So lovely warm and welcoming. Very nice and clean. Reception staff so helpful. Restraunt first class. Staff are so nice and friendly. Such a lovely hotel. I will Definitely recommend this Hotel.

Excellent hotel in a very quiet neighbourhood literally a stone's throw from Reykjaviks city centre. Fantastic helpful staff and a fabulous breakfast every morning. Would highly recommend!

This was our first trip to Iceland. My husband booked Hotel Holt because of their great reviews. I am so glad he did! Hotel Holt is absolutely charming! The rooms are clean and tidy. The common areas are comfy and relaxing. The staff is wonderful! Hrafn, at the front desk, is my favorite person there. He was very helpful with suggestions for restaurants (all of his suggestions were great! ), local attractions, or just calling for a taxi. He was also always willing to share his culture, answer any questions, and help us to understand the language and pronunciations. When Hrafn wasn’t there, “Just” Karl was available to help! When the staff found out we were there to celebrate my birthday they surprised us with Prosecco and chocolates! This hotel has a large, wonderful art collection—paintings, sculptures, tapestries—just beautiful! I walked down every hallway just to look at the art! This hotel is in a great area of Reykjavík. The nearby houses and shops are colorful and inviting. We always felt safe walking around, even late at night. We were a group of six, three couples. We all had a fantastic vacation and would highly recommend Hotel Holt.

Wonderful hotel in a perfect location only minutes from shops, restaurants and main bus terminal. There was an error in my booking on the part of the booking agent but staff rectified this and were very generous in what they provided which was greatly appreciated. Good, fresh breakfast. Hotel has a cosy ambience.

Strategic place given its proximity to the harbour and the old town. Impeccable service and friendly staff.

Perfect service, beautiful entourage in the foyer, a little shabby furniture in the room. Breakfast is very modest.

Very 60s atmosphere with a beautiful reading room and delicious drinks. Also houses an absolutely wonderful Michelin star restaurant.

We are here for the week, and so far, the staff has been very friendly and helpful, the room is comfortable and clean, best shower I have taken while travelling, and the breakfast is to die for! When I make my way back to Iceland, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Lovely hotel, only a 5 minute walk from the town centre. Super friendly, informative, staff. Utterly amazing, Michelin quality, food in the Gallery restaurant. We were lucky enough to sample a visiting chef's menu whilst here. Just stunning. The matching wine flight was sublime. I'd definitely stay here again if I was ever lucky enough to return to Reykjavik.

Hotel Holt is warm and welcoming. Small but well appointed rooms with original artwork throughout the hotel, including in every room. It's a unique and wonderful place to stay in Reykjavik. I stay here every time I go to Iceland.

It is an excellent hotel, the reception to the tourist is amazing even though I do not speak English the communication was achieved, the excellent breakfast, the spacious rooms with coffee maker and coffee to remove the cold, the cleanliness very good. The decor of the hotel we loved. The location a few meters from the places for shopping, food, we found an amazing bakery.
Our visit to Iceland, Rekiavick was excellent. The constructions of the houses invite to photograph them.

Older rooms, but the location is good and the staff are friendly and efficient. The free breakfast is decent in quality and selection.

The hotel is kind of outdated, but absolutely beautiful and clean. The staff were great and the bed and pillows were super comfortable. My only complaint was that the breakfast didn't have a ton of variety but at least the food they had tasted good.

Just spent four days at this hotel which was an offer from Secret Escapes. They did not tell us that the Hotel was changing hands and that the restaurant and bar were closed. The breakfast area downstairs was cold, dark and bleak — the waiter said he hadn’t yet located a heater so obviously others had commented! The quality of the breakfast was poor and there was no service at the tables. Occasionally someone would appear and collect a few plates up. On the other hand, the room was comfortable and warm, the location is good and the reception staff delightfully helpful. Once new management takes over, I can only hope it will be much improved. A very disappointing experience I’m afraid.

Cozy hotel, near the center of reykjavik. Everything you would expect from a hotel. Clean tidy and the breakfast was nice as well.

I only stayed at the Holt for one night at the end of a 10 day guided photography trip, and it was very nice. The bathroom was really nice. The curtain was a tad short and didn’t completely cover the room windows but otherwise the room was fine.

Great hotel in the centre of Reykjavik. Good breakfast offering to get you started for a day of exploring. Extremely friendly staff and a great cocktail bar.

My regular hotel during stays to Reykjavik. Rooms good, staff very friendly and helpful. Restaurant has great food and certainly on my last visit, a chef who actively sought customer feedback to improve/implement new dishes (not that it needed it). Don't be put off by the sulphur smelling showers! That's a benefit of Iceland. Hot water courtesy of Mother Nature!

Very nice rooms. A bit small by North American standards but for Iceland they are top notch. Views of the ocean from the upper floors. The art is fantastic and the staff are extremely helpful. Real old world charm. Breakfasts are the best I have had in Iceland do far. Great selection of fine congacs and whiskeys at the bar. Not the cheapest but overall I could not be happier with this hotel.

Had a wonderful time during our one-night stay. Beautiful art all throughout and a cool atmosphere. Bartender gave us a rich history of the hotel.

Very warm welcome at the Hotel. The gentleman at reception invited us to come back to talk to him about excursions once he'd cleared the queue. This we did, and he booked us onto a boat trip to view the Northern Lights (we were very lucky; we saw them). He also booked us onto a Tour with Your Day Tours (family business; brilliant) for The Golden Circle. We were already booked onto The South Coast Tour (thankfully with Your Day Tours! ) Breakfast was really good, and the Art work in the Hotel gives it a quirky feel (in a good way) with lovely seating areas in the lobby where you can relax, as well as the bar (large range of cocktails). We ate in the dining room one night; on a special five course set menu, with the wine flights; very good. The staff really went out of their way to make you feel welcome. Would recommend wholeheartedly.

One of the best in Iceland — classic.

It is a 4 * quite classic with a very nice breakfast room that looks like an art gallery. To get to the city centre should walk about 10 minutes. The staff and the breakfast very good and correct rooms.

Great hotel. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was very satisfying. The hotel gets about 10 TV channels, mostly British (BBC1 and ITV). Very short walk from the major downtown attractions.

Incredibly hospitable staff! I've never had a front desk that helpful and friendly. Really good location (walkable from the bus station with luggage), well spec'ed rooms — even give you toothpaste! Nice bar and beautiful old style lift. Highly recommended and at a great price (for Iceland ;).

Fantastic location and beautiful rooms but we had an issue with the suffer scent in the shower water. Makes for nauseating mornings if you aren't use to the smell. This was the only hotel we experienced on our trip with the water smelling so strong.

Very well located in walking distance of all town centre attractions. Very comfortable room and welcoming staff. Breakfast is very good and The Gallery Restaurant serves a delicious international Fine Dining menu. Having walked and driven round Reykjavik and seen the locations of the other hotels, Hotel Holt has got to be one of the best located. Highly recommended.

Despite arriving past 12 o'clock, they were very friendly, room was at an ideal temperature, with views of half the city and also ocean smell permeated throughout the room, everything was very nice.

I am currently in the hotel. The position is totally wrong, that's not very fair for pedestrians. I don't understand why people in the history talk about the indicator being on the road when it is 200m too far in the north! By the way, it's not possible to modify the locator. So look at the 37 in the same street to get the right location.
