Hello everyone. I just left this hotel where I stayed for 5 nights and I can say that I am disappointed. The pictures on the booking platforms are taken right after the renovation. The hotel has many problems and the management does not care. I stayed in room 46 and I had a shock from the moment I entered. The floor is degraded, the furniture the same. The water kettle is broken, the tea/coffee cups are missing. The pillowcase was yellow. The bathroom is small, dark and the taps are not clean, they have large deposits. They practically do not shine. The shower was leaking at the joints. They only fixed it on Friday, I reported the problem on Tuesday evening and on Wednesday the manager (an elderly person, around 80 years old) also saw it. On Thursday evening when I got to the room I saw that the toilet was leaking. I reported it to the reception but I fixed it myself. I told the reception on Friday morning and they didn't care. The soundproofing on the windows is completely lacking. The breakfast is dull. I was shocked when I saw that they heat the omelet. You get the coffee from a huge container of 120 cups. You only have chamomile and black tea; only one type. The sugar containers on the table are dirty. Lack of respect for customers. To be avoided.
This is regarding our booking in this hotel Athens Odeon.
We have add a horrifying experience since we have come to this hotel.
1. The neighbourhood is unsafe. This was highlighted by our receptionist. As soon as we checked in the receptionist told that we have to be careful while moving outside as there is regularly chain snatching and burglaries happening in the neighbourhood of the hotel, and also said that the Police station is just 500mtrs away. What kind of a welcome we got.
2. The hotel doesn’t even have basic amenities like bellboys to take furbniture, water to drink in the rooms, coffee machine or even tea and coffee bags. The bathrooms are pathetic and the soaps and shampoos are unusable. The rooms have broken furniture, the towels stink of some oil.
3. To top it off when we woke up in the morning the room was full of ants, in our clothes, on the bed, on the blankets everywhere. And when housekeeping, receptionist was called they said it is just ants and not to worry and they don’t bite. Even the management didn’t seem to care about the situation.
So inspite of points 1&2 we stayed the night, but due to point 3 above we are compelled to leave the room and shift to some other hotel. Which we are in the process of costing us both our money and our precious time.
This experience has left us flabbergasted. This hotel should be black listed so an esteemed website like Booking. Com doesn’t get roped in and trouble its customers.

First off let me say I am not new to travel and have lived all over the world and this hotel for the price was EXCELLENT. Our cruise was canceled and being in a bit of a panic we went in basically for help and Sotiria (spell check) went out of her way to help us and so, ended up staying for a week. Yes, it could use some updating but the rooms were clean with fresh linens and towels whenever we wanted. The staff Nicos and Sotiria (spell check) were quite honestly…phenomenal. Location to old town and Omonia sq was great. Breakfast was included and if they added a bit of variety daily might be a good thing. Ask for a room at the back as the Athens traffic anywhere in the city is brutal but w that we had great night sleeps…Very pleased, recommend.
