works and everything is beautifully arranged. It looks beautiful and feels like a home at all times. Has direct access to Ganga and a roof top restaurant. Also, excellent price. They provide many services (airport or train station pickup, boat ride, walking tours, this year a free Indian music and Dance concert on New Year’s Eve, and many more). Definitely recommend it. Should probably be booked in advance (I did).

The Ganpati Guest House is located on the Meer Ghat and has a stairway that's leads directly to the ghat. It's a beautifully done guesthouse painted in bright Colors and with extremely nice furnishing. The location is amazing, the rooms are really good and we really enjoyed every meal we ate here as well. Would recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing trip to benaras. We stayed in the annexe building which is less expensive than the main building but the rooms were extremely nice and spacious there as well.

A magnificent place from whose terrace you can see all the Ganges. The rooms are cozy and the food is cheap and good quality, they even come from other dining facilities on the terrace with Ganges view. Nice and friendly Staff A 15 min walk to the main street reachable only on foot. A place to come back to, absolutely.

Everything was fine, room was clean, hot water and wi fi was OK. The monkey on my terrace woke me up at 7.00, that was a little bit earlier than I hoped, but at list I had fun filming it jumping all over. The food in the restaurant was well and the stuff was good. So I'm satisfied.

Good guest house. There is Ganpati guest house ans Ganpati home, both run by the same staff. Good location near Ganga. Great view from the roof top restaurant. Wi-Fi ok in Ganpati guest house but does notre work in Ganpati home. Room clean.

You come to Varanasi and end up in this amazing guest house, where the owner makes you feel like home. Clean, silent and spacious rooms are here for you well staying.

Home away from home is the line to best describe this place. I booked this place for my parents for their recent trip to Varanasi after reading all the good reviews about this place in every booking site and even on Google and my parents were never been so happy with the services, cordiality and courteousness of the staff to say the least. They had a great time there with the location just by the Ganges with a superb rooftop restaurant and a mesmerising view of the fabled Varanasi ghats to the distance. The food was excellent and having varieties of optoins from Western to Indian dishes. The entire place has been well maintained and decorated with very cleaniness the rooms were wonderful and spacious and toilets were also very clean and hygenic. The best part my parents always telling me is the earnestness and warmth of the place and each and every staff members. I would always recommend this place to everyone visiting Varanasi and even I am looking forward to be there when I will be visiting the place next as I sadly missed the opportunity this time around. And lastly thanks again to all the staffs of the Ganapati Guest House for all the warmth and help you provided to my parents, it has really been a wonderful experience for them.

Excellent location on Meer ghat, just beside river Ganges. Very helpful, systematic reception and cordial staffs, down to earth. Staffs of ganpati are always on their foot to help you as much as possible. Rooms are cozy, well decorated and with all facilities. Bathrooms are clean and all gadgets are working very well. Its annex building rooms are also very good same as main building. Roof restaurant and garden restaurant is very attractive and especially at evening it will be your final destination for rest with chilled beer. Foods are delicious quantity and quality is also good. Environment is calm and quite. Security is 100%. Every time when I will be in varanasi, I will be in ganpati. My recommendation is very high. Go for ganpati guest house. Ganpati you must keep it up.

Honesty is the best policy here. Recommending highly. I stayed 06 days at Ganpati with my friend, it was my finest experience from all corners. Great location on meer ghat just beside river Ganges. Location is a big plus point. (all ghats to all temples you can reach easily), rooms are clean, spacious, very hygienic bathroom and all are well maintained. Garden is nice and highly decorated with paintings and hangings. Its decoration and separate thinking of how to be more good is a nice one. Rooftop restaurant is awesome where anybody can take there foods with Ganges view. Environment is very calm and quite, very peaceful. All staffs are very cordial, honest and well behaved. I must stay there again. Ganpati team thank you very much, you people just keep it up.

Varanasi is one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world. Staying here means staying in some of the oldest lanes that still remains used and Ganapati guest house is in one such lane just next to the Ganges. The Ganges can be accessed through their personal that also. There are various kinds of rooms and I stayed in a room which over looked the Ganges. The bed is snug, air conditioning works apart from the power cuts during which time they have power backup. The bath room is slightly small but neat and clesn. They provide complimentary water bottles, house keeping service daily and laundry services are optional. The staffs are ok but they could be better trained. The restaurant staff especially. The access to the hotel is only through the winding alleys which requires assistance and walking. Google map is not effective here. The food in the restaurant is decent and slightly oily. If you want immersive varanasi experience with reasonable comfort this is the place to stay. There are no phones in the room, Wi-Fi works only in the reception and they have locker facility in the rooms. For the price I paid I expected little more hence my rating is 4

Great rooftop restaurant! Nice and quiet next to the Ganges. The drinks were served well before the main course (which is rare in India) and the food at the same time (also rare). I had the Thali. One of the thali's I've had in India.

Cozy rooms with all the facilities. Walking distance to Kashi Vishwanath Mandir and the Dashashwamedh Ghat. Great staff. Helpful. Polite. Clean and very neat. 10 stars for cleanliness. Price is reasonable.

