Review of Hotel Bella Vista 2*

I planned to work here for the summer season 2017. My job role advertised, and spoke about, was reception with a tiny bit of bar help. Upon arrival I noticed that the hotel seemed uncared for. The furnishings are old, all areas unkept and outdated. The hotel was very quiet apart from around 9 guests. The day after my arrival I was put to work — not for reception — I was asked to clean rooms, help prepare food for the 9 guests, clean the kitchen, outside areas and be the managers lap dog. He told me that my job role was to make him happy! Anything he needed, a bottle of water that was one metre out of his reach I would have to get for him, make him coffees and food etc all the while being shouted and sworn at. He treated the guests the same! Things came to a head when he asked me to massage his back with oil?! He asked to see my breasts on several occasions and even tried to grab them after asking for a 'hug' I was disgusted. I was working every day from 9am until he went to sleep in the evening — when before arriving I was told I would get a day off every week and work shifts — clearly that didn't happen. Two weeks into this I announced I was leaving and he refused to pay me, he said he would have to take my plane fare out of my wages which he said he would cover beforehand and he didn't have a receipt for! I was owed 80 euros after this plane ticket which he told me he didn't have! This place is a depressing hell hole run by a man whose views on women are vile and the way he treats people in general is despicable! I would AVOID this place — for holiday, for work, for anything! AVOID AVOID AVOID!
