Terrible from the moment we entered. Despite having a reservation, the staff was too distracted behind the bar, talking to each other, to even notice we had entered. After standing around not knowing what to do, we had to engage one of the people behind the bar to tell them we had a reservation. We already were in a bad mood at this point and upon being shown to our table, we once again had to stand around looking for a place to hang our coats. The very young, inexperienced waiter finally showed the coat hangers and gave us the menu. We ordered some water to start and after waiting for about ten minutes (although clearly many of the staff were still standing around, talking to each other and not doing much) we decided to leave without even getting the water. As we exited, we said we were leaving because there was lack of quality service and apart from looking confused, no one apologized or even tried to understand what had happened. We wrote a letter of complaint to the restaurant itself, as well as the Ritz company and the Marriott corporation, and no one ever responded by mail, email or even telephone. Makes you wonder why no one seems to care about customer service for a high profile, so called “luxury” brand. We definitely do not recommend.

We had an awesome experience at the Ritz in Budapest. All of the staff were so warm and welcoming and wanted to make sure we had the best experience possible. We felt like kings and queens, yet it felt warm like home. The breakfast was incredible, and they made sure our baby was fed like a prince! Thank you Polina, Ferenc, Chiarra and everyone for making our stay the best!

I can recommend the DSK Wine n Grill
I had the Leek soup, followed by the Duck. The soup was creamy and very well presented as you would expect. The Duck was served with Risotto which had sweet pickle onions — absolutely delicious. Friendly staff and very attentive. Highly recommended. High standards at affordable prices.

Everything and more than we expected. Great location and fantastic staff to match this lovely hotel. Would definitely recommend it.

The best thing about it is the staff, we were greeted like family and made comfortable immediatly, without the stuffines that some five star hotels have.

of course the hotel itself is perfect, the bed is like sleeping on a cloud, and the room is very spacious and comfortable. The bar area is relaxed and welcoming. the location is perfect, as it is within walking distance of all the central area and attractions.

Very nice — very expensive — but worth it — — you only live once — why not the best?

Our first time visiting the Ritz and we had such a wonderful time. The level of detail in service is fantastic. We will definitely be back.

This is our first time here. We were asleep in the room at 5pm due to jet lag, Ritz Carlton staff just broke into the room. It was the worst hotel experience we’ve ever had. When we checked in the room (of twin beds) wasn’t ready so we were placed in a king bed room temporarily and were told that we will be moved to the room once it is ready. Apparently these people at front desk were not in the loop. We had to check with them twice and asked if the room is ready and explain…ed the whole situation again. Last time the guy even asked us why we changed room (dude the hotel didn’t get the room ready for us, ok? ). There were noise outside the hotel room too in the night. Totally not up to a basic standard of 5 stars hotel. Shocking.

Wonderful hotel. They have many amenities and an excellent bar and restaurant downstairs. The location is superb, the bus, subway, and tram stops are all right outside the hotel, which makes it a breeze to get around.

The Ritz-Carlton has been fabulous. We are staying here on our honeymoon, and we have been so impressed with the above and beyond service. The bed and shower are to die for. Thank you for an amazing first stop on our trip!

If you want to stay in an expensive hotel with hair on the bed, couch and bathtub then this hotel is for you! Even better when you inform reception they say a cleaner will come but no one arrives. We all expect a much cleaner room at the ritz, this is not a motel!

Elegant, beautiful structure. Neat, clean and fabulously decorated. Staff was wonderful, especially chef Matthew, Boogie and Antonio in the lounge. 3 people that were so thoughtful, sweet, kind and caring. They went out of their way to make and my family and myself feel like rock stars. Only down side was the blonde in the concierge lounge that rolled her eyes at us when we asked for her assistance. If she's unhappy with her job, it's time for a new one. One of my all time favorite Ritz Carltons. Budapest is a beautiful city.

