I can recommend everything. Even after more than 10 years, it is a hotel with a crew and a fabulous infrastructure and environment.

It was a verry nice stay in the Matheo Hotel! We enjoyed every moment of it. It was a nice enviroment with beautifull nature around, verry nice rooms and a familiar feeling!

Would not stay there again and I cannot recommend this place. Here is why: 1 — first day, I asked the owner if they could provide soap in the bathroom. Very curtly she responded that there is a liquid soap dispenser and that is all they have. The dispenser is next to sink and far from the shower. Of course, no shampoo is provided. We ended up buying both while staying there for three nights. 2 — our rate was for breakfast and dinner. During breakfast there is a dispenser for tap water as part of the buffet During dinner, also a buffet (chicken legs for meat) you have to buy the water and tap water is not an option. When I questioned why I cannot get tap water the owner became very aggressive and when I made the mistake of telling her that this is a stupid policy she went ballistic. First she started by telling to shut up, then that this is her country (not sure what the connection is) and then threatened to call the police if I do not pay for the water. I plan to contact the Greek tourism authorities to complain about this treatment. 3 — the hotel area is not the best. Far from the beach and very very commercial tourist area. Definitely not my idea of a Greek dream holiday. 4 — there are too many beautiful areas in Crete. Malia, where this hotel is located is DEFINITELY not one of them.

Wow. What should we criticise here? Actually, I don't want to recommend the hotel at all so that it remains an insider's tip. It's just wonderful. The staff are all incredibly friendly and accommodating, especially the nice lady, who has "almost" birthday with me, I immediately closed in the heart. The whole atmosphere promises holidays in the absolute sense of this word. The room is very nice and if you want to fault something, then the size of the cupboard. But this is already moaned at the highest level. I ended up here by accident and I'm glad to have made such a lucky grab. From me absolutely a top recommendation.

Great family run hotel! Great location Rooms are spacious, modern and have all good German TV channels. I was very happy and could recommend it to anyone! Price-Performance Top!

Clean Little Hotel. Food good, small pool available as well as a jacuzzi. Room not large but bright and nicely furnished.

The hotel is with a German-speaking guide! The people acting are friendly and very attentive! We almost felt like home, in a big family! is a bit off the beach but the location is great and quiet.

We are thrilled. We have a great seaview room. The breakfast is always very good and in the evening the salad buffet as well as the main dishes and desserts are just super tasty. We feel very comfortable here.

The food was very good, something for everyone, even Greek. Specialties.
The room was very comfortable
Pool & Jacuzzi (such a kind of whirlpool) Super clean & well maintained.
Hotel is not far from the center, but is very quiet & intuitives.
In the evening a cocktail drink is fun, the waiters are very generous as far as the alcohol is concerned, too little is definitely not in it.
Otherwise we enjoyed the holiday, also tips on possible excursion destinations in the area could give us the "bosses" well.

Incredible staff in the bar area, the managers are lovely and welcoming. It's pretty much being waited on hand and foot, rooms are cleaned daily and perfectly, and the pool area and social areas are always bathed in sun. Alongside this the location is great. Close enough for a short car journey from most of the interesting places in crete, and only a stones throw from some of the best beaches. Slightly pricey in their hotel bar, but the experience makes it worth in my opinion. Overall a great hotel, and a great compliment to sightseeing in Crete. Straight up 9/10

The best hotel in Crete! Fabulous position, fabulous rooms &suites, wonderful staff and lovely food. What more could you possibly want or need on holiday.

Beautifull view with both mountain and see. The villas and the suites are very nice.

Great owners good food. Small remark on very small bathroom which is all wet when you shower.

Attention pictures (medium room, very average bathroom) good personal very responsive, too European meal for an island that is a culinary reference, total absence of fresh seafood…, price drink more expensive than certain bar in France and yet Malia it Just look…! Disappointed a little, tourist trap.
