Excelente cocina, comimos fenomenal y nos trataron magnificamente. Nos preparaton tanto carne como pescado, disfrutamos mucho. Excelent food and cooking, they treated us like kings, they cooked delicious lamb and fish in a very calm environment. We were hosted for fishing in river Fossá, but the Guesthouse were as good as the fishing. Great!

We had a wonderful four night stay with the most gracious of hosts, Sigga and Gummi, who treated us like family. This peaceful, easy to reach location, (an hour and a half east of Reykjavik) is a working horse and sheep farm set amongst rolling green hills with stunning mountain views. It is perfectly situated for touring the Golden Circle and the natural wonders of Southern Iceland. Our room for three was clean, spacious and the beds were very comfortable; we slept like babies. From the breakfast room the stunning vision of Icelandic horses galloping through the fields greeted us as we poured ourselves a cup of fresh brewed coffee. Our day started with a delicious and healthy breakfast. Sigga had gluten free and dairy free options prepared for our daughter including home baked gluten free bread. Best of all, after a long day day of spectacular sight seeing, we eagerly returned to the guesthouse for amazing home-cooked Icelandic specialties that included lamb raised on the farm. All meals were prepared with our daughter’s dietary restrictions considered. I don’t think that anyone in Iceland ate better than us! Breathtaking waterfalls are memorable but the fabulous meals and the hospitality of our hosts are the things we’ll remember most about our visit to Iceland and the reasons we would gladly return to Guesthouse Geldingaholt. Thank you Sigga and Gummi.