Great location. Very nicely appointed hotel. The rooms, bathrooms and public areas are all elegant and comfortable. The restaurant Deak had outdoor seating and it is really nice in the summer to sit out and have a drink or meal. The Club Level Lounge is also very spacious and exclusive. There are plenty of food and drinks all day and evening. There staff there are attentive and personal.

Would recommend a Club room but then you may not want to leave the hotel too much and miss beautiful Budapest.
Bed was heaven, I would return for the bed alone.

A chic 5-star hotel in Budapest.

Great Hotel! It started with Kenny at the front desk, he was extremely helpful, nice, and is the perfect person to have customers make a first impression! the club lounge was well worth it and the staff were all very helpful and went out of there way to make sure our stay was perfect! We can’t say enough good things about this hotel! Our room 933 had a little balcony which was a nice feature! Thanks again to Lukas, Antonio, Viviene and Norbert from the lounge and Kenny front desk, you were all awesome!

My husband and I have spent 2 of our 6 nights and have been so very happy we chose to stay at The Ritz Carlton. We are across the street from lovely Elizabeth Park, a short walk to the fabulous St. Stephen’s Basilica and many lovely streets full of restaurants and gelato shops and many other treats.
Everyone at the hotel has been full of smiles welcoming us each morning as we go to a lovely breakfast and each time we return to the hotel. The bellman, Gregory has been so very helpful since he first welcomed us from the cab upon arrival and every time we see him since.
Kenny, who first checked us in at the desk, was a font of good information and ideas.
Our concierge was also very patient and helpful as we tried to juggle all the many things to do with our schedule.
It’s been a great experience and the perfect place to stay here in Budapest which is a wonderful place to visit!

If you want to listen to amazing piano music, come to the restaurant between 13 and 16 on Tuesday or Thursday. Valeria is playing and she is amazing.

Very noisy at night. Drunk people at night laughing and loud music. Best is to opt for higher floor rooms. Rooms are gorgeous though.

Just been in the restaurant. Friendly and attentive service, food was excellent (just a steak but I'm pretty fussy about meat). The mashed potatoes were also really tasty.

The Ritz Carlton Budapest is one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in. The staff are friendly, welcoming and always extremely polite. The hotel is ideally located in the centre of Budapest. The club lounge was part of our two night package and I would recommend this to anyone, it was amazing. The gym and pool/jacuzzi is modern and has everything you need while you are away from your home gym. I did read a review from someone saying you could hear underground trains and while I did experience this in reception, you had to concentrate and the room be totally silent to hear/feel this in the fourth floor, it did not have any negative effect on my stay at all. If I had one criticism it would be that the bed was too warm for me, I do like a cooler bed but the bed was lovely and bedding also fantastic just a little too warm for my taste. Overall I would definitely recommend the hotel 100%.

The hotel is very clean, modern and all the staff were very friendly, and helpful. Located rite in the middle of the city centre most famous sites are within easy-reach walking distance. The room was very quiet, tastefully decorated and the bed extremely comfortable. The restorant had a nice atmosphere and the food was well cooked. I would highly recommend the hotel to anyone who is planing to visit Budapest.

Restaurant swell but with superb backdrop but super expensive.

Amazing venue with close proximity to everything that you want to see and do on your visit. The staff is multilingual and very attentive. This was a great place to unwind and relax after a long day of exploring the city.

We loved the location of the hotel, right close to St Stephens, across the street from the Budapest Eye, and within five minutes of the nice little Christmas markets. Service has been great and the staff wonderful. Only complaint we really have is that walls seem a little thin and/or we had really loud neighbors that went to sleep late and woke up early.

From the extremely warm welcome and consistent friendliness of the staff, to the beautiful design and furnishings of the rooms and public spaces, the Ritz experience in Budapest is exquisite. The club lounge staff was incredibly accommodating. Late afternoon fare is light but other accoutrements like wine, beer, Perrier, pistachios, and bite-sized sandwiches were available. Suites on the ninth floor are worth the splurge. The pool is small but nicely designed with jacuzzi adjacent. Workout facility is modest but adequate. An exceptional experience.