The hotel is fine but the food is terrible. We got very sick after eating there. The hotel is right on the ghats almost next to Dashawamedh Ghat. The location is great, the hotel is very pretty, but the food doesn't work! Also the Wi Fi Doesn't work in any of the lower floor rooms. You have to go out to be able to access it. Very inconvenient!

Varanasi can only be enjoyed by staying at the River Ganga Ghats and walking the myriads of lanes. Thats where the vibe of the city is felt. Ganpati hotel is exactly what I was looking was. Its next to the famous ghats, its on the ghat and one can reach either through the lanes or from the ghat side. The hotel is budget and its feel is of boutique and quaint. Cleanliness is world-class and I observed that the staff was continuously cleaning every nook and corner. The rooms are colourful, extremely clean with all the amenities I needed. I stayed in the budget room, which does not have a TV (and I didn't need one). As this is a budget hotel, you can buy your water supplies and tea/coffee from them. The tours provided by hotel are reasonably priced. The river boat rides early morning and evening are a must. I hired a guide for local sights through the lanes. You will need a guide to understand what these lanes are about. Ask the reception on what to eat and where to eat. They will suggest some good and hygienic places. The hotels roof top restaurant is nice. I had most of my meals at this place. The views of river Ganga from the restaurant are fantastic. You can even view the evening Puja from here, with a binoculars or your cameras telephoto lens. The airport pickup and drop is a must. The drivers and the car are very nice. And they will provide baggage portage through the lanes to the hotel. Its 10-15 mins walk through the traffic madness. The car cannot reach the hotel!

Good! I want to leave the mirror here, my joy to return to Varanasi and to the Guest House Gampati. We didn't have a reservation, but did everything possible to accommodate us. Already 9 years ago that I travel around India and 6 visits to Varanasi, and it was always the Gampati, the place where I feel best, with the rooms super clean, with a terrace next to the Ganges delicious service was very professional and correct, a courtyard full of peace and the best location of a Guest House in Varanasi. I want to thank director Alicia (Andalusian Jaenesa wonderful) your love and care always, since the day that I met her! And as fight next to her husband, by which we are all very attended to and cared for! I will come back to Varanasi and I will be back to the GAMPATI!

I booked this place for my parents, they liked it a lot, staff was very helpful.

My friend and I stayed here for 3 nights. The rooms are well decorated and we had a fabulous view of the Ganges from our balcony. Staff are really helpful and always smiling :-).

Stayed here for 2 1/2 weeks and really enjoyed it. Would not bother looking for anywhere else on a return visit.

Best to go During Dev Deepawali season… I promise u would love this amazing place with good food too :-)

It has a lovely private balcony, with a view south on the Ganges, is beautifully decorated, and has a nice bathroom. If you can afford it, splurge for this room. You will not regret it. The rooftop restaurant is all vegetarian and terrific. We enjoyed both breakfasts and dinners there. The food was great, and the service was always with a smile and good humor. The only improvement I would suggest is to be able to charge meals to the room. Having to pay directly for each meal was inconvenient and inconsistent with other hotels. As others have said, Ganpati Guest House is located perfectly for a stay in Varanasi. We were met at the taxi stand and led (by the “Ganpati boys”, dressed in orange) on a 10-15 minute walk through the maze that is Varanasi to get to Ganpati. Ganpati has several areas besides the rooms to congregate: a lovely courtyard on the lower/reception level, the rooftop restaurant, and other tables situated along the shared balcony. I cannot imagine a better place to stay in Varanasi than right on the ghats and at Ganpati Guest House. SO glad we've been there in April this year! The team is just lovely especially a waiter of the restaurant who have a deadpan sense of humour. The room was clean (the one just under the restaurant but not with the Ganga view). A good place to sleep, meet people and eat. I recommend it.

We came from Agra. We loved this Guesthouse. The food was good, the friendly atmosphere and super correct rooms.

Ganpati Guest House was our first experience in a guest house and we were pleasantly surprised. Beautifully decorated and well kept. Staff was amazingly gracious and accommodating! I can't say enough about our experience. Security was excellent. The restaurant on top was so tasty and affordable. Thanks to Dill and all the other waiters and cooks! All around experience was Excellent will recommend this place to all my friends. Thanks to all @ Ganpati.

I stay at Ganpati Home. This is more comfortable place for me, suggest you " ganpati guest house " if you want to see a gangar as much as. But it is clean room nice interior with new A/C. Now it is construction nowadays. Will make it up after August. Nice gangar view top roof restaurant, good staf, nice response any inquiry. Anyway you should to stay here if you enjoy varanasi.

The service was good, but on the day I left the receptionist charged me the taxi fee twice. I didn't notice that until I checked the invoice. The receptionist who charged me extra fee was the same guy who wrote me the receipt an hour earlier, so he should not forget he had already included the taxi fee in the payment. Honesty is really important.

My friends and I stayed at the Ganpati Guesthouse in mid May 2012. The staff were very friendly and helpful. They even posted my letters home for me! The rooms are gorgeous and ours overlooked the Ganges. The guesthouse is perfecly located for morning and evening strolls along the ghats. The roofstop restaurant's thali is really yummy :) If ever I'm in Varanasi again this is where I'll stay. Thanks Ganpati.
