Review of Szarvaskút Hotel 4*

Short review: You should definitely have a meal here! Everything was splendid! — — > Pros: Everything. The food was amazing. Good pricing range. — — > Cons: Nothing I can list. Long review: Me and my family was at the Nordica Ski Arena next to Eplény, having a blast, when the time had come to fill our stomachs. We went to Zirc (neighbor city) to find a place to eat, but non of them looked good enough. My mother saw a billboard with an eye cathy name on it "Szarvaskút Kemencés Étterem", so we went there from Zirc. (Kemence is something like a fireplace, but you can use it too cook food in it, part of the Hungarian cuisine is based on it). The place has a big car park next to the Hotel and restaurant, so it wasn't difficult to park the car down. We went straight to the restaurant from the car. The restaurant looks brand new, everything was in perfect shape. The interior desing was very nice, and not too pushy or much to handle. The staff and the waiters were polite and helpful. We ordered soup and main course for everyone in the family. The soup I ordered was good and simple, nothing serious, but what my father ordered was fantastic, he had wild-boar soup with pasta hat. The main course was magnificent. My mother had Goosethights with baked apple and cvekedli (Hungarian type side pasta). The goose was so good I had to take seconds from her plate. The tender fat on the meat was soo good, and the apples baked in the "kemence" had an extra flavor from the hard wood used in the fireplace. I ate Beef-cheeks with wilderness sauce and bread dumplings. To put it simple, yesterday I ate the same main course in a famous place, but it was like a fast food menu compared to this… The dumplings and the meat with the sauce was in sync with the flavours. For dessert my father had Cottage-cheese pie made in the fireplace. Oh my gosh, the flavour from the firewood, I still have the taste in my mouth. I was very happy to find a place whit this good kitchen, they are using the fireplace to its best, I recommend this place to everyone!