First class property. Extremely comfortable beds paired with a beautifully appointed room. My only complaint is that the metro line runs under the hotel and the rumble of the metro is quite noticeable. It's not loud enough to keep you awake at night, but it's takes away from the peace and quite you'd otherwise expect from a Ritz-Carlton property.

Good location and very friendly staff.

Extremely underwhelming. The hotel is nice and clean, but we had previously stayed at the Prague Marriott and much preferred that to this. The service was not anything above any other marriott property. One night, we were in the room getting ready for dinner, when housekeeping came for turn down service. We asked them to come back in 10 minutes. When we came back for the night, nobody ever came back. Just a small example, but you'd expect more from a Ritz Carlton. I am sure there are much better hotels for the money in Budapest.

Lovely hotel right in the heart of Budapest. We didn't stay here but our friends did and we joined them for breakfast at the Kupola Lounge so this is a review of the restaurant. The food was very good and a wide selection. The buffet is 7500 HUF which is a little pricey (about 30 Euro) but other menu items a la carte are quite reasonable, including a tasty shakshuka. They have very fresh squeezed juices, including spinach and ginger. The buffet selection and coffees are also quite delicious. The staff is professional and well trained and personable. This would be a great place to go with just visiting friends for a nice breakfast. The bar is also nice — we went the night before for a night cap. Closes at 1 am but good staff and a wide selection, if a little pricey for drinks.

Great hotel with Amazing friendly staff and always helpful. Room 906 do not stay in the summer. It gets to hot and the Aircon cannot cope with the direct sun coming in from the full length windows. Windows no use as there is no view.

So helpful. So attentive. And a great value among RC properties. Marriott and SPG members redeem your points here! When you do, concierges Akos and Christian will not disappoint.

Overall great experience. Staff is super nice, hotel is very clean and upscale. Only odd thing is you can hear the subway trains running beneath the building when in the rooms. It ultimately did not bother me or interrupt my sleep, but something to be aware of if your are a super light sleeper.

5 star hotel with nobody on reception to pick up the phone call…

Great location? Check. Comfortable rooms? Check. Ritz Carlton service? Double check. Overall spectacular? Almost. The new Ritz Carlton Budapest replaced the Le Meridien, and while I imagine that extensive renovations were done, the hotel doesn’t “feel” new. Bathroom fittings and moldings for example seem to be inherited from the original establishment, so you lose the sense that you’re in a brand new place. We were in a corner room on the 7th floor, which afforded us lots of natural light (floor to ceiling windows on two sides of the room, with blackout curtains that did their job well at night), and great views of the St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The Danube and Buda are minutes away, walking, and bus / metro / tram stops are literally just outside the hotel. (You can even hear the metro rumbling underground every few minutes. It didn’t disturb on the 7th floor, but I can imagine it would be more noticeable lower down). What I liked: Beds were extremely comfortable; the room was spacious; bedside and in-desk electrical outlets for European, British and Western plugs. Towels / bathrobes were very plush, and the real bath mat (not a towel) added to the luxury of the room. Service overall was faultless – hotel transfer, check-in, concierge (trust whatever Krisztian recommends), doormen were all top class. I liked too that this Ritz is a little less formal than the traditional coat-and-tie for everything… the staff in the restaurant wear jeans, for instance.

Wonderful boutique hotel. Rooms are complete with French balcony, heated bathroom floors and down comforters. Wifi. The Hungarian Night at Le Bourbon Restaurant is superb complete with traditional buffet, folk music and dancers. Feast, interact with the entertainers and enjoy a most memorable evening of Old World Hungary. Friday evenings only.

AWFUL HOTEL reception DISASTROUS with seconded staff and unprofessional they charged me the room twice without even apologizing for the error. Rough cleaning and valet pushy. A dud. Italian Language Unknown. So smoke and ZERO substance.

A wonderful place, with a good staff, spacious rooms and luxurious, in perfect geographic situation. This hotel is in heart of Budapest. Only one bad details, if you're at 3rd floor, you feel the metro's noise.
